- Firewood production in the woodyard is constant and we just got a pile pile of mixed hardwood done today and it is about 8-10 full cords of wood that needs to be put in the bin now to dry!
Great to see you do family first. Hope the son's visit was outstanding 👍👍👍
It was! Thanks!
We don't have elm in our area but it looks like it can be a pain. Looks like a great day to be in the woodyard I'm now fully caffeinated and motivated.
Yes it was! Thanks
G’morning Chris. Awesome job taking the bigger pieces and making them into littler pieces. Really socked it to ‘em !
GoodNightIrene
Yup, I am working on getting my Masters degree in smallerizing.
Damnit boy!
You do a lot of editing. I hope everyone appreciates that aspect of making videos everyday, and making them interesting to watch. When I used to work on movie sets, and sitting in on the editing, a 5 second scène would be exceptionally long. Most shots are only 3 seconds or so.
Keep on keeping on!
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
You could tell when you were splitting the elm..the stringy nasty stuff! Burns well though
Yup, it is like splitting cable!
An Eastonmade axes would make a very nice video someday
There are many Axis vids on the Y.T..
Yup!
Yup!
I can't wait to get back to splitting some firewood. It's been raining the last week and half.
Maybe get a 10x10 pop up shelter??
@@InTheWoodyard I would but it's typically thunderstorms so the wind blows. I going to try stringing up a 10x16 tarp off the side of my bulding and see if that will work. Even if I can't use it when it rains it will will be nice to stay in the shade on 100 degree days.
Bring a few friends😊
Is it going towards or away from Tony?
I’m sure he’d love to test out the New N&N Trailer😊
Have a nice BBQ in the Woodyard😊
Maybe so!
Nice...The ULTRA just keeps pluggin away!! Wonder how many face cords, ricks or rows its ripped in its career thus far?? Charge more for those stringy ragged pieces...they have the kindling already included...LOL
Good question!...... thousands of cords.
The splitter needed a break from you anyhow. Possibly the nicest splitter on the market. I don't need one or use one, but its fast and very efficient. Maybe its the operator!
It does work well! thanks!
Haven't been this early in forever
Woke up to let the dogs out and couldn't go back to sleep 😅
@@aaronjackson5862 same here
I had half my day in before the video was released.
Well, if wasn't for 🦌 season I probably wouldn't see that time of day. Anxiously waiting for season to start
Thanks!
Some of that Elm can sure piss you off at times Professor I bet? Nice job though on some of that toilet wood. 7 outta 10.😊
Yup, it is nasty crap!
🤘
Thanks!!!
Have you heard from Tyler this year?
Yup, just the other day, he has a new job AND is doing addition schooling at the same time...busy boy!
@@InTheWoodyard great for him
Chris, I think your elm is just as bad as my sweet gum. I really dislike the stuff but it all burns!!!! Hope you're doing great 🤜🤛
Yup, it is some nasty crap for sure!
Chris, family first wood 🪵 can be done ✅ on another day 😮😊❤
You got that right!
If you put RUclips ahead of your family, it is time to quit RUclips. Good to see family first.
Yup, thanks!
Could an old guy make any money by picking up a pickup load of splits from you, and then selling it out of his truck at a great location ,?
Would you sell it to him at a wholesale price to make it any kind of profitable ?
You wouldn't have to deliver it.
You'd have to make bundles out of the wood to make a profit. Don't think Chris does any wholesale pricing currently.
The way I see this question, would you sell at less profit so another guy could make a profit on your work?
@jeanvaljohn3921 We gave away appx 60 full cords of tree service wood in the Lk Winnebago area last week, we will have more trees this week and would pay you $10 a 2cord load to pick it up all you would need do is process it into firewood just think of the profit margin getting paid to take free wood.
@@iffykidmn8170 too bad you don't work to the west towards Redgranite. I have a woodyard for you to dump in if you worked closer to me.
Yes. Bundle wood ...it could easily be worth twice as much. Even for a young guy.
Go home spend some time with your son😇
I did that!
Good job Chris, Family help in the woodyard is nice also 😂🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
You got that right! Thanks!
Elm makes you appreciate everything else that you split!
Yup, it does that!
Took Saturday off from woodyard duty for time with my kiddo. Went to the pool and trying to work with her on swimming. Best day ever spent outside of the woodyard. Heck, better than ANY day I've EVER spent in the woodyard!
Awesome!
That elm splits like a mixture of concrete and cotton candy.
Yup! tough stuff.
Your elm splits like our crappy Sweet Gum!! Hope you get the red oak!! You could use Tony's new trailer!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Yup, it is nasty crap!
Haha, I should have read thru the comments, I just said the same thing David😂😂
Chris I am sitting here watching your splitter. I got to thinking, which can be dangerous what if your push block stopped 4" sooner on the back stroke? Possibly a plate across the channels in front of where the ram plate is connected. A total of 8" per stroke would knock off several seconds on each piece of wood. Easton made would have to tell you how it would affect the machine. You are not splitting 24" material.
It is a 4 second cycle time....It is faster than I can work now. 2 guys can BARELY keep up with it working as fast as we can so.....no.
Chris, I see a lot of splitters advertised as 25 ton, 30 ton etc.....I was wondering what the ton on this splitter is. Thank you for all the great videos. Rich from PA
The Eastonmade Ultra is an actual 17 ton I am told...most of the advertised ton rating for the China made stuff is not actual...usually about 1/2 so......Glad to help!
I actually like burning elm, it has its own built in kindling. I'm not as enthusiastic about splitting it. 🤔
Yup, nice to burn but not to split!
Elm!! nasty wood to chop!Good thing you have the Eastonmade
Yup, it is like splitting cable!
Could hire a log truck driver to go get the logs and haul them back to your place?
I did it in two loads with my trailer in just a few hours all cut up...you will see it soon!
Enjoy your time with your son!👍👍
I did that! Thanks Jeremiah!
Do the same for your dad while you still have him!!
Yup, just spent the whole day with him a few days ago...he is doing good for 85 but time is gaining on all of us.
The splitter just keeps chugging along
Yup, she is a work horse!
Reckon that Ultra has paid for its self yet😂😂😂
His Ultra has been Paid for after the first truckload 12 cords of firewood split and sold. Can't say that about a $40k + processor
About 10 times over!
She is a work horse!
Chris was right. Again! We had this deal with the forest owner, that we harvest some trees and she gets half we get half. Ok, sounds good right? Now it seems we have one side new deal, she gets 2/3 or even more and we get what ever is left of our log piles. Nope. To make a long story short, we will stop this madness with all peace and we will buy our logs and then cut and split them. I don´t want to start argue with the older lady, but this is not fair anymore. Every time we make log pile ready to go way more than half of it disappears. Hard way to make an easy money. Yup, like Chris told me, it sounds great, but it can be a trap. Had to learn it a hard way. Anyway. this is a fair warning to someone who thinks deals like this. Good night Irene! Go Chris!
Yup, that can and does happen!
On the farm, the guy that furnishes the equipment and does the work usually gets the 2/3 share.
@@heymakerphd1982 Ok, so she cheated us from the beginning even more than we thought. Well we were stupid but now we have learned our lesson.
This Video is so relaxing to me seeing you Split with that machine. I Split all my stuff by Maul to stay in Shape. But i do not have a firewood Business. I just burn to Heat my House with 3 19:55 Full cords of beech this Winter. Greetings from Germany.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching from across the pond!
97 degrees here in South Central Nebraska...
That is about 50 to many!
But you r getting rain on a regular basis, right ?
🪓🪵👏👍🏻
Thanks!
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
Finally got tired of chasing the saw around the tailgate with a file last week after nearly 50yrs, will be testing an 8240 and Oregon 7/32" bits this week. 🤞🤪
Awesome, once you get the hang of it you will like it.
I did that last weekend. Finished a job on Saturday and spent Sunday with the wife. 😉👍
Nice!
Nice video Chris. Good to spend time with your children. Even after they have flown the nest. I enjoy watching the nasty elm burn just to teach it who is really in control of the fire.GNI
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good one. Great to see your son when you can. I see mine about once or so a week.
Thanks!
Great job of splitting Chris every round split and in the bin makes room for more to be cut. Keep on cutting
Yup, more is good!
Hi Chris good work of splitting ( Ty Ron
Thanks!
That wedge is really sharp. And helps shred I think it’s cotton wood. It does it easily.
Yup, it is elm.
@@InTheWoodyard elm was good heating wood when heated with wood.
Good man family first 🪵👍
Thanks!
85 would seem cool here, it is gonna be another scorcher here already 75, just 8:30 am. The reason it is so cool there is because of the continuous rain..........
I like 20-50 any more is too much!
Good morning Chris!!😀😀
Hello Al!
Good morning all!
Good morning!
Hello everyone
Hello Sir Stanley!
Good Morning Woodhounds!(-:

Hello!

Yes it does that!
