    At 6:30 when you're talking about the front buckles being backed up to the strap. The reason for having the ability for the front panels to drop lower is so that when a soldier gets fully rigged up with their parachute, they can wear the harness, but drop the front so that it clears the reserve parachute.

    Reminds me of a FLC, mixed with the Eagle H-Harness kit.

    Got issued this back in 2017 as part of the field testing phase. Jokes on those civilians, before they gave us these, we got RFI like 2 months beforehand. So my unit made us wear our plate carriers for literally all training we did. A few months later, when they came back to get our feedback, and we told them we didn't wear them, they got so pissed they made half of us give them back when we were all supposed to keep them.😅

    I bought one of these off eBay as soon as this video came out, and this thing is pretty solid. Most people's main concern was the sizing of it being too loose, and I am not a wide guy, and it fits like a FLC vest if you just snug down the side adjustments. Looking forward to the future videos to see how you kit it out. This A-TAP is the cool uncle to the FLC

    When these came out, we threw them in the back of the closet, and just lived with our Web gear and suspenders, because .. it was new. We didn't like "New" when we were jumping. First series was ACU colored, and had a bunch of snap fasteners and plastic clips that would tangle up on anything and everything. We ended up using 100 mile an hour tape, and 550 chord to field modify these. The leadership had hell to pay getting a unified Field Uniform back in those early days.
    All in all, we used them a few years later, when the next couple of iterations came out, but it didn't really take. They ended up in the back of the closet.

    US Army Airborne TAP ==> Looks nice but price at high side USD $99 at least. Hopefully the price will be around $29 to $39 soon if possible. US FLC ACU still cheap and good for the time being if has a budget concern.

      They're going to be a bit pricey for a long time. Limited issue, very few hit the market at a time, and it's also going to warrant a slightly higher price just due to what it is for a while.

    3ibct in the 25th got thoose in 2017, I personally thought they were a little to ridged, and didn't dig the harness, but dig the first spear tubes.. for issued gear tho, not bad I'd buy one

      It definitely is a bit more rigid then I expected. I think it's good, and bad too.

    The one I was issued when I was in was huge.. idk if they come in different sizes or they’re just made big but I had it tightened all the way down and it was super loose, and I’m not a small guy…

      It’s so when you unclip them, combined with the other straps, the tap drops low enough to clear a main and reserve parachute

  • @bf4chode2
    @bf4chode2 10 месяцев назад +3

    This looks like it might have the same problem as the Eagle H Harness of not having enough strap to tighten down. I know this is designed to go over a carrier but for us civys who might where this as a standalone rig, it’s going to be a downside.
