This interview was really long and as much as I think they did a great job I wasn't allowed to preview it and a lot of stuff got clipped in the edits. Just an FYI - this is the record case I chose to bring in my studio to work with, I have a second bedroom in my house that is currently acting as a used record store. Much Love to Crate Diggers for having me.
When I first started to read this, I thought "oh geeze, what type of loser is going to be complaining about how this video is too long?!?"
Good thing I kept reading! 😂

@@esnebta smooth
this is sad
He looks like such a great guy to have a conversation with.
This dude has got to be the most down to earth, and on a completely opposite spectrum, one of the most underappreciated geniuses in hiphop music. Respect to Evidence. Liner Notes is kind of like an intro, but it is literally one of my favorite and to me, one of the dopest songs I have ever heard.
man he seems like such a chilled out guy. really relaxed and not all ego. and also an amazing producer mc. peace
Anyone else watch these with another RUclips tab open? Man that Billy Caldwell track is amazing. Loved the sample in Guru - Something in the Past
EV IS A LEGEND. WE STAY UNDERGROUND
such an amazing inspiring person. for real! he was making an appearance at the diamond store in LA this passed weekend & I came all the way down from san diego to come see him and as i saw him outside the store i got kinda starstruck we ended up just starring each other down with out a word being said. not exactly how i imagined meeting him, but the time will come. much love EV
Get The Alchemist on crate digger!
lol box pickers!
i hope that never happens, but he did do something similar a really long time ago, one the earlier "behind the scenes" beatmakering documentaries
3:36 Gang Starr - No More Mr. Nice Guy
Bobby Caldwell - Carry On > Sampled Madlib on the MED track 'Can't Hold on'
Mass appeal get this man on Rhythm Roulette!
Have they done a DJ Premier Crate Diggers yet? I remember being so amazed when he was speaking on the doc "Scratch" about how he digs for records to provide every sound on all the beats he produces. It seems almost impossible, but dude works magic with those stacks of wax.
My man reppin that MPC 2000xl!!
My fav episode of Crate Diggers Ive seen this a bunch of times
My fave track from Evidence - Confidnece
Newcleus jam on it has one of the dopest basslines ever in hip hop
Its funny because I remembering writing down the lyrics to "Jam On It"...the first rap I ever memorized line for line!
yuup.. when 'Jam On It' came out in '84 thats when. i fell in love with music.
Ok. We NEED a Stoupe episode. Some many samples could be revealed
"How is your collection organized?"
EV: "Yes!" fast hands on the crates... 😆🤣👍
This is the most interesting interview in forever, give EV his own show
7:35 - russian record "Зеркало Души", that we are giving to Ev in Moskow:)

This was one of the best and truest segments so far. #Salue Ev
Another great episode. Keep these gems coming Fuse.
One of my favorites so far!
That's crazy that's the first hip hop song I ever heard I was like 4 my mom use to play it all the time and I loved the cover
Jam on it ..i love it...EVIDENCE IS A GOD
I agree..plus RZA and Apollo Brown and everything is fine!
This is one lucky ass dude, he flows in life easy breezy never a problem.. at least thats what it looks like from his videos..
good for him..
Lol “never a problem”... you’re talking about the weatherman bro.
Damn that's a collection. I agree with the people below, DO MADLIB. haha that's gotta be legendary
and would be the death of that legend, hed have to spend a week hiding things so the camera doesnt see them because you know people sit there pausing, zooming in trying to see what record that is in the backround lol
Let yourself go is a master piece .
Nelson Ned is a brazilian singer, he was hugely popular in the 70's and 80's.
peace,love,unity and having fun evidence.
That Rudy Love flip is MONSTER! Cool episode. Thx to Evidence for sharing! Peace and SOUL...
This was dope, stay up ev!
Ev in Cologne on Tuesday, soo looking forward to it...
I feel you on the Bobby Caldwell shit...didn’t know he was white until RUclips came around.
Great story!
He barely has any records, but this was still one of the more interesting episodes. He comes across as really authentic.
Check the first comment bro. He said he had a bedroom full of records, but those records you saw were the ones he wanted to show for this interview.
this was really dope
Fuck man I got crazy respect for Evidence after seeing this. I found him cuz of The Weatherman LP and back tracked to Dilated Peoples. Had no idea had some beat making chops.
Side note, check my old school beat Summer Daze, sampled from vinyl. Good look
Nelson Ned....my dad stay on that, I already had respect for Ev as my favorite rapper, but that just pushed over the top. Rhymesayers. EV FROM DP FROM California's goldrush.
Damn, its crazy how fast time goes by. Seems like it was just yesterday when you guys hooked up for "This Way". Things are different now. A lot of shit has changed. That was a great track, bro. I used to stay bumpin' it all day. Props, EV. Sup with that NY hat though? Still reppin' L.A., right? LOL.
Yo Ev, take care of urself bro.. hip-hop needs you.
EV.... BIG INFLUENCE... NUFF SAID
haha its funny how when he says rocafella @4:33 and his computer screen flashes roc for a second
Last Call & Check To Check are the best beats.
nice piece
LMAO @4:55- Thats definitely Kanye

Ev's stories are great, can anybody tell me what kicks he's wearing? So fresh
ROOKE5 air max 1s

I love this series...They should have me on their. My collection is sick
To the Sir Chocolate Hobo Fellow --- My love for a song has nothing to with what a record cover looks like. Btw They are the same image on the 12 and Album. - haha. Thanks for the love.
Well for me, I LOVE the cackle!
dude you're awesome!
ev is unquestionably prophetic
RIP NELSON NED
Until I watched this I thought the sample said "It's the Roc-a-fella"
Dope interview ! Rudy Love Jr .. his son is in our band ..
nice he has some decent outboard in his Lab those Manley joints don't come cheap.
Nelson Ned is Brazilian. Shout out from Brazil.

So charming and handsome! Would marry him without even knowing this man ^^, big talent!
Nelson Ned is from Brazil!
But he's one of my favorite emc's I didn't know he did production
My filing system is ill.
Loved that bobby Caldwell record lol
do madlib
EV!!!!! my man being waiting
when hes tellin the story about the sample not clearing so they had a band play/record it in the studio and change it just enough that they wouldn't get sued. sampling is one thing.. but this seems a little crazy?!
That's how the first rap records were recorded. Bands playing covers of the breaks that DJs were using.
bobby caldwell-carry on (1982)
I wish for episodes with Thes One and Double K (from People under the stairs), Q-Tip, Damu The Fudgemunk, Large Professor, MF Doom and Madlib.

Evidence is my hero!!!! My goal before I die is to get a beat placement on one of his albums. Call it my buket list.
Wasn't it Ken Lewis who ended up saying the 'Rocafella' part on the Kanye album?
either him or John Legend
Where's El-P bro
