I think it’s quite simple, we have The Star Wars Core, which is Episode I-VI and The Clone Wars, because those come directly from George Lucas. Then from here we branch off into Star Wars Legends, which was everything built on top of that before the Disney acquisition (tv shows, mostly games, books and comics and secondary literature) and the new Star Wars Canon, which is build on top of the „core“ separately and occasionally draws upon Legends for inspiration. The biggest novelty is that the canon also includes movies and live action tv shows and animated shows.

I have gotten a lot of people to love star wars! But i never thought about telling them to start with A New Hope! 😂😂😂 always Phantom Menace! 😅😊

I started with The Phantom Menace too, but I fully believe that if someone is starting Star Wars and genuinely knows nothing, then preserving The Empire Strikes Back twist is ideal. It of course also depends on the person. I've had friends that have very little interest in older films who wanted to watch Star Wars, and I recommended they start with The Phantom Menace. You can't really go wrong either way, but I do think starting with the originals allows maximum enjoyment of both the franchise's twists and turns as well as the way the series rolls out the Star Wars lore and rules.

I know it’s said that Star Wars should be watched chronologically but I started with the original trilogy. I think this is better because it’s hard to compare the modern prequels to the original trilogy.

I agree. I started with The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones (Revenge of the Sith wasn’t out yet). Beginning with the Original Trilogy preserves the best twists in the franchise and helps ease newcomers into the lore.

I have to disagree on the suggested watch order for first time viewers. George Lucas has always said that Star Wars was meant to be experienced chronologically. Star Wars first and foremost is myth, a story that it is told in the medium of cinema, but... myth first and cinema medium second. I say that because if someone wants to experience Star Wars for the first time, that means the myth, the story and as Lucas said the correct order is chronological. The question would be do you want the full Star Wars experience (which includes all the audio-visual content which would start with some chapters of Tales of the Jedi that you correctly put in order in the last segment of the video) or the "short" Star Wars experience which would include mainly the movies I - IX and highly suggested Obi-Wan-Kenobi, Andor and Rogue One.
Personally I also include original CW 2003 to start the period of the Clone Wars but I have edited myself a version that is canon friendly. Three volumes. The first volume is basically everything until the knighthood of Anakin and I only removed the Mon Cala battle with Kit Fisto. After that you go with the standard chronological order of 2008 TCW. Then volume II of edited CW which puts together all the mission to Nelvaan with Obi-Wan and Anakin which starts with the original montage of 2003 CW that shows Anakin as a Jedi knight. I put that volume right after the arc where Ahsoka leaves the Jedi Order. And then volume III of 2003 CW that I did for myself puts together the entire invasion to Coruscant and starts with the separatist and the Outer Rim sieges. After that, you jump inmediatly to the first episode of the Siege of Mandalore arc, then Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and then the remaining 3 episodes of Siege of Mandalore. Fantastic experience.
    Greetings guys!

Those are all fair points. I started with The Phantom Menace, and I still believe the best way to begin is by watching A New Hope. Regardless of what George Lucas says, the Prequels tell their story assuming you know the stories of Episodes 4-6. In my opinion, that is to the detriment of the twists (specifically the Empire twist) and the world building of the originals. For example, A New Hope takes the time to explain the lore and rules of the Star Wars galaxy, while also delivering a lot of the original world building for the universe. That film can come across a bit repetitive or slow in its first act if you are already familiar with the world from the Prequels. Each of the three original trilogy films continue to do the same in terms of world building and lore. The prequels are still fine to begin with. I just personally feel they aren't as beginner friendly as the OT.

Bro, I am seriously confused again. I am starting. I don't know anything about Star Wars. Should I watch Episode IV-VI and then Episode I-III. And then visit everything chronologically with 17:22? Should this be the right order? Please reply.

Yes, you should start with the essentials that I listed at the beginning of the video. Those essentials include (in order): Episodes 4-6 then Episodes 1-3. You will need to have seen those 6 movies to be able to consume any other Star Wars media. After that, it is really up to you how deep down the Star Wars rabbit hole you'd like to go. That's why I provided individual watching orders for Disney Star Wars, Star Wars Live-Action TV, and Star Wars Animation. If you want to be a completionist and watch everything, then I recommend again starting with Episodes 4-6 then 1-3, then moving on to the complete chronological watching timeline at the end of the video. I hope that answered your question. I'm also happy to answer anything else you might be confused about as well.

Possible hot take but I do actually think you should start with the original trilogy. As much as we all hate to admit it there are some plot inconsistencies between revenge of the sith and a new hope, plus the leap backwards technologically can be a bit jarring for first time viewers. I think an experienced Star Wars fan who’s already aware of all of this should watch them however they want to, but for a beginner the original trilogy will be most likely to make them fall in love with the Star Wars universe, and it will also make the prequels hit that much harder on an emotional level knowing what comes next. I also think it’s cooler if you save the best lightsaber duels for last, because let’s be honest, the ones in the original trilogy are lame
Edit for new Star Wars fans: the skywalker saga sucks and I don’t consider it canon
