Larn Davies, the bucket had collapsed before but always popped back out unharmed. Was not expecting it to split so violently. It was winter and very cold so guess is plastic was brittle. Did make us laugh 😂
@@GregVirgoe I read elsewhere that the best way to reshape a bucket that buckles (assuming it isn't split) is not to pop it back out but to take it outside and fill it with warm/hot water and leave it and let the heat and weight of the water push it out. You can help it on its way by using a heat gun or hair dryer. It avoids weakening the plastic caused by popping it back out.
Thanks greg just setting mine up now just had to check which pipe goes where . You can get a little inexpensive valve that goes on the suction bucket to stop it imploding lol ,hopefully this afternoon shud be up and running , Ant greetings from wales .
Really nice demo, I have the same Henry, and am really surprised by the level of suction through all that piping, looks like a great system. One thing you might consider is adding the bag back in the vacuum, in most systems the bag is integral to the filtering of the fine dangerous dust that is too small to see.
Thank you for this video. I’ve been looking at exactly this kind of system for my small workshop and you explained everything clearly and with visual demonstration. Very helpful, thank you. This video alone has got a like and sub from me! 👍
Two Numatic packs I believe and now I don't have to buy any more 😃 The biggest gain is no loss of suction as you have just witnessed. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Cheers
Greg Virgoe I really enjoyed watching this video! Have you not tried the numatic Hepa flo dust bags? There a white cloth through away bag. Very very good, don't lose suction even when there full! But something like this I suppose would save you money If your in a workshop etc.
numaticrule29 HEPA Filters are designed to remove very small particles therefore have much finer material. Any filter will add resistance to airflow and result in a pressure drop on the system. The more efficient the filter the higher the pressure drop and the greater the reduction in airflow. In this woodwork application where the shavings are relatively large, a bag system of any grade would fill up in minutes. Do I see by your profile photo that you have every Numatic vacuum made? 😃
Greg Virgoe yes I do a have a few numatic vacuums (16 to be exact) and there's plently more to get lol. I understand where your coming from, as I don't suck up large quantities of sawdust, there great for use in a house situation. I subscribed to you btw!!
I've got a hetty version of that .really powerful hoover more powerful than some bigger industrial vacs provided by companies while doing some work for main contractors only difference is the smaller bin capacity. Witch makes them perfect for suction power Reliability While taking up much less space when combining it within a cyclone system
Well explained video Greg enjoyed it,I considered this method but opted for a Titan wet n dry with one leg of the mrs tights cut down and put onto the filter,Absolutely immense pressure and nothing in the filter.
The tights are acting as a pre filter, but like all filters that will block with dust every time you use it and in no time you be losing suction. It will have to be cleaned each time you empty the hoover. With a cyclone nothing gets into the vac so you don't need a bag and never have to clean a filter again.
In the video towards the end you say in normal operation you have 2 or 3 of the blast gates open normally. Does this not mean you are losing a lot of your suction performance? As rather than hvaing all the suction being applied to one blast gate you are splitting 2 or 3 ways but only actually using one, so maybe getting only 50% or 33% of the performance you would have if you closed the ones not in use? I know the reason behind keeping an extra gate open is to avoid the imploding bucket but could you not put an air relief valve in the lid which would open if a blockage occurred thus avoiding the imploding bucket. I am looking at making something like you have made in your newer video and am trying to decide what to do to avoid the imploding bucket syndrome. Thanks for the videos just discovered your channel and love it already, never thought about the remote control sockets until I saw your video, have always found turning my hoover on and off a pain and they look ideal so have ordered some today. Thanks again!
You are dead right Jason, it happened a few times before but the bucket was flexibel and would always just pop back out no drama, but I guess because it was so cold that day the palstic was very brittle and it split dramatically :D lol
@@GregVirgoe yes mine sounded like fireworks, i almost shit my pants lol it was an old, and also verry thin bucket, im gonna find a new one from thicker material lol 👍🏻😁
Hello Greg, it's been a while I have not seen your video's. I need your expertise advice, I don't get suction in the dust collection port which are connected to my tool with the blast gates fitted. When I turn on the vacuume the dust collection bucket tend to squeeze and when I turn it off it come back to its original shape but it doesn't collect dust .is the bucket weak. Where did you purchase that bucket, looking forward your response.
Hello Elvis, it sounds like you have a blockage if the bucket is collapsing. Or you can try opening the very last blast gate a little if your vacuum is too strong. We got a larger clear bucket from cheap pound stretcher type stores. The bucket does need to be fairly rigid. Makes sure you only use long radius bends as elbows will easily block up with sawdust.
Hello Greg, thank you for sharing your work. I may have missed something in your explanation, as I am trying to understand why the bucket collapsed. Was it primarily the material the bucket was made of? You mentioned about the blast gates... I was wondering since I only have a simple dust collection set-up, would putting an open hole (small and perhaps covered with foam) solve the pressure build-up in the bucket? Again, thank you =D
Space Invaders i was just demonstrating how much suction the system has. Normally you would have at least one gate open to the machine in use and there would never be a situation where they are all closed. Don’t add a sponge vent as you will lose vital suction.
Greg Virgoe Thank you for your response Greg :) I guess at this point, i’ll just have to consider the frustrating conclusion that it’s the material my container is made of that’s causing it to collapse from the suction pressure. I saw you make and use plywood for your container’s lid, would that help not make the container implode? If not, then I may just have to get a more sturdier container :) Thanks again! Cheers!
Copied this set up Greg. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but most of the dust ends up in the Henry. Not sure if the internals of the cyclone from your link are right. Any ideas?
Greg Virgoe Yes I checked that yesterday just in case after watching you video again in case I’d had a brain fart. I’ve even tried reducing the suction by putting a variable opening into the hoover pipe (like you see on many stand up vacuums but all that does is reduce the effectiveness and I still get most debris in the Henry. The debris is entering the cyclone and not rotating fully down into (per your backlit video) but getting diverted up the hoover connection at the top. Trying to avoid buying a professional shop vac!
Most of them are various PVC waste fittings from plumbers merchants, but it is difficult to get the right sizes so some have to be packed with duct tape.
It made me jump I can’t tell you. The bucket has only ever collapsed before. It must have been brittle due to the freezing weather. My father in law was cracking up as you can hear.
Lol your title is certainly not click bait , by far the best demo on RUclips.

That's pretty cool! I'm a vacuum cleaner collector myself, and hoover dust bags aren't usually that expensive!!

Really?! Are they all Different?
I thought they only made Henry Red, Blue, Pink & Green ones? I'm guessing they all have different names too 😀
That was absolutely brilliant 😂 best video I’ve seen in ages.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for letting me know 👍🏼😃
Pretty much what I've done. Works well enough for me. Nice vid.
Thank you very much :D

Great are you building your own workshop 😊
slo mo on the exploding bucket please lol. Nice easy to watch vid and clearly explained. Subbed.
Absolutely Fantastic Greg i will try this & the blast gates Thanks for sharing Man .....Cheers-Rich.....
BN Rail Nut, thank you very much for great feedback. Best wishes with your extract system. Let me know how you get on with it. Cheers

Hi Greg how do you hook up 2 Henry’s for more power suction. Tks
one of the best vids out there!
We had a lot of fun filming this one Garviel and it works a treat too 😂
Thanks. Really good demo and excellent presentation.

Yep, I have three! Two in the workshop and one in the house. Great Little hoovers.

Copied this set up Greg. Not sure what I'm doing wrong but most of the dust ends up in the Henry. Not sure if the internals of the cyclone from your link are right. Any ideas?
Is the hoover connected to the top of the cyclone?

I hope you see this ? What is that devise you turn your hoover on with ?? Great video btw love from Ireland 🇮🇪
what wattage hoover are you using
620W it works ok on individual tools
Meet the 'Henry' family
Mark T lol, yeah I think we have three, mum has a pink one too 😂
Ohhhhh the things that make us laugh
Lou’s dad was laughing so much 😂😃

tevkil-hasan karayaran thank you for watching, hope you enjoyed it
Absolutely! Please, go on! Have a good job...
tevkil-hasan karayaran thank you 😊
you saved me some cabbage, sub'd!
You’ll have to explain that one ☝️ not heard that expression before 😃
LOL Greg, that made me laugh this morning. :-)

Why have you got to Henry Hoovers
They are cheap and brilliant and still UK made
0:28 always use a bag in your Henry
Had you watched the whole video? You’ll realise how silly your comment is 😂
No dirt goes in the henry, it drops from the cyclone in to the bucket
that system sucks
lol yeah you're not wrong
