Having Matthew on the spectrum has meant so much to me, especially when Jesus takes special care to help Matthew understand things. It helps me so much to understand how Jesus might interact with me in person. The scene where he was looking in on his family really spoke to me too because I've been through a lot of rejection. Thank you so much for running with this plausible possibility.
Love this! So many people have been impacted by Matthew's depiction. As a music/choir teacher for many years, this story effected me deeply. To give Kaelyn an experience like this is truly a gift to treasure. Thank you, Dallas, Matt and Dan for being so generous and loving. Kae is such a talented young lady and now she has lots of new friends in The Chosen family too!

The beauty of this young lady, Kaylyn is astonishing! She speaks so clearly and peacefully, the love of the Lord is all over her! This short video has made me cry in a wonderful way. Kaelyn’s cello was my introduction to “the Chosen” back in early 2020! I saw the thumbnail for this video on RUclips with Kaelyn playing her cello, watched the video (now re-posted) and was intrigued. Downloaded the app and was gobsmacked! So thank you Kaelyn!

This show is truly a blessing not just to the Christian community but really to the world
I love this. The disciples were normal human beings, with the same struggles we have. To see them portrayed as people of all cultures and spectrums makes its relatable. Other portrayals have missed the humanity of these people. Jesus is fully God, but while here he was fully sinless human. We need to have both in order to understand him reaching down to us. He loves the little children.
Myself and my son were both diagnosed with Asperger's. I was diagnosed much older in life than my son. We both play cello (exclusively) and pretty much any instruments we could get our hands on. We have been told that we are musical savants-my son even more so than myself. I had a full-ride scholarship in music and was 1st chair in our symphony out of 8 cellists that had been in college for a few years. I had an excellent teacher that challenged me and helped me develop my skills. It's funny that the same teacher is teaching my son, and he already got a head start from me before she took over.
Whenever I listen to music, which is almost all the time, I always listen for cellists. What's funny, is that the part that she played during Nicodemus' visit with Jesus, I knew. I knew it had a youthfulness to it, subtle, yet yearning in sound. I always analyze music, what instruments, what time signature, style, themes and variations, etc...I can't get music OUT of my head, but I believe it's a gift from above, and it has gotten me through many trials and traumas in my life. It was what I leaned on, as well as our Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus, to help me get past difficult times, but also to thank Him for His comfort and the joy He brings. My son (almost 16), is more scientifically-minded, and I am in the Faith. It took awhile, but I managed to get my son to watch a bit of The Chosen. I'm still working on him, in his time, but I won't give up until he can see the Truth of the Lord. I want him to know the Lord as I do. The Lord has always provided for me, even when there didn't seem to be an answer in sight, but it ALWAYS came in one form or another-EVERYTIME I needed Him, He was there for me. I Thank God every day for his mercy and guidance.
That scene with Nicodemus was one of my favorites...when the Son of God embraced him...I lost it. To think that after that he didn't leave all behind is mind boggling. The cello behind it was perfect. TY Kaelyn

This was a wonderful and touching event for such a beautiful young lady. My brother has Asperger's. We grew up in a world that didn't have names for it back then. Everyone just knew he was different and had his own way of doing things. He read the entire world book encyclopedia.
I live just across from Nashville on the Cumberland plateau in Tennessee. I had no idea how close you were to me.
Your series has brought me closer to Yeshusa than I thought possible. Thank you so much for stepping out in faith and doing this project. I eagerly look forward to season 3. I've watched the others a couple of times and shared it with those around me.
Sharing like this is all I can do right now because in the in a wheelchair. But one day I'm going to get a new body and it will never break. TY Jesus Amen

That scene with Nicodemus was one of the most moving for me(tears) as well as the scene where Nicodemus is just out of sight of Jesus and has decided not to go with him; it broke my heart.

Matthew is one of my favorite characters. Really, it just shows how smart and in tune with humanity Dallas is. Dallas’ Jesus is the most “human” ever. His Mother Mary brings tears to my eyes every time she appears on the screen. Mary Magdalene. Peter. These were real people with real problems. Admittedly I have Aspergers too in the beginning it was a huge struggle but God had great mercy apon me and He is now leading me into a life I wanted to begin with "a life that I wanted to be happy and look normal enough" and I was amazed when I found out how much of a blessing my condition was, I also saw myself a bit in mathew,❤️✌️

Man, what an honor and a privilege for this young lady. Wow. For THAT SCENE to be the one she is associated with and contributing to. That scene, all in all, everything about it, the writing, the actors, the set and lighting, the direction, the editing, the powerful emotion in the performances, and the music, especially the music, EVERYTHING is dripping with the anointing. You can feel it the moment you watch it. That scene is the scene that made me go, “alright, stop, everyone I know has to see this!”. Music is such an important part for guiding and building the emotions of any movie or TV show. It is especially effective when it comes from the heart as your piece does. That scene was magnificent and I remember it and the music well. The cello was wonderful. Until now, I had no idea it came from a 15 year old -- how cool is that?

Kaylyn was a wonderful addition to the Chosen and I applaud you for incorporating her in it! She is very gifted and very sweet!
I love this. This is interesting to me because the Matthew in this show is different from the way that I had always pictured Mathew. To me, Matthew was a super smart guy who could not only read and write (which from what i understand is not something a lot of people could do), but could do so in several languages. He also was very smart in math and probably do most of what we identify as STEM very well. He was a man who had achieved the American Dream in riches and wealth, but no matter how successful he was - he never had the friendship and comradery that people like James, John, Peter, and Andrew had and he had a big hole in his heart for that type of belonging . That said, I really love how this version which is different from what I imagined, has reached out and touched this little girl and that she could step in and do something that I could never do. Thank you for sharing.

The Chosen is so very special. It's the only thing I want to watch, all day every day. Sometimes I just have it playing in the background softly while I work. It's so soothing to fall asleep to at night as well. And when you want to watch a show, it's the perfect one to watch.

I have autism and I've been through alot of chaos in my life. I'm into surtan stuff. Just by watching the chosen with my dad. My dad emmediantly can tell that mattew had this autism thing going on in his character. I am love, so is kaelyn. Amen.
very cool! my daughter was good freinds with a boy in primary school who also had aspergers, he had problems making freinds but my daughter never judged him and was cool with it, they are grown up now and moved on with their own lives in seperate directions, I pray for all Gods ble3sings for Kaelen

Here I am, unable to even see the video through my tears.
My son is about to turn 11 and just in the last couple weeks I finally had a phone call with the psychologist officially diagnosing him as being on the spectrum.
It has taken his whole life for someone to hear me, and I know that was only possible with God. He struggles to make friends, only has one or two, and has been often rejected as being too quirky or weird.
We watch The Chosen for homeschool lessons, and immediately- my sweet Chance (my autistic son) connected with Matthew and tells me that he is his favorite. It took me two years to get him to sit and watch, but for me - I knew the first time I saw Matthew that my sweet boy would love seeing someone he too could connect with.
I thank God for you, Dallas, because he is truly using you to spread the Gospel to all corners of the earth, but also because you’re execution and thoughtfulness are what truly bring the story of Jesus and The Gospel to life in such a new and profound way.
