what is with the fake title of "child slavery"? If you've ever had a classmate who was a child star, it's not like the child star thinks of themselves as a slave. Every kid has their own lives. Some kids play video games during recess, some kids eat lunch alone, some kids have 10 extracurricular activities after school and get treated like a nerd with no friends, and some kids are child stars and admired in class. Just because a child star has a different life style and goes to idol training doesn't mean they are enslaved. Sure their childhood is different than your imaginary ideal childhood, but many "normal" children have way more abnormal childhoods. I am sure a child idol trainee would rather stay a trainee than to go to piano lessons, math lessons, English lessons, history lessons, ballet lessons, etc. after school. In fact, some of them enjoy being special and dream to be famous. So you want to take that away from them just because you singled them out as abnormal?
Do not see what was wrong, people are over-reacting, she was trained to be an actress initially, and she does not stay in dorm, but went home after training. She also went to school. This is just like enrichment classes that many parents sent their kids to. Don't kids from the West goes to sports academy or other classes as well? Football clubs have kids playing for them as well. You all are just double standard.
That is 100% on the parents....how do yall think kids get roles in movies, runways shows, and advertisements in every country? They all have to rehearse and train. That's not even a kpop thing...that's just parents forcing their kids to work. And depending on the situation at home, it may not be a bad choice to attack the parents over, esp if a family is poorer. Yall need to get out of NewJeans' false victimhood game and stop acting like kpop is the only industry that has minors. Disney and modelling have a whole legacy of child labor. And guess who gets paid? Same with pageants and literally most athletes...
she is too young .. it is like she is training since she came to senses ..... seems like in future they will adopt child right from birth and train them
Ballerina started training at 5 or 6 or even younger. They wont accept you if you're above 7 unless you have exceptional talent. F1 drivers started at 6 with go-kart and gradually training and compete with more difficult and advance race cars. Soccer players mostly join a club at the age of 9 to 10 before actually sign a contract at age 16 IF they were deemed good enough. No success comes without long hard struggle, mate. If you look closely when Twice appears on tv show you can see how the host or other guests always talking respectfully toward her even if they're a "sunbae" (senior) and much older bc in Korea training period also counts as active career. To this day many young children are getting trained to debut in competitive sports, but no one is saying anything. Many kids started their sporting career early and they are not child slaves.
@Enhaipens why not? So you are saying people in sports are all saints, their training is perfect and there is no abuse? Basically, all crafts, arts, sports and music training got their good and bad sides and all can be compared.
@@dubu007 both sides DO have child slaves. The difference is what they make out of it. No one truly knows if Jihyo was forced into it at a you g age or not. But that doesn't matter rn. why? Because she made use of her training years and debuted as a successful idol. She wouldn't dream about sacrificing this life. You've got my point wrong. I'm saying why do we have to feel bad for these idols when they clearly enjoy their profession and are making millions out of their career, but that doesn't mean I support training children who do NOT want to train or idols debuting at a young age. It influences the younger generation into thinking it's ok. Every idol has admitted they suffer a lot during training, but they still renew their contracts despite that matter, why? Because they're adults, they get to make decisions for themselves, they love the fame and the money that comes with. On the other hand, children don't have a say when their parents force it onto them, but those children who make it through their training days will have a blast when they're adults and become famous, but at what cost? Not all of these children get to debut, many leave their school for training and end up not debuting and losing all hope, while also ruining their careers, they either continue trying which isn't always the right choice or they repeat what they have missed from their school years. It heavily influences the younger audience in Korea🤷🏻♀️
I won't blame her parents, In korea success = money. Children in korea go to school really young and they go to school at 8am and come back home around 9pm to 10pm so they barely have a life and they all fighting to work in Chaebols company to get well paid.

People not understanding that in general, you DO have to start young to be an athlete/musician/singer etc It’s not training young that’s the problem, it’s how the whole system is set up and implemented. There’s VERY few main dancers/singers/leaders who haven’t been in the industry training at Least from their young teens, if not younger. And those who started late or with very little training, get Blasted for not “training enough”. Do you want people to train while IN a group? With limited time and income to do so? Or do you want them to train predebut long enough to build the skills?
welcome to korea....you only care bc of your codependent relationship with idols. Whether a kid is studying, practicing an instrument, playing a sport....it's like this from Day 1.
most parents who want their children to do something after school, and for parents who can afford to send their kids to an extracurricular they want their kids to succeed , for some its baseball, football, tennis, gymnastics ,ballet, Piano, Karate, etc. for Korea they have these idol training companies in the west we have Pageant and show business in all of these kids can experience a lot of the same tough times as idols. I also understand that some cultures most parents expect their children to be successful and especially countries like Korea, Japan , China the expectation is really high so kids grow up being in school for far longer hours than western countries. Im not saying its right but they have a better understanding of what's expected and for Westerners a lot of it is way out of line. I am in no way trying to justify harsh environments for kids I am simply saying that most kids and parents whether eastern or western countries have parents who make their children endure harsh training and their are parents who as soon as their kids say they are being mistreated they get them out of there. I know Jihyo wanted to be an actress first but then changed to singer dancer and she has spoke of some of her hardships growing up but mostly she would say it felt normal to her to go to school and then train. I know their is a lot of mistreatment to trainees and it should not be normalized, but unfortunately stigma of people speaking out is sometimes far worse for some in these countries, it can lead to being blacklisted from all companies because they don't want to take the chance with someone they fear might threaten their image, so they are really careful about speaking negatively about anything and that's where I think things should change, there is no transparency so no one is held to a standard and can see this from accounts of other truly horrible companies. Anyway we could go on and on, I just hope someday companies will be held accountable to certain standards/ laws against the mistreatment of trainees of any age.
Child slavery ? Her job is an idol and she also wanted to be actress back then, she trained to achieve that from young ages. Its same thing if you are an athlete, footballer, musician, pianist, or programmer that trained, studied or took classes from young age.

true, and asians are pretty competitive to begin with
Exactly! Give Jihyo the credit for her hard work and unrelenting drive.
You think an 8 year old knows what they want and whats best for them? This should be the parents job...
@@SabakuNoDessertsSome of yall still need mommy till 21...in other countries, that's not normal...
@@SabakuNoDessertsNo glory can be achieved without hardships. Her parents know better than anyone about her talent. Who are you to judge them? She wanted this. She said that many times before.
what is with the fake title of "child slavery"?
Unless you're Bill Gates' kid or something 😂
@KenSicX yeah but others members of the group got same recognition too , some got even more ... Even after joining late right ? It doesn't mean they haven't worked , but they did enjoy childhood , which is not available in her case ...
@@n8mare076 well, she's the most respected member. She's also held in high regard in k-pop for her talent and leadership. I've seen many senior entertainers in korea talk about her with respect. If you look closely when Twice appears on tv show you can see how the host or other guests always talking respectfully toward her even if they're a "sunbae" (senior) and much older bc in Korea training period also counts as active career. So a 10 year active entertainer will always feel inferior to her almost 2 decades. Lol. 2PM Taecyeon always refer to her as "sunbae-nim" despite debuted in 2008. Every JYP idols and trainee wouldn't dare raised their voice to Jihyo unless it was a joke ofc. Just some perks for being a long training idols.
Yeah, she did lose her childhood. But I guess there's sacrifice to made, some a little some a lot. It depends on what the person willing to sacrifice to achieve their dream.
@KenSicX so you support being a trainee from their childhood ? They must work hard , that's reason why they join at that small age , we all know that ... But being a trainee is different , and taking classes outside is different
@@n8mare076 she did said it was just like taking an extracurricular in school. She didn't participate, get an exemption to be exact, in any school extracurricular. So it's like exchanging one extracurricular with another, ig.
Look I know with how horrifying k-pop news we get about idols treatment these days we all think that every idols going through bad things. But it's actually depends in the agency you're in. What role you're in. And what ability you had. Of course there's struggle and hardships but what training don't come with those? All I'm saying is, don't take this too hard. She always said despite the struggles she won't change a thing if she can go back. Beside when she joined JYP every trainees and staffs there absolutely adore her. They called her "Princess Park" "Ice Princess" "Big Eyed Princess" and other cute princess' names. Lol. This is well known to anyone whose a long time JYP stan.
Great things take dedication and sacrifices. Also if jihyo had a problem then, she is old enough now that she would have stepped away from this industry. But she truly loves what she does.
When she joined when she was seven she was aiming to be a child actress it wasnt until she was in her teen/tween years that she decided she wanted to be a kpop idol instead and started training to be that. PLEASE DONT SPREAD MISINFROMATION SHE HAS SAID THIS ON A FEW OCCASSIONS NOW.
edit: spelling
People who hates this should live and experience SoKor culture... Oh no, this is just normal thing in Asian culture... As asian people, this how we learn how to work hard and make money for ourself... Even rich people in Asian rarely spoiled their child (specialy old money)
Look at the result, Jihyo is one of the best idol out there... Leader of Twice 😊
By that logic most world class athletes could've also been considered as child slaves, since they were working hard on their craft from an incredibly young age.
So let's cancle all sports as well, since it takes hard workd from a young age to be amongst the best...
Did they forget about the fact that child actors exist?
They get paid..
@@steffen231that’s true
@ I still doesn't change the fact that its the parents fault

Jihyo has become a very good entertainer, singer and dancer because she's undergone many years of training. Her career is much better than many other artists and office workers
Slavery???????? More like taking music course or ballerina class 😕😕
Or T-ball, little league baseball, soccer, pee-wee football, etc., etc.
Atleast not they let her debuted at age 10! 😅. They trained her and exactly on time she debuted
It’s no different than elite basketball or football or gymnastics training. Most kpop commenters haven’t worked out a day in their life so they don’t understand.
Guess they weren't upset when she revealed she was a trainee for a year at SME before she went to JYPE
Ngl, I would've loved to be in her position at the age. My mom had the same chance with me but she didn't do it. I gave her alot of shit for it when she told me back in the day. I still give her shit for it tbh.
Jihyo looks cute as a child
And? She is a happy wealthy and succesful woman everyone has to go through something and if she is happy with her current life its okay
pfft before people praise her training at early day and people praise jyp for taking care of her...suddenly now saying slavery? influence too much from new jeans??😂😂
I think JYP is good with children maybe not with teenagers and young adult but he is good to young childrens
What happened to vcha is what got people thinking otherwise
Please stop the cancelation culture nonsense. *[REAL WORLD FACTS]* Miss Park Jihyo was a baby model. She was famous for her foreign features. She was (scouted) by sme and later moved to JYPE. She was *(NOT)* a slave! BTW, it was 2pm who originally shared that video. All the older idols liked and remembered her.
[Fun fact] Park Jihyo was a trainee when Super Junior and Big Bang debuted.🤯
being a 8 years old girl training for 10 years in company full of adult .they think its school.
She wasn't training with employees, she was training with other idols.
@vizioned9135 yes at that time only she 8 years old others around 18,16 . also others debut artist . she in company with adult the staff n mnager thats why she more matured
But at then of the day shes the winner. Twice was and still is one of the largest and most popular kpop groups. Yall losers always baby them idols. I absolutely don't support child trainees and think idols should debut when they are adults butttt this has already happened and yall cant change that. To this day many young children are getting trained to debut, which says a lot about the kpop industry. Its a fucked up business for sure, but these idols love the fame and the money, they wouldnt trade what they have for a comfortable life with no fame and no money🤷🏻♀️ i said what i said.
To this day many young children are getting trained to debut in competitive sports, but no one is saying anything. Many kids started their sporting career early and they are not child slaves.
@dubu007 are you fr comparing sports to K-pop? Wow
It heavily influences the younger audience in Korea🤷🏻♀️
oh well, my brain is gonna melt from reading these american comments.
I just lost a minute and seventeen seconds of my time paying attention to this nonsensical clickbait......Smh
It is what it is, and it’s for South Korean law to decide whether it’s wrong or not in their society. Don’t like it? Don’t support kpop.
Roflmao y'all really try to make everyone a villain this day.
I won't blame her parents, In korea success = money. Children in korea go to school really young and they go to school at 8am and come back home around 9pm to 10pm so they barely have a life and they all fighting to work in Chaebols company to get well paid.
Fun fact did you know jihyo originally trained for becoming a child actress?
😲 she is so young
How early do ballerinas start?
the video's been around for quite a while
we heard her talk about how she didn't get to enjoy her childhood and adulthood like others her age many times😕 She also talked about her struggling and "rebelling" by fleeing the company and gaining weight.
I really don't get her parents...
People not understanding that in general, you DO have to start young to be an athlete/musician/singer etc
It’s not training young that’s the problem, it’s how the whole system is set up and implemented.
Haaa, These new people..
Dude, video clip has been around try again

god dammmmmmmn
People try to push the blame exclusively onto parents is wild, it’s as if big corp can do no wrong, what an absolutely deluded mindset to have.
Well the clips is cute but also sad...
Child slavery ?
Her job is an idol and she also wanted to be actress back then, she trained to achieve that from young ages.
Its same thing if you are an athlete, footballer, musician, pianist, or programmer that trained, studied or took classes from young age.
It's not the problem of jyp It's a fault of her own parents who let her join the company at the very small age 😢😢😢 at end her hard work pays off
Fake outrage out of a well-known story in the kpop industry. too late to show you care about her. It is obvious that the video content has an agenda against Kpop.
@@jackbatuts8794 yes. Video creators know that the way to get attention (hits) is to create controversy even where there is none.
Wow! So its the parents fault.not the rancid kpop system. All you yet again proving why kpop fandom is the worst fandom in the world. If a child gets abused at school is that the parents fault too or do the parents believe that there is a duty of care for children.
You made the conclusion of child slavery based on that clip??? Doesn’t make sense
Its seems like people who are bashing over this doesn't have any passion at all. Such a bunch of bum and losers😂😂😂😂😂😂

ten years???
Amazing information
A question: Did 8 year old Jihyo leave home to live in a dorm at JYPE for training or did Jihyo live at home and go for training after school each day? Don't answer unless you KNOW the answer. No opinions or guesses, please.
She said before she attend training after school, and her mum will bring her home each day in the evening.
@@dubu007 that's what I thought, which takes all the hot air out of this ridiculous "child slavery" argument. This is no different than children going to any after school training: ballet dancing (which Mina did 10 years of), musical lessons, gymnastics, little league baseball practice, etc., etc.
Jihyo wanted this, her parents supported her, that's it
