Thank you! It is highly appreciated to read such an encouraging comment from someone who seems to be a great admirer of Artaud as well. I've ordered his novel, "Heliogabalus, or The Crowned Anarchist" recently, and I wish I had learned more about it before making this video, because it seems like a core work of his genius. I look forward to reading it!
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate your encouraging words. The more I learn about this fascinating author and read his works, the more I realize that my video only scratched the surface of Artaud's monumental thought. However, I am happy to reach out to fellow readers of his writings, and share his ethos with the world.
Certainly he didn't know, the "best"(debatable) way he'd be remembered is as a character in a Hearts of Iron IV mod, where he abolishes reality itself.
Thank you for your comment! Indeed, he was far ahead of his time. Unlike most of his contemporaries (including Breton and the surrealists) and even most intellectuals of today, he did not seek a political revolution, but a metaphysical revolution.
Thank you for your comment! To explain myself, I mentioned in the video that Artaud’s Greek origins allowed him to connect with ancient theatre as a whole. Perhaps I should have specified ancient Greco-Roman theatre, but I suppose that in my mind, in his European context, “ancient”encompassed both the ancient Greek and Roman worlds. My apologies if that was not clear
@@louishillenbrand1735 Yes, I think it would be really help if you made that clear. After all there is a very considerable difference between, say, Sophocles and Seneca.
lets be honest we all are gamer from the red flood mod and then got in this shit for real
yes
great vid for such an intriguing and fascinating man, good job.

Fun fact: He was also the first to put the words "virtual" and "reality" together in writing.
