Because of him only Manmohan Singh became finance minister and economic reforms happened. Fittest person for this award.

This is a long overdue award for the man that brought India into the age of development. He took a lot of heat for the changes he brought including from his own party, the Congress. Even after the news, they have shown themselves to be without class. Voters should avoid them like the plague.

PV deserves the award for executing economic reforms because at least 2-3 generations owe their careers to PV and Manmohan Singh. But BJP-RSS is giving him the award for helping them bring down babri masjid. PV was a great PM but he was also a Brahmin and let himself get carried away by BJP-RSS agenda. Congress was justifiably upset with him because he helped BJP-RSS in the demolition by purposely not responding to calls and for allowing the demolition to happen. Because of the demolition Congress lost elections in 1996 and obviously that soured the relations between PV and Congress.

@@kvishnup Thank you for your comment. I had heard this criticism against him and have done some research on the matter and it doesn't appear to be so. One of the most revealing interviews I saw was between him and Karan Thapar which is on RUclips. It is clear to me that he sent forces in ahead of the demonstration for the state government to use but they did not, possibly for their own ends. It's worth watching. He didn't shy away from Karan's Monday morning quarterbacking.

@@JoeBlimey yes I have seen that interview and Thapar did a great job in the way he questioned....if you notice he managed to capture the evasiveness in PV's responses to questions on his capability to stop the demolition. I am especially doubtful of PV's intentions because PV is no ordinary politician, he is extremely clever and was hailed as modern day "chanakya". He couldn't have been fooled by Advani and Kalyan Singh. There is definitely a possibility that he chose to turn a blind eye to the incident. Of course nobody can ever prove this...it is just my opinion based on my observations of his political personality in those days🙂

The Secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Geir Lundestad, asserts, "Undoubtedly, the greatest omission in our 106-year history is that Mahatma Gandhi never received the Nobel Peace Prize." While the Nobel Prize would not have made any difference to Mahatma Gandhi, not awarding him the Nobel Prize diminished his status. Similarly, by awarding the Bharat Ratna to PVN, at least the status is regained

PV ka samay ya nuclear weapon first testing ke baad Bharat ke saath worldwide terrorism protector ne kya kiya?
1947 men tukade tukade karaane se fayda kaunsa veto ko hua?
Padosi veto ko ya saath samundar paar ka veto ko?

Yes 100%.bcoz as he was from 3% [ brahmin, vaish, kshatriya, upper caste]so it is easy to handle him by right wings, and as usual he helped them in demolishing Babri masjid.

What’s wrong with you. On one side you talk about north and sounth. He was a South Indian and he changed our economy, he crushed miltiancy in J&K and Punjab. So what if he was a Brahmin. How does that matter if he was a Dalit or anyone else. And yeah don’t support babri demolition but one has to ask did Muslims miss a trick by not giving it up and not allow this movement to get this far. Now it looks like they will ask for gyanvaapi and mathura where even more evidence for destruction of temples occur. I think Muslims could have come half way. IMHO.

Instead of Bharata rathna a new award by name" partners in Babri masjid demolish sahaya rathna." shall be introduce by Midi.
