Sparmax have some great products. I mentioned on your video a few weeks ago that my first dual action after upgrading from cheap gravity fed was the Sparmax MAX-3. Even after getting a set of procon boy airbrushes, I still use the Sparmax for big sessions like applying primers. I'm limited on space so my setup is a Sparmax ARISM mini compressor and a fold away desktop spray booth (the one for like £80-90 from ebay/aliexpress)

I use my Sparmax Max 3 alongside with my GSI Procon 289. The Sparmax really feels solid, the build feels heavy and durable. It’s been reliable and sprays beautifully. Not as comfortable to hold as my Procon but it still performs great. The trigger is flatter than the Procon’s concave trigger but I’m just nitpicking. Picked mine up from Newtype a while back.

Tamiya has effectively two airbrush ranges. Some are made by Sparmax in Taiwan and others are made in Japan. The Japanese ones have identical parts to some Iwata airbrushes, so its my best guess that is who makes the Japanese ones.

I can recommend all the sparmax airbrushes. Great value and easy to get spares. I recommend these to people new to airbrushing as a good alternative to cheap Chinese knock offs and staying away from the higher end Iwata etc. I still have one set up on 0.4 that's about 9 years old. I did use 0.2 and .3 but these have been replaced, but they work well and occasionally see light of day for things.

Such a workhorse and I would still be using it if it weren’t a pain in the ass to clean that 2mm paint cup and all the splashed paint every single time. Got the much superior Procon boy 270 and 290 listening to your word and loving them. Tho when it came to getting rid of my Sparmax I just couldn’t part my ways with it for sentimental reasons I guess so every now and then I will still use it for simpler purposes lol

Another fantastic airbrush at a great price to make our decision harder.

(Tamiya) At almost double the price! I have a couple of Mastercraft, .3mm needle, airbrushes, trigger type & button type, that work very well, also used with battery portable compressors. Acrylics gives me a hassle to get right, but that's me. Hardest test for airbrush & painter is clear, with color, especially canopies because of the curvature. I have Grex, Paasche, Mastercraft & a no-name brand. I am favoring the Mastercraft airbrushes more & more for my general painting. I use the Grex & Paasche for painting my garden railway (1:20.3) models because of fancap option &/or larger volume of paint output. With the portable compressors, the no-name doesn't work at all but the Mastercrafts have become "go to" for all other smaller model painting. Parts seem readily available on Amazon for both brand names. At the price, you can set up guns with different needle sizes, just color code the handle.
For the average airbrush user, do you really need an expensive airbrush? These inexpensive guns are very good for their price & do an very good job. I have used them to custom paint bicycle parts & touch up car measles (chipped paint) on my car..

Sparmax are great airbrushes, I have an Olympos, a Neo and an Infinity which is beautiful but the trigger is too inconsistent at the price point so I'm looking at either a Creos or one of these.
I've always found Taiwanese goods (RoC) to be of very good quality, much higher than PRC goods and cheaper than Japanese or European products and have no ethical problems with dealing with them.
    A summarised anecdote:
Sturmey-Archer was a subsidiary company of Raleigh bicycles that produced hub gears and was bought by 'Sun' , a Taiwanese company, they bought all the tooling and had it shipped to the factory but then decided that it wasn't up to spec so scrapped it all, started again and now produce hub gears of higher quality than S-A did under Raleigh!

I'm using a Tooty compressor from Spray Gunner. I had troubles spraying Vallejo Air till I stepped up to a larger needle and nozzle. At least a 0.5mm. Certain airbrushes have trouble with Vallejo paints. I use a Badger Patriot 105 when I spray them. And Iwata Eclipse is another airbrush that can push out heavy acrylics. But I think you're going to have to thin them slightly. You can also thin them with Flow Improver. And go with a higher air pressure too
