GUYS! Renner is NOT playing Jason Bourne. He is play Aaron Cross, an OUTCOME agent. Bourne was a TREADSTONE agent. Jesus, stop freaking out over nothing. They might be making this movie as a set up to get both characters in a movie. I think the absence of Paul Greengrass as director is an even bigger worry. His frenetic energy, commitment to realism and great sense of pacing made the series what it is. Bloody hell, the editing in those movies is so crisp and fluid the only way this can work is if they outright copy his style.

To me Jeremy's performance in the hurtlocker was an excellent effort that showed the struggle of soldiers who have to deal with the morality stress and fear of occupying a nation with a hostile faction at work. to me a warrior should be able to show strength in the face of fear and compassion in the face of pain. its not an easy thing to do.

I'm a huge fan of this series and love Damon, but you know what, Renner is an amazing choice for the leading role in the new Bourne movie. Renner is one of my favorite actors and very capable of accomplishing this role and doing it justice. And it's not like he's the new Bourne, it's a completely different character and I know that I will still love this movie.
They are still filming the movie so the trailer is mostly expected to come this month since they will finish shooting in like a few days or week. Plus, Jeremy Renner is a great actor whose fame is slowly growing. I'll admit the series won't be the same w/o Matt Damon cause I consider him as one of the greatest actors and is the one and only Bourne but I think Renner can still do a good job and he is playing a different character, Aaron Cross. Its a series of books that have been written well before this movie was even a twinkle in a producers eyes...the story is not an issue. Question us : can renner deliver? I think the warm up from ghost protocol was not at all bad and hopefully this will spring him into blockbuster status. But, only the performance itself can answer that. I'm gonna go see it.
I saw all the others films in the movie theater and purchased the 3 DvDs. I will not be funding this one in any form. I'll watch it on cable, when it's released on HBO or Showtime though.

I think Jeremy Renner is a good actor, it's just weird for me to see him in these big Hollywood movies since I know him for his roles in small indie films like "DAHMER", "12 AND HOLDING", and "THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS"....
Why the need to prefer one over the other? I like them both, Damon put the franchise on the map. Renner breathed new life into it, telling the story from the POV of a different protagonist. Plus Bourne and Cross are different type of Agents, in terms of function and skill set. If would be great if they teamed up in a future sequel, but I can live with it if they don't. Cross's story is interesting enough to me, I'd welcome a contuation with just that character. Just my opinion.
Part 4 Ok, for all of you who disagree, my question is who will play as jason bourne. Only one i'd buy as a successor to Matt Damon as bourne-Mark Wahlberg. Good actor,usually portrays such characters in other movies too,plus the biggest bonus,they look alike!

Part 3 i have no hard feelings against any actors, in fact i like I like Jeremy Renner. he did a fantastic job in his movies specially the hurt locker it was legit trust me when i tell you, i have done time in the service and overseas and that was one of the best and legit military movies made. but that itself can not replace Matt Damond.

Jeremy Renner is the best choice for Legacy. They read my thoughts when they decided to pick him. He was awesome in Hurt Locker

I think they couldnt have picked a better time to replace Matt Damon. Edward Norton is what makes the transistion easier. Not the old timers.
