Wiley on Missing Shows Over Threats, Going Crazy, Never Snitching

- British rapper, Wiley, opened up about old school English gangsters trying to extort him when he gained popularity as a rapper. Wiley says he didn't bother going to the police, just because of street code, but he says that he prevented them from catching up with him and even missed show appearances. While trying to keep himself in the clear, he admits that he created a defense mechanism and overcame his fear.
In a previous interview with Boosie, the Baton Rogue artist explained that it was necessary for rappers to leave their hometowns because of the hate that came with their success, and despite being "across the pond," Wiley reveals that this is his way of thinking as well.

Gotta pay props to the Godfather! Wanna know how deep it got for him in the scene? Example: the days he was still mainly around Bow when Rhythm Division was still open for him to push his stuff, the height of his beefs with Tu Tuff especially, I remember walking up the Road and see him near Roman Road. All i did was shout, 'Wiley!' Gosh, youd never seen a man so on edge. All I asked was when he is next on Rinse and give him his dues. You could see from his reply the level of relief from the dude, like as if to say 'Thank God, its not sum1 coming to beef for a change.' Even he said in RWD Mag afterwards it was getting to the point he was getting fed up with the beefs due to stabbings and having Kids to think about. But props for his perseverance. Just goes to show a man with vision doesnt stop his hustle...
