@@ozmond Trust me, it doesnt hurt me as much as it will hurt Sony. I find it stupid some decisions that Sony makes, like they did with abandoning the PsVita, but at the end of the day, I'm not the one losing money

You could buy this then replace the board with a sbc like the latta panda, buy separate joysticks and wires for power buttons, start, select etc & Portable power bank, connect everything to the latta panda. Might take some tinkering but u could play any emulator and some low spec pc games on the go it would be awesome.
I can notice the input lag just by watching the video

I got mine today. I actually do like this device quite a bit! After watching this review I was feeling a little bit disappointed. When I got my hands on it though, it's not bad at all for the price. It has a nice glossy black and white finish. There is some weight to it which feels nice and the buttons in my opinion are pretty good. Stereo speakers, always a plus. When it comes to performance, it doesn't run the most demanding games, but most of these cheap devices doesn't either. In the end, there is still a truckload of games it does run, so that's great. 😀👍

I am still stunned that these devices still have horrible D-pads. I get that there are price points - but why the crap can they not do it right? To me it makes no sense to have the ability to run PS or better - but have horrible controls! To me I want the thing to respond so I can enjoy playing a game. Regardless of the era. And you would think they see your review and others out there.... and they STILL DON'T GET IT???? What is the world coming to... Personal note: Love your channel - it is my favorite of the review types on YT. I'm glad you found your stride - even with the grind of these videos. I am sure it can be a challenge mentally and emotionally. Thank you for your hard work and quality.

That crazy d-pad could actually be good, I've built a few mame systems in the day, Playing 4-way games on a 8-way joystick isn't very good, you get stuck when your trying to move. Games like pac-man, frogger etc this is where this sort d-pad might actually be very good, I don't own one but I if you have chance try to play pac-man on it, let us know :)

The design doesn’t look that bad for a unibody handheld. Any Bluetooth for headphones and or controllers?

It is basically the same as the other x-models technically, the "value" is just the design; and it is not power that is lacking, but optimized emulators, a better solution/mod for the d-pad and some repairs; it has a decent enough screen and dual speakers
someone from the Tech Toy Tinker and Retro Arena community sent their lead developer one, so we will see what happens.

Definitely not the best emulation handheld I've seen, but not the worst either. Seeing it struggle with SNES and it somehow handling 3D somewhat well is such a contradiction.Would make for such a sweet little dedicated classic Pokémon machine or something!

Cheers Wicked, top tier naughty handheld. Design is really sharp. Shell quality, software and performance same old trash though. Nearly worth it just for the way it looks, but ultimately it's a hard pass.
Yeah it's so a bummer they did not ask 30 usd more and slapped some good hardware / software in this.

Hi wicked i wanted to ask a question ,i wanna make me a sorta entertainment/retro gaming device on the cheap so now im watching tons of videos about media boxes and mini pcs and i wanna ask which do you think will be better for setup should i use a media box or mini pc ,i want to at least emulate psp games at 2x resolution but i also wanna keep the electric consumption low whats your opinion?

Mini PC's getting way more power now.
Look into the N100 intel chipset for lowbudget.
If you have some money to spend look into AMD 7xxx serie mini pc's.

It actually looks rather nice. It's a shame there's so many cheap cutbacks. I also really like the main interface menu. Looks cleaner than many other far more expensive devices.

Sony already F'd up with their PlayStation Portal, instead of giving us a proper portable handheld like a successor to the PS Vita, they give us a Nintendo Wii U, and now China wants to upstage them.
I think many people are so angry at sony with portal.

@@WickedGamerCollector It's not a bad idea to have a streaming device, but I wish they would also give it the capability to run its own library of games, like the Vita, which ironically could also stream PS4 through remote play. Maybe one day Sony will release a successor to the Vita.

I’ve been working on cfw (primarily mainline Linux) for my x51 (atm7051), so it’s just a matter of time. Wish I could get my hands on the kernel/u-boot source code for atm7051 as it’s a bit different from s500

I would look into Windows X86 handheld in my opinion.
All of them (android) will have limits when it comes to N64 if you want 100% support for all games.
Yeah we have super powerful android machine only they cost simple 300 / 400 us each.
