The VMA are an attendence award and BP was there and got trophies because of it. For unknown reasons the message that BP also won "best group" (?) was given out early and everyone retweeted it.
Sucks to be them because this was taken back during the show and BTS was announced the winner.

Oh and Blackpink are very popular buuut not on the same level as BTS. Cause BTS grew organicly and their fans ARMY made them as popular as they are now not their company Bighit where as Blackpink became popular immidiatly because their company buyed their way to popularity ( if you know what i mean , she mentioned it in the video ). BTS are where they r coz of their global reach but they worked non stop for a decade, more than any1 else and slowly gradually built up fanbase. And throughout the decade they gave original, sincere , diverse and beautiful music and mindblowing performance continuously without break. Also their love for Army is genuine. They made music to make people happy and share their own experience and not with a target to get #1s. This is what is missing from all other groups. Every1 wants Bts level success without doing half as much as them consistently over yrs. Everybody is taking shortcuts, everybody wants to be Bts very quickly. But Bts never took shortcuts and they never made music with the aim to chart. They struggled like hell but never took shortcuts. They always remained sincere....imagine even in 2022 when Bts r on top of the world with all the unimaginable success, money, power...they still give more than 100% intheir music and performance. Frankly they would still sell out any stadium and most albums no matter what music they make. But still im 2022/ 2023 Bts r the hardest workinbmg artists. Simple example is their Run BTS performance in 2022 free Busan concert. Nobody other than Bts can perform like that. And Bts does it even when they dont really need to. Same with their music. In last 1 year all 7 members have put out the most diverse and beautiful music...nobody in kpop is able to match up to that. They made music to show what they are so they made jazz, r&b, ballad and many genre ...they aint fast tiktok music that kpop makes with the aim to get#1 on charts. Bts members cld have easily made catchy fast songs to chart higher, sold 20 versions to get #1s but they dint. They dint compromise on music quality, they dint use cheap tactics to get the numbers even if it meant not getting the numbers and top position on charts. BTS now dont really need to but they still giving us masterpieces that we can cherish for long. Thats Bts. Others dont have this genuinity and sentiment, hence they will never be where Bts are.
_It's important to rememeber that other K-pop groups are doing their own thing, and the ,,next Bts" narrative is pushed by the media _*_only._*_ There's a difference. The companies are pressuring their artists to reach the standard and the work ethic that Bighit and Bts have been cultivating since the beginning. Other idols generally respect and look up to Bts without malice or jealousy. Some even covered their songs and paid homage, because they're fans of their music. Again, it's the nasty media play that is causing the most damage. I particularly hate Billboard for even using this phrase in their articles. It's shameful and disgusting, not to mention debilitating and discouraging to the other artists, who genuinely love music._

It’s not just the beat. BTS has substance to their music, and their lyrics actually means something. And they actually make their music , produce and have quality. Dynamite is a good song but wasn’t written by BTS so I feel their Korean music is much better. Oh and I don’t like black pink at all. They sound and look like most female k pop groups. They don’t participate in a lot of the music they perform. You really only hear about 2 members from black pink , I’ve heard some of their concerts certain members are lazy etc etc. if you like the generic k pop sound that’s fine. But BTS is where they are because they are actual musicians.
not to mention blackpink has some of the worst lyrics, like, who is writing those???

BTS has done what has not been the case for other K Pop groups. BTS has grown in popularity year after year, even continuing to grow while on hiatus and releasing solo works almost exclusively. The following of individual members has grown portending a likely record setting reunion once their military services are complete.
BTS needs to be envisioned based on the normal trajectory of successful K Pop groups. They tend to hold the limelight for a few years then recede into something less in the fore than they were, if they don't simply disband. BTS is a growing behemoth more than a decade in. This has never been seen before.
There will never be another BTS.
Oh and the diffrence between kpop idols and artists is that aritist write AND produce their OWN music where as Idols just sing and dance to songs that their company bought for them.
And im not shitting on Idols becaise singing and dancing is hard to do and it takes great talent buut I dont view Idols on the same light as artist like TXT , Seventeen and ofcourse BTS , because they write and produce their own music 😌 .
Armies everywhere are preparing for BTS world concerts in 2025. The world get ready for BTS come back and world tour in 2025. Even the president of India already promised, the people of India . That he will bring BTS to India for a world concert in 2025.
Every time I hear the song Snooze I cry hard, this song is very deep, It appears that BTS is different from the rest of the singers or the K-pop idols, this song is directed to the Armys, and they are the band fans, since they are all going to the military, every time I feel like I'm crashing out, I hear this song, It's one of the songs that touch me the most strongly, they are talented, very extraordinary and special

Just one thing, this thing about k-pop groups trying to be the next BTS, it's not their fault, the majority of them are the companies that control any of their actions. These idols have nothing to do with this cause, it's all the fault of these companies, before you start blaming another idol.

BTS has their ways, it's BTS-pop not in the kpop category like Suga said in AGUSTD, I don't give a damn about other groups, STFU, and go listen to a different pop group, they are talented, and they are the kings of lyrics, Many are kidnapped by K-pop songs, but, the person who knows the value of hip hop and knows what real music and rap are, is the one who appreciates BTS, for me they are the best, the lyrics of their songs are always legendary, and no one can beat the beats they make or their delivery, they are kings, And they did not reach this stage like the rest of the singers, but they got very tired and worked hard until their ass got shattered, they deserve the best, not because they are famous, but because they paved the way, because they are the best!

Honestly, I know that there is often a lot of outrage at other people copying BTS, but I just find them funny at most. Generally, I don't care, but some of them are actually hilarious. And it's not like we have any reason to feel insecure or threatened by copycats. So yeah, I don't really care other than having a good laugh sometimes 😆

Not really.
The second break was after the Permission to Dance concerts in LA in late 2021 for a few months. They opened IG accounts and gave the fans a run around.
WE were not on break. (and the members all got Covid among other things)
Back in action they were for the Grammy's in 2022 and the concerts in Borahegas.
34:31 that is true... their first break was in 2019, it was only a few months long but it was necessary as 2018-2019 was the hardest times of their entire career. They had insane burn outs and no rest at all, they were almost going to disband and most members thought of quitting music. They even wrote a fairwell song for the members in case they were gonna disband (song name - outro:tear).
Currently their second break is going on, they started this break in June 2022 and it will end in 2025
one of the reasons bts is bts because of their passion for music and love for fans
there is no similar song/album in their discography
they have written, their own music since their debut and even before

Every time I mention BTS to an acquaintance or family member they go "oh kpop" like BTS' name is interchangeable with the term. I find it extremely ironic that they have become the face of kpop so to speak because the kpop industry from the beginning rejected them for being from a small poor company and the Big 3 have had monopoly on the industry, still does really. Veteran army or ones that have been there during BTS early years know how horribly they were treated and their "Beyond the Story" Book mentions some instances of how terribly the were treated from the get go. Now everyone wants to kiss up to them to their face anyways while still doing dirty crap behind their backs like allegedly buying awards in American shows and paying reporters to write negative or misleading articles about them name dropping their artists as a better group etc. I feel many army myself included have extremely complex mixed feelings about the label "K-pop" because of how the industry treated them and because they have had creative control of their music since the beginning something most kpop groups don't have, we are starting to see newer generations of kpop groups get it now but I believe it's because of artists like BTS that that is happening as people want to replicate their success. And the western media likes to use the "kpop" label to exclude BTS from winning main awards categories by creating separate kpop categories and charts. OR they label anything the members do as "kpop" even when they sing an All English song or release a feature like Suga on a Juice Wrld song, "Girl of My Dreams" was only added to kpop playlists on spotify etc but never added to rap or hip hop playlists despite it being a song by an American Rapper on a rap album, just because a BTS member was a feature on it.

Technically speaking the stadium thing is not quiet true anymore.
Both Twice and BP booked real stadiums in the West.
Twice sold out both stadiums in the USA it seems - BP? Well... they gifted quiet a few tickets and it was not sold out despite them saying so and they also filled up Stade de France but the press was not impressed at all - and well we kinda doubt the numbers/real sales.
Nevertheless BP's label tried to pretend they had more tickets sold than BTS at their last real tour - which was before the pandemic - by trying to count the numbers at the festivals BP also attended. Funnily enough BP were also at more venues than BTS for their tour. No idea if the money they supposedly made is real either but I give them the benefit of the doubt for that at least.
Fun Facts:
Twice actually sold more albums last year than BP in the USA, had the higher Spotify numbers on the US charts and became the first grilgroup to have a pure 1 million album sale in the USA.

No one is pushing TXT to be the "next BTS" but maybe the industry. They are pretty much treated like BTS younger brothers by the members themselves and the label does not push the narrative.
Stray Kids have their own founding lore and their rapline actually is pretty much writing their whole discography and that is official aknowledged. Their song credits are impressive and you can look up the list on wikipedia. (I don't think it is my music so I don't listen and the lyrics I looked up did not impress me but maybe I'm just missing context) Personally I think their label may be pushing but the group itself does not. They ADMIRE BTS.
And that is only about the artists I do know about a little. Most of the time the label is the problem not the artist.
I don't think any talented wanted to become BTS, never heard that before or now. Even TXT, lol! Most new kpop group know who they want to become, obviously not BTS!

I’d say Blackpink is not as popular as BTS but they are popular among the girl grps. But overall, men or women, BTS is way more popular.
