Three Kingdoms Zhuran Bow by AF Archery

- AF Archery Zhuran, based on the ZhuRan artwork of the late Han-Three Kingdoms Era bows used by the elite. These were likely bamboo core, horn sinew composite bows used for recreational uses. Your average chinese recurit in the Kingdom of Wu would have used Bamboo Wood laminated bows instead of horn and sinew due to the ease of mass production.

Been a while since you made a full video. Good to be back :)
Those are beautiful! Thanks for your video's!
Jack. I did not intend to interfere with your video. You do good holsom work. I very much enjoy your content.
My intention is that folks have knowledge of the businesses they are dealing with.
This is an important tool for stress relief when nobles are making decisions on politics and strategy
Exactly
Zhuran, the Chinese name of this bow, is a military general of three kingdoms. The bow is based on an archeological find of their bow artwork
I think it's a very nice bow and AF has greatly improved its product quality. There will always be people who don't like it for various reasons but in the end it's up to each person to make the decision to buy a bow to practice and have fun. Thanks for sharing this review.😊
@miguelveratraditionalarche9374 I agree the quality of the products has improved. HuntingDoor had gotten better. If I had known AF was part of HuntingDoor I would not have ordered product from them no matter the product improvement.
@@stevenparsons4464where’s the evidence af is part of hunting door
Great bow
Great review, Jack. The long draw is impressive! Best wishes

Any recommendations for a glove/tab for shooting heavy bows? I have no issues with the draw weight of my 100lb English long bow, but my gloves I use for my 55lb bow just isn't enough protection. Thinking about crafting my own if I cant find something or get something custom made...
I would look on 3 Rivers archery and buy a 3 Rivers Shooting glove, one that is same thing as the Brian Furguson model with the same overlays but is cheaper by about $9.00 because the compass is not included.
Now you can shoot the arrows back from the straw boats
❤
Can you make a video about holding and shooting the bow without getting slapped by the string.
I saw a video about it and I think you have to slightly twist the bow to the left slightly if you hold the bow with your left hand, and slightly right if you hold it with your right hand. Again, I cant fully remember so you should search it up.
Khatra, you can jack doesn’t even wear an arm guard
Have your bow arm elbow facing more outward instead of down. You can add khatra as well.
These are proto Manchu

Ofc this gets the most upvotes while being unrelated to the video
What are the arrows you are using?
The thick measuring arrow is homemade while the rest are from alibow carbon or accomos which can reach 34” of draw length
@@HistoricalWeapons thanks
It looks great. Btw, what is the name of the quiver that you are using?
It’s one of those cheap leather quivers from aliexpress
Too bad af doesnt make laminate warbows for you. They only go up to 50 pound 28
Sanding sports is making one
@@HistoricalWeapons whats that???
You could made a bow backed with jade dust: inefficient and expensive
Theoretically you can grind jade into tiny jade dust and glue it on the back…though it would be terribly costly and useless. I haven’t found evidence of it. That being said, gluing whole jade pieces and gluing it on the bow especially on the non bending portions is quite feasible
Any chance you have any data on the bows that Vietnam used against the Mongol invasions? I've been hunting for years, and for the life of me, I can't find anything.
Mostly bamboo wood laminated of D shape with some recurve tips
@@HistoricalWeapons Know anyone who makes em? Or something close to a replica that's probably of more modern materials too.
Why did you change the title?

Dude, thank to you i build my own personal chinese cavalry crossbow. The arrows? It shot Chinese chopsticks with a nail as cap. Very and maybe too successful for the first try 🤔. Know what? Imma build a balista now.

Where can I buy a good sling?
You can easily make one with duct tape

Jade isn’t flexible
Be careful doing business with AF Archery. They are sketchy on shipping. They stiffed me for 3 paid for strings. Buyer be ware.
Stiffed you? What does that mean?
@Therealbritishempire I ordered a customized Ming style bow
The order included 3 extra strings
a usual thing I do. The bow was miss sent. Missing for days by the shipping company. When it was finally located, it appeared to be repackaged the strings missing.
I contacted HuntingDoor's, AF Archery's parent company. Their customer service was very rude saying I was trying to swindle them.
They stiffed me out of my paid items
They're alright, good if you lose a package or get wrong order, but they do take awhile to ship. I like working with ShanShan from AF.
@@stevenparsons4464 Ooh that's not very good. I was gonna buy a bow from them, do you think it's worth it?
@@TL_27 It was ShanShan who was rude to me despite my evidence of paying for extra strings. Be careful doing business with HuntingDoor.
