Guitarist Jeff's technique is absolutely amazing.
Seen these guys with Testament at the Vic Theater in Chicago back in 1989 . My neck was sore for like a week from all the head banging. Excellent show!! 🤘

Just out of curiousity, do the guys that collect Vinyl of albums like this, do you actually listen to the records? Or do you just collect them and keep them unopened and appreciating in value? I have a massive CD collection that isn't worth a pot to p!ss in now. I regret not collecting them in Vinyl instead of CD. Although the price of some low production number CDs are starting to be expensive to buy now, hopefully they come back in value like records did but not holding my breath! Anyways, Congrats on the Red Alice Album!

I remember like it was yesterday, it was the year I graduated high school. The ads in the metal mags back in the day were advertising this new band from Canada called Annihilator, and I couldn't wait for April of '89 for this release to hit the record stores. The local college station had a metal program, and they debuted the song "Wicked Mystic", and blew my mind! The day it was released, I eagerly grabbed it off the metal shelf and was hooked! I honestly believe that if this album came out a year or two earlier, they would have been a bigger name in the genre. Unfortunately, as many would remember, 1989 was the beginning of the end for the thrash metal scene. Other great bands like Sanctuary, Forced Entry, Paradox, and Mortal Sin unfortunately suffered the same fate.
Nearly Progressive metal.
One of the best metal albums. Period.

I fell in love with this album as soon as I heard Crystal Ann... I was starting to play the guitar and this intro was just awesome for me, great album and still a great band 🤘
Intro to this album is one of the most memorable heavy metal pieces.
I fucking knew it. I swear this song just came up in my head randomly this week and today again. I knew the cover had a girl and a window and I was pretty sure it was very similar to Dream Theater's Images and World album cover (cover is also a girl with a window) but I just could not fucking remember and I was pretty sure either stairs or some kind of inclined floor was present. Another thing I just randomly remembered was it starting with A or An for some reason. Searched for Avantasia album covers with 0 luck. I also know some guy in the comments wrote that this song had a big intro in terms of diffrent played riffs (I remembered him saying 12), searched for that, 0 interesting results, then this showed up. I swear, I found peace after finding this just now, I can fucking sleep now. Thanks for reading.

I listening this album almost 1000 times.First time 1990 and Neverland was for me premier.Strange because I from Poland and at this time was Black pirates cassette market,and we have almost every album from the world.Trashers love this album..Rush and Judas mix..plus little Slayer..slava
Gods how I played this album continuously for MONTHS back in 89 and 90! First found them at a tape, album and CD shop....can't really find rhose places anymore sadly. Thanks for posting this! Really brings back good memories for me!

@@xtremeunderratedmusic To me the problem was Waters himself. All vocalists have similarities, but he changed his sound way too much over the years, and not always that worked. Still love the band though, you naver know what to expect.

It is a very good example of sophisticated, technical, refined yet hard and heavy music. Unprectability, intriguing breakdowns, asymmetrical rhythms, classical music influences- you name it, they've got it! And when needed, they don't let you get bored by putting some old school headbanging stuff into the brew. A truly remarkable album in many ways

Alice in Hell is the debut studio album by Canadian thrash metal band Annihilator, released on April 17, 1989 through Roadrunner Records. This was the only Annihilator album for ten years to feature Randy Rampage on vocals, until he returned for their seventh studio album Criteria for a Black Widow (1999).
Although the album's insert lists five members, Annihilator was a three-piece (Randy Rampage, Jeff Waters and Ray Hartmann) at the time of its recording in 1988. In addition to guitar, Waters provides bass and backing vocals on the album, produced it and wrote all the songs, with the exception of "Crystal Ann". Although Anthony Brian Greenham and Wayne Darley are noted on the album's insert as playing guitar and bass respectively, this was a mistake and they did not join Annihilator until after Alice in Hell was finished; Darley does, however, provide backing vocals on the album. From this album only listened to Crystal Ann, Alison Hell and Human Insecticide. On "Never, Neverland" loved every song.
I heard these songs very infrequently in the 1980's and 1990's in The US. Why in the hell is that? Did they piss off a US executive? This shit is so awesome.
