I also found out that I was expecting in January 2019, early February. I packed up my life and moved home to Ohio after 20 years in my new home Vegas. I also was told after my daughter was born she failed her newborn hearing exam. We were referred to Nationwide Children's hospital for further testing. I found out at 3 weeks old my daughter was profoundly deaf in her left ear and significantly-profoundly deaf in right. She had her cochlear implant surgery August 5th of 2020 at 10 months old. It has been an emotional roller-coaster and an amazing experience for me as a single mother. I can't believe she will be 3 on October 7th. I think your son is going to do great things in this world, as I know my daughter Justice will as well.
Thank you for Sharing! I'm sure Justice is already doing great things in the world and will continue to do so!! You're one strong mama! Keep it up girl!! And don't forget to take time for yourself too ❤️😉
You are my hero. More mommas like you please! As a deaf educator I tell you you are making a difference raising him to be aware of deaf culture as well as spoken language! Love from Paraguay!
You and your husband are an inspiration to others dealing with the diagnose of a deaf child or a child with a disability. You and your husband are learning as you go along and I love that you don't limit Coop's abilities and let him fly.
He is so beautiful my daughter has been losing her hearing a little at a time since preschool she is in 5th grade right now and has hearing aids in both ears she watches your family and thinks that Cooper is the cutest thing in the world.
Nope...not just you LOL. I used to be a paeds nurse and just loved seeing kids faces light up when their implants were activated. That never got old :)
Nope, I was absolutely crying! With joy that such a sweet and beautiful angel baby has wonderful loving and caring parents! So sweet and I pray that you hold your sweet angel tight! ❤
Im a mother of 2 kids with bilateral cochlear implants, Mu son was 18 months when diagnosed, and 2 months when implanted. My daughter was implanted at 9 months old. This at the time was the youngest patient in the Midwest to receive 2 implants at the same time. Your videos are pretty much a spitting image of what our lives have been. Coop reminds of us our our son. Hilarious, and constantly talking. Just cracks me up. I felt every ounce of your worry when you said " I wonder what life would be like", Man, I said the exact same thing. We went to an auditory oral pre-K school. where it taught them the methodology of listening, focused on speaking clearly, and basically teaching them two years above their grade level so they would be on the same page as their peers once mainstream. They excelled in school with a 4,0 and a 4,7 GPA. My son is now 20 yrs old in college, thriving on hos way to Med school. My daughter is finishing up her senior year in high school and has won awards in Engineering. So if you wonder what Coops future looks like, just remember this story. You are CRUSHING it and these videos bring me so much joy. I promise you it gets easier You are doing everything right, keep up the great work, mom.
😢That moment when those hearing aids came off and his crying stopped immediately...How crazy it must feel to hear the way he does. You did such a great job you two! Coop is the best! I hope school won't crush him. I have a bad bad relationship to schools and had a bad time myself, so never mind my gloom!! Just...kids can be mean. I kinda feel for him. I'll be wishing luck 🤞🤞🤞🤞 when those days arrive
Thanks for sharing your story! Watching your videos, I think it would be really cool if you were interviewed on Special Books for Special Kids. I want to know more about how you balance speech and sign language with cooper, and just curious in general!
Thank you for sharing your story Beth!!We love watching you and Coop!!my first grader daughter wants to learn sign language so that one day when she meets coop they can sign with each other
I know as his parents you would think he's the cutest, sweetest little guy and assume you're being biased but from a very objective standpoint I'm certain he's the cutest, sweetest little guy I've ever seen! Hi little voice just gets me everytime too. You are blessed.
Oh, I just cried like a baby……what a beautiful momma you are sweet, sweet girl. Whoever is filming (daddy) is just incredible at capturing all the amazing moment in this little persons life. Thank you for sharing!!!
I have to admit that it's a joy to watch your channel. Your little Coop is such a winner! I love everything you show us with him. I have several deaf friends who are against cochlear implants but I'm so glad you gave him this gift.
Your message reminds me of the truth revealed in the movie Collateral Beauty. Good things come from bad things... and when shared can multiply to infinity. Cooper may well be the first deaf President someday...
In December last year, at 5 weeks old, we got the diagnosis that our daughter is deaf. On days where its a massive struggle to keep hearing aids in or to stop her trying to eat them or I'm stressing about learning BSL or any of the other stresses that come with raising deaf child, seeing how amazingly Copper is doing puts a smile on my face and tells me to keep going. that we will get there
My daughter was born completely blind in both eyes she has Septo Optic Dysplasia her name is Jacey she also has Asperger Syndrome I can relate having a child born without one of their 5 senses it is life changing to say the least it has been an amazing journey she is now 20 years old and everyday I wake up I thank God he chose me to be her Mother she shows me what the true meaning of Life is if the world could see through Jacey’s Eyes it would be a much better place you have been blessed with one of Gods Little Angels!!
I stumbled on your channel after going through my own journey. You have given me the motivation to keep going with my own son. Though my son can hear, he has his own medical issues because he was born 5 months early in June of 2020. I have kept you guys in my prayers and hoped we would run into each other.
So what is his condition called that causes him to look, and behave absolutely perfect?!?! He was the most perfect looking baby and an absolute doll of a child!!!
Many many years ago, there was a show called "Signing Time" on PBS, their story is similar to yours. I haven't forgotten that show simply because of how much it touched my heart much like yours does
What condition was this baby born with? I have watched video's trying to find out. I notice the shape of his eyes and head also. He is such a darling. God bless him.❤
I cried too. He's a super sweet boy! I love your updates and seeing your shorts on RUclips too. I understand now why you take away his ears and I wish I was able to convey how much you have opened my eyes to how this effects people. You have done an amazing job at helping soo many people understand the kind of issues you deal with. I wish people would learn tolerance and to be more understanding of something they don't "get" your son is perfect 👌 much love to you all. Xxxxxxxx
You are CRUSHING the parenting thing! It is much harder with the addition of needed advocacy, but you have clearly risen to the challenges! Thank you for sharing your journey and your beautiful little nugget with us all!
I've been watching your posts for about 6 months, and I love them! Cooper is so fun, and I love his little personality. He is not going to let anything stop his curiosity in life. You and your husband are phenomenal parents! I admire you all very much...

I have fallen down the rabbit hole of your content, and my god are you guys just the cutest. The way you handle the downs of this difficult journey, or at least what we see, are so inspirational. You’re doing great. Please keep it up.
I'm so happy to see even though some things were unexpected you are having a beautiful parenting and life journey with your child and even when you felt sad you didn't let that hold you back. Hope you 3 are blessed with so many better wonderful days. Also I'm now realising coop resembles his dad. What a cute family you guys are. Best wishes ❤
This is so sweet and inspiring! My baby sister was born prematurely and with a heart defect which has made her fall behind physically, but I know she's hitting the milestones at her own pace. Thank you for sharing your story and helping me cope with my sister. 🫶🥹
