...and always cover the rear brake. Especially if you have never tried this before and are riding a supersport. Its quite easy to loop a bike when trying to wheelie.
Demetri some people freak out and don't release. Or, they freak out and close the throttle completely, and they bounce right over the front of the bike
I know im a year late to this party but you're wrong. On bikes newer than 2002 or so, with all their sensors, it isnt as easy as you think, to flip them. BUT covering their rear break is a lot easier and better than slamming the front end back down. So it's still good advice, just not for the reason you claimed.
Put the bike in second gear take off when you hit about 30 miles per hour Full Throttle fan the clutch the bike comes up steady and as it comes up give it more gas and if it gets too high release the gas slowly. It takes practice
Use earplugs and good gloves. They will help. I could not do it too at the beginning but now it's no problem. Gear def helps! You feel more comfortable with it. I am not sure why nobody says that... may be they think it's obvious... hope this comment helps some of you.
I find it much easier to just stand on the pegs at a steady throttle. Then bounce and as the suspension unloads add throttle it will bring you right where you want to be once you master it. I'm actually very rusty right now being off the bike many years just bought another R1. By the time my first good Sunday is over I'll be rusty no more.
Well its really nice to see you doing it so easy but first which gear should I use for the wheelie and do I have to apply brake before releasing the front on the ground
Clutch ups?. Your on a R1 the most wheelie prone motorcycle there is and all you have to do is twist the throttle!. I've had two of them and both would wheelie easily and sometimes without me knowing it and more than once I didn't know it until I shifted and the front wheel would come back down!. It's really scary at about 95 mph!?
Happen to me. I just cranked the throttle while riding and the bike did a wheelie and crashed it. I flew back wearing full gear so I walked out without a scratch. I hit 120kph.
So if Im getting you correctly, you are saying I should follow the following steps: 1. Clutch in with one finger 2. Open throttle to build up enough RPM 3. Release the clutch?
+mohlomphehi Yes, BUT so it like babysteps... there's no neee to rush things so build up RPM's to get the front end of the bike up, but don't open the throttle like you about to take off... do it real slow so you can feel the bike his power, and then you can adjust your RPM's to get the bike up
Personally I think ignore the comments and just have a crack and do it yourself, that’s how I learnt how to wheelie my bike, you just feel it, start of small and might get baby wheelies and a few second off the ground but it’s all about getting used to that feeling first off being on one wheel, soon you’ll be able to do it anywhere
Once your RPM is getting to high click into 3rd, then 4th....140mph wheelies easier than slow wheelies. More stable from spinning gyro effect of engine and wheels.
On my 1999 R1 id just open the throttle up in 1st without using the clutch as it had enough low down torque and keep the revs quite low then start upshifting whilst on the back wheel, the fastest i got to was 232kph in 6th gear in the wheel stand and could stay on the back wheel as long as i wanted as soon as you learn the balance point it's quite easy,it's a shame i was't aloud to do it on track days ..pity i didnt have a go pro.
Did so many wheelies on my 71 rd350 2 stroke back in the 70s. Got an r1 now, wayyy too many cops, I only pop them in 2nd or 3rd now, kinda as a by product of blipping some throttle, when someone comes up next to me trying to pass like an idiot.
I did a lot of miles in one wheel, in motocross bikes, but, there is a big difference, the weight, in a lighter bike is easy to correct , in something like this, it can big time south... try with something lighter guys!
+Unll2eaL li if you use one finger, you still have 3 other fingers to hold on on your handlebars... i've tried it with 4 fingers, almost lost control once i released the clutch
+Dem take it step by step, don't do it too fast, then it's scary i know... but once you see that you control the bike more and more it becomes less scarier. I never use my rearbrake, i just rely on the engine, but most people use the rear brake for when it goes too far to the back. So it's all up to you :)
1 finger on the clutch , try that on a 2000 srad but i need 2/3 fingers because that clutch is heavy as fuck. I especially swapped lever for that issue so some fingers wont get between the handle and clutch.
what gear were you using? 1st or second? It's easier for me to lift front wheel in 1st but I think the right way to do it is in second gear to have more control
32 mph keep that speed switch from the 3rd to the 2nd gear hold the clutch go for 9000 - 9500 rpm and let the clutch she will go straight up so be careful and get off the gas immediately
I only do power wheelie on my cbr 600rr. Tried a few times the clutch procedure but my clutch it's too hard to pull even with 2 fingers, and when it's lifting I usually loose my streight direction. On power wheelie I have good grip on clipons and it's just a matter of sinchronizing with the bike powerband. I can do powerwheelie even with 125cc bikes.
See... I came off of a 250cc and got a 2014 YZF R1. I went on the highway and got in 4th gear at 65 and pulled on the throttle and my front tire came up.
I have a R1 2005 i think its better to clutch second gear and just power wheelie 1st. thats what i always do. Clutching with second gear at 50km/h wil give you allot of room from 50 to 180 km/h to chase it out.
32 mph keep that speed switch from the 3rd to the 2nd gear hold the clutch go for 9000 - 9500 rpm and let the clutch she will go straight up so be careful and get off the gas immediately
First of all if you are on a wheelie then you are not level you said once on a wheelie after that to keep it level, you want to have the front end of bike about 85% grate or height and then keep it balanced, its easierand wiser to use the power of the bike ,if you use the clutch and rpm's very simple to over rev the bike and crash or flip
32 mph keep that speed switch from the 3rd to the 2nd gear hold the clutch go for 9000 - 9500 rpm and let the clutch she will go straight up so be careful and get off the gas immediately
when you pull the clutch with one finger, do you pull it until it disengage? I mean are you suppose to be able to shift gears when pulling with one finger? I myself hate powerwheelie, I tried few times and its way too agressive...
+Tia no no, i don't shift gears with one finger, when you don't squeez it hard enough, it won't shift.... so i only put it in first already before i start handeling the clutch with one finger to make it wheelie. No shifting gears while on one wheel. It IS possible, but very risky if you don't know how
Ok thanks you! Because I thought some people shift gears with only 1 finger and in order to perform the wheelie with one finger, you were suppose to be able to fully disengage and also able to shift gear... I get it now =) I tried today and was able to lift the wheel up a bit, I need to get use to it. Step by step, im not in a hurry to crash ahha!
Throttle control! No rear brake. Do you wanna slam your front down or let it loft down lightly??? Brake is used once you get at balance point to control the 12 o'clock position while in wheelie.
Crossplane R1s are not this easy to wheelie as in this video. This isn't really applicable to R1s past 08. One of Crossplane design features is to prevent wheelies

ok thankx im in the hospital
U to
Lmao funny shit
i hope this is a joke.... lol

xD
It's a pretty begginer's guide, and one thing you should mention is ALWAYS keeping your foot to the rear brake in case if bike starts flipping over.
...and always cover the rear brake. Especially if you have never tried this before and are riding a supersport. Its quite easy to loop a bike when trying to wheelie.
or just release the throttle..
Demetri some people freak out and don't release. Or, they freak out and close the throttle completely, and they bounce right over the front of the bike
Demetri if you're high up you'll slam the bike down which is no beuno. Using the brake to ease it back down is a lot better.
I know im a year late to this party but you're wrong. On bikes newer than 2002 or so, with all their sensors, it isnt as easy as you think, to flip them. BUT covering their rear break is a lot easier and better than slamming the front end back down. So it's still good advice, just not for the reason you claimed.
Our of this whole vid what I was really impressed by was......that he started the bike on first key turn. That on an R1 is a neat trick
Put the bike in second gear take off when you hit about 30 miles per hour Full Throttle fan the clutch the bike comes up steady and as it comes up give it more gas and if it gets too high release the gas slowly. It takes practice
"this is pretty hard because of the bike feel like it will be flip over, so uh you just have to dare and grow some balls"
*LMAO*
Kyro hahaha
nicecar i
build up power and just pop the fuckin clutch. i love this guy
SFR6 ayyyyy i know you
Use earplugs and good gloves. They will help. I could not do it too at the beginning but now it's no problem. Gear def helps! You feel more comfortable with it. I am not sure why nobody says that... may be they think it's obvious... hope this comment helps some of you.
To me it was the easiest bike to wheelie because of the amount of torque it has,but then again I have the R1 with the crossplane engine
So I have to pull the clutch in, while accelerating?
you forgot to mention the most important thing which is the rear brake control..
Most of them dont use resr break just clutch
@@Lakatancastle whit cluckh you no go down if you pass the good degrees
Never used the brake in a wheelie.
@@Theremodelingchannel ?all good/longs wheelies ,make whit brake

Well its really nice to see you doing it so easy but first which gear should I use for the wheelie and do I have to apply brake before releasing the front on the ground
1st gear, I recommend researching what rpms best for your bike. Every bike is different, and most importantly keep that rear brake covered. Good luck!
Also no, you dont have to brake just coast about 15-20mph and gradually get your bike up.
I guess you can do it 1st you can do it in any gear
Clutch ups?. Your on a R1 the most wheelie prone motorcycle there is and all you have to do is twist the throttle!. Youre dead arent you? R.i.p
3:30. Haha
Balls don’t grow but your insurance rates will when you wreck your damn bike.
ALLWAYS land with the front wheel in forward direction !!
peace of cake u made that as simpel as it can be congrats bro ;) keep up
Most informative wheelie video I've seen, thanx
man you make it look so easy lol i need to keep trying on my R1
Replacing fork seals is my favorite part!!!!

probably had shortened gear ratios
Really important to have the rear brake covered incase you feel like your going to over cook the balance point, easy done on one of these
Yes and no

"open up the throttle like a motherfucker"
got it.
That audio is perfect
Hey before you pull in the clutch to rev it to 9k do you let go of the throttle? Or do you hold throttle at 5k and pull in clutch and rev it to 9k?
I did a lot of miles in one wheel, in motocross bikes, but, there is a big difference, the weight, in a lighter bike is easy to correct , in something like this, it can big time south... try with something lighter guys!
why all my frend tell me not to do wheelies on first gear on my R1 ? allways they said to do it on second gear
? im total newbie btw
Kaloyan Kotsev Gearing is too short. You can easily loop it in 1st. 2nd is smoother
I don't recommend clutch wheelies. I had an fz750 that I did wheelies on all the time and eventually the clutch main bearings went bad.
Dont forget about getting used to using the back brake while getting the front tire up just so you loop it when you get scared
Could you send me a link where you got that gold analog watch from?
I find a hard time doing it in standard the throttle always dies but I think I’ll be able to do it in a mode
I use four fingers always. I don't see any reason not to. can you explain why I should use less in any situation?
+Unll2eaL li if you use one finger, you still have 3 other fingers to hold on on your handlebars... i've tried it with 4 fingers, almost lost control once i released the clutch
+Mr TooYoungToGoSlow I see, thanks for the feedback.
R1 is perfect for power wheelies
I never heard overpowered ... sounds cool
What year is your r1 ? Do you have traction control on ? If so what setting ?
+R1 Wolf it's from 2006, so no fancy stuff :)
RN22 best bike in the world. I love my RN22
same
What model is your bike?
awesome video cant wait to get mine R1 thumbs up
You are definitely right about the power wheelie. I have an 06 R1 & the clutch is the only 1 I do

take it easy man, you got plenty of time.
It looks soo easy when iam watching you doing but than when i try it on my bike its like oh shit i will never make it hapend hehe
How can you not wheelie a 1000 ccs lmao
thank u dude its much more easier to understand
frm u
how to fuck up your clutch plate lol

Hey bro I have the same bike... so let me get this right ? Are you barely holding in the clutch when your revving up at the same time?
Cool video
What's that gage on your handlebars its that a boost gage is it???
Yes it is, sadly enough it does not work, it can only tell the time now
great whitch gear you use?
Where did you get those grips?!
what camera you used?
Have you played Wheelie King 3D?
Yo, is this Italy?! Swear that scene looks hella familiar.
Dont worry, Ezio is follow him.
^^
When you are on RPM you release the Clutch?
Between 4-5000 is a good reference point in my mind.
In what city u are ride in ?
Imad Emad from Algeria is not Nigeria. My race street was developed and organized with my French friend Carty I wish your visit
I'm doing it right then I just need to grow some balls then lmao xD 😂

and the thing no youtuber ever tells you is lower your rear tires psi 25 -30 if you dont wanna die.
Ik wheelie hem het liefst puur op power. Geeft me meer controle gevoel. Nice vid bt
Why dont u you like power wheely
Soo, youre doing it in 1st gear?
Probably recommend doing this in gear 2 or higher. Great one will cause you to crash. I learned the hard way.
See... I came off of a 250cc and got a 2014 YZF R1. I went on the highway and got in 4th gear at 65 and pulled on the throttle and my front tire came up.
I'll try it and i hope i wont fall.... I have a 2003 yamaha R1... Wish me luck!!!
+Billy Paschal goodluck bro !
+Mr TooYoungToGoSlow thanks bro!!!!!
i have the same bike and i will try this this week end lol
Drived one week with r1 2003 and did wheelie with first time... good bike :)
its firts gear???? or second??
Emmanuel cantu I was wondering the same thing
With That r1 dont matter
don't do first gear as the throttle will be way more sensitive. Second gear is the best for most bikes
is that 1st or 2nd gear?
+raivons in first, but with a powerfull bike as a R1 it's also possible in second
that's true ,today i tested it :D
You can lift a 600cc sport bike in 2nd too I can lift my stock cbr600rr in 2nd an 3rd easily
I have a R1 2005 i think its better to clutch second gear and just power wheelie 1st. thats what i always do.
Clutching with second gear at 50km/h wil give you allot of room from 50 to 180 km/h to chase it out.
WHEN I TRY MY REAR WHEEL BEGINS TO SLIDE TO THE SIDE, WHY IS THAT?
real nice ride safe m8
what gear are you using?
32 mph keep that speed switch from the 3rd to the 2nd gear hold the clutch go for 9000 - 9500 rpm and let the clutch

How to whellie an R1...? Hit the gas, lmao. I was 230 lb when i test drove my 1999 R1 and do wheelies on command, lol.
Its not easy dumbass
Does this work for erectile dysfunction
Yes it indeed does
No
Blayne no it doesn’t cause I can’t do it
My cock is fine
First of all if you are on a wheelie then you are not level you said once on a wheelie after that to keep it level, you want to have the front end of bike about 85% grate or height and then keep it balanced, its easierand wiser to use the power of the bike ,if you use the clutch and rpm's very simple to over rev the bike and crash or flip
i always freak out when the wheel comes up cause i feel like it will slip or flip.
the best part is putting it back on the ground without getting a death wobble.
Do wheelie very easy… step 1: open the throttle up like hell… step 2: hospital
You forgot the foot over the back brake.
Song from montage pls??
On what gear?
2nd gear
32 mph keep that speed switch from the 3rd to the 2nd gear hold the clutch go for 9000 - 9500 rpm and let the clutch
she will go straight up so be careful and get off the gas immediately
never found balance point one time
can I do this with just Socks on?
+Johnny B i believe you can
Johnny B lol, bye bye feet.
What's wrong with power wheelies I do them all the time on accident with my r1 lmao
cool video. though the 06 beast she will wheelie by her self anyway clutch wheelie or throttle wheelie wont matter 😂
#1 wear full gear, #2 cover the rear brake, #3 don’t die
Clutch to counter balance
Shes heavy!!!
How far in do you squeeze your clutch?
+carmine lomonaco not all the way, only half with one finger
when you pull the clutch with one finger, do you pull it until it disengage? I mean are you suppose to be able to shift gears when pulling with one finger? I myself hate powerwheelie, I tried few times and its way too agressive...
+Tia no no, i don't shift gears with one finger, when you don't squeez it hard enough, it won't shift.... so i only put it in first already before i start handeling the clutch with one finger to make it wheelie. Ok thanks you! Throttle control! No rear brake. Do you wanna slam your front down or let it loft down lightly??? Brake is used once you get at balance point to control the 12 o'clock position while in wheelie.
Jimmy Sorensen throttle control to ease it down and ride off
What do you do when you don't have balls, like me?
I do both on my 07 r1. Clutch is definitely better
Build up power and 12 o’clock 😂🤣
R1 i just scary fast. I gott 2003.
Crossplane R1s are not this easy to wheelie as in this video. This isn't really applicable to R1s past 08. One of Crossplane design features is to prevent wheelies
False, if anything it is more easy to wheelie because the xplane makes more low/mid range torque compared to a 180 degree crank
yoo nice video helpfull
drive safe, dont crash...
Ik how tk wheelie almost at balance but as gixxer brah said, you should not make a wheele tutorial unless you are a master with the rear brake because you’re just gonna end up making somebody crash
And also don’t slam it down endless you what to have to buy new forks
Dont forget safety tips :D
