    Hi.
In your opinion which is a better option: Axis or Orbit? Is the extra $50 for the Axis worthy? Which one has the “best bang for the buck” factor?
I’m upgrading from a cheap 215cm/1,3kg aluminum paddle, on an inflatable Gumotex Twist 2 kayak.
    Thanks a lot!

Hi Antonio, it really depends on what you are going for. If you want to reduce weight, the Axis wins definitely. If you want the versatility of being able to customise the feathering and length, that's what the Orbit is for. What is your main frustration with your current paddle? Emily.

@@OzinflatablekayaksAu hi Emily, thanks for your quick reply! My current paddle came bundled with the kayak - a RTM Elegance, heavy and short - I’m 166cm on a deep and 80cm wide kayak, so sometimes my hands rub on the kayak. The paddle also feels “flexible” and the joints are starting to have some play… so my aim would be mainly reduce weight, have a longer and more rigid paddle (and maintain the packability for hauling the kit inside a duffel bag).
I tried once an Anfíbio Vertex Tour paddle (designed for pack rafting), which is 225cm and 890gr (albeit aluminium and plastic) and it was a joy to use, a striking difference for mine. I suppose the Advanced Elements would be even better (Werner and high range paddles are out of my budget for a leisure hobby).
      Thanks once again!

Hi Emily, how strong are the lighter - Orbit/Axis paddles compared to single piece? I'm particularly thinking of how I use the paddle when entering and exiting the kayak as a brace behind my back. I usually end up putting a fair bit of weight onto the paddle. Cheers - John.

Hi John, do you mean compared to an alloy one-piece paddle? Not as strong is the simple answer, because the Orbit and Axis shafts are fibreglass, not metal. I would still do it - I would still be using either of those paddles to brace on the deck for entry and exit, but I'm pretty lightweight. Cheers, Emily.

@@OzinflatablekayaksAu Cheers Emily. I use my fiberglass one piece for entry/exit - it's very lightweight and seems to stand up to it. Certainly easier on the beach when you can stand next to your boat and just do the 'plonk' !
