I think Julie and the phantoms isn't a done deal for season 2.. so the cast keeps promoting the show to drive more audience so Netflix can feel confident renewing the show
I think it's just because of Covid restrictions, a lot of shows aren't able to be in production yet, and they film in Canada which makes it more complicated because a lot of Canada is in lockdown and you're sending actors across the border. I think it's just made everything a lot more complicated to finalize contracts when you don't know when you can start production. Netflix has done sooooo much promoting for this show, doubt they'd put that much time and money into it if they knew it was toast. Versus other shows I watched last year that I nearly forgot about already because there has been 0 promotion.
@@accountforwastingtime netflix has been announcing show renewals each month even during covid though. Usually they renew 3-5 months after the first seasons if it is a success, which is why it is a bit concerning they havent been renewed yet. Although netflix does continue to promote JATP on their instagram, which is either a good sign or they are hoping more people will discover and watch the show
@@ElishaaLi It could be both. There are a ton of reasons they haven't said yet. I honestly think they'd likely know by now if they just weren't going to renew and wouldn't promote. Considering tours were originally on the table, along with more seasons, and how popular the show has been (and how marketable it is) I'd be really surprised if they didn't. Well, it's Netflix so maybe not too shocked. But still. I'm also pretty sure this show is apart of a big contract Kenny Ortega has with them so just IMO it would be kinda silly to get him on board like that with such a big contract and cancel his, of all people's show.
