If there was ever any question as to whether TheCubicle has more allegiance to the manufacturers that supply their products or the people who purchase them - this video makes it abundantly clear. TheCubicle values community feedback, so much that they will be a bold mouthpiece to deliver that feedback in as harshly honest a manner necessary. Could not be happier to support this cubing retailer.
I can testify this even further. In one stream Phil went from "The RS3 Super V2 is worth it" to "I don't know if it's worth the price". I understand him: as long as the cube is good, he'll recommend it. It's the pricing that's difficult to justify.
I think they named it rs3m is because it has some rs3m features, like the square thing in centre pieces. And they showed the same features can appear in budget and premium cube.
@@DoctorLaw that further blurs the lines between budget and flagship cubes, such as wrm 19/20 and gts3m. They shouldn't slap budget labels on their flagships even if they have budget traits. Really glad wrm19 and GTS3 M are still available for sale
I think I prefer more customizability on ONE cube for a tad higher price than 4 cubes with slight differences. Like magnet strength adjusting on the corners. Make a moyu version of the Tornado V3 tensioning and not releasing a new 3x3 every 3rd month 😅 I barely got my V9 before the Super V2 was announced 😂
With how good and affordable the prior rs3m releases were and the ys3m, it just makes it hard to justify these prices. I also wish they would just do two versions when it comes to their premium flagship releases, both ball core, one with springs and one with maglev. I understand having a stripped down version when it comes to the budget lineups, but the maglev with no ball core seems pointless every release.
I own the maglev v9 and I'm loving it. I didn't get the BC because i prefer frosted, and even with all the unneeded options they gave us, the finishing wasn't one of them. Feels much snappier than the Tv3. Never tried a Gan 12 pro, but I'm also not dropping $85 to find out. I'm super happy so far...
I have the v9 with both the ball core and maglev and honestly up until this day I still think the tornado v3 pioneer is better. It costs less and manages to feel as nice as a gan cube if not better. (My opinion)
I agree. I had a Gan cube, but it was ridiculously loose. When I got the Tornado V3, I fell in love immediately. It felt so similar, and maybe felt even better
Moyu is increasing its price on its cubes just like what GAN does so I think moyu think they are now the apple of cubes but maybe its because of increasing prices on petrol or oil
When the other store compared the pieces of the Super RS3 V2 and WV9, I cant help but think MoYu went Dr. Frankenstein and made monsters out of their recent cubes.
Those pieces look very similar to a GTS2 or 3 especially with the texture difference. A little interesting, I know that moyu has character but that’s a little bit too close to something we already have
Oh my Gosh I realized that a few days before this video was released. I went to the cubicle and I saw Cubes. I don’t know what they were but I got first turns from a cube that technically wasn’t released so that’s cool I guess.😅
i really wonder how moyu wants this cube to fit into the market. it can’t be an rs3 successor because it’s too pricey and it can’t be a v9 successor because that cube just came out. hopefully they can realize that it’ll probably do them best to take a step back and work on something that people actually want.
@@Drizzz32 interesting, that's definitely not the response im seeing. sure it'll sell, and maybe that's all that matters to moyu. I guess I'm just wondering how they'll market the cube given it's in a budget line but costs $50, and in some aspects is outdated.
It would be great to see TheCubicle dona thorough comparison of the highway robbery also called Super RS3M V2 line and the original Super RS3M line, model to model, piece to piece, to show what, if any (and I strongly doubt there are any), design differences there might be between the V1 and the V2... not that that's any excuse for Moyu's more than doubling the price of what are essentially the same cubes 🤯😢🤕
I agree. The original super rs3m and this V2 honestly seem the same. The original ball core and the v2 has a $27.00 price difference which is HUGE. The keep releasing the same cubes with the same dual adjustment system. MoYu I think may lose customers. If people want to spend almost $50 on a cube they can buy a Gan on sale.
Both of my Ball-core Super RS3M v1's have "dragon-scale" (or whatever Moyu calls the pattern) on the inner faces of the corner pieces and on the inner sides of the edge pieces where they meet the centers... I'm guessing that is exactly the same as the waaay over-priced v2 So... are there *ANY* differences besides a UV coating? It sucks that they are forcing that on any customers, I dont want it, and certainly don't want to have to pay for it...
As someone who has been very into speedcubing for quite a while and has stayed up to date with all the newest releases, this is the first time where I have put off buying a new cube due to being confused about which cube is best for me. At the moment I am considering one of either the Ball Core YS3M, Weilong V9 BC, RS3 Super V2 Standard or the RS3 Super V2 Ball core. If anyone could help me out with your opinions if you have tried all the cubes because the only one of the four I have tried is the YS3M. Thanks!
From the vid, I feel like RS3 V2 BC is just WRM V9 2.0 that addresses some issues with V9, just that Moyu didn't want to hurt V9 sales because it's fairly new so they just decided to release it under different name. I'd say just go with RS3 V2 BC unless you prefer the faster and more flexible V9, or YS3M if you prefer a blockier cube with less chance to corner twist (V9 has a minor corner twisting problem)
Errrr, where does the ball core RS3M Super pre V2 slot in? I paid like $13 from Temu for one and being a rook I don't know squat but it's fast as f, luxurious, maybe not as stable as my RS3 M 2020 w/xtra mag kit but as I said I don't know enough to chirp yet. I'm 70 and can still rip on guitar so I'm trying to use cubing to help with dexterity - and the noodle. Put it this way..I'm a heck of a lot faster on my SG than I am on my Moyu! 👀 🎸 (ps shouldn't there be a cube emoji by now?)
GAN and their fanboys' blind allegiance happened... MoYu is testing the waters with this pricing. We, the cubing community as a whole, need this test to fail... Get the 2022 Super if you want budget or the WRMv9 Ball Core if you want the best flagship on the market
I have several friends who said "Nope! The WeiLong V9 is enough." or "RIP Budget Line". If we compare MoYu to Gan, the former is still "value-oriented"... which I think what MoYu wants people to think. But we compare MoYu with MoYu. They can't shift out focus away from that.
@@thesphyrth that's just my point, though. The more people buy this the more we can expect to pay for MoYu's next release and their next and etc etc... We gotta put our foot down here n now n say we're not gonna stand for that predatory price model.
Wait... You are telling me they are already releasing MORE cubes? They already release 2 freaking flagships this year! Was their slam dunk on the YS3 M and WRM V9 not enough? How many more cubes are they going to release this year?
They probably sold way too much ball core ones over the maglev ones. That's the reason they wanted to get the high end product less interesting when comparing their mid tier product

I bought the ball core version, it will be my first UV coated cube, do you guys know if I must avoid cleaning it with alcohol? It's the standard procedure for me
Moyu did a great job making the SUPER RS3M V2 but the price is rly dissapointing it went up so much and I cant afford to buy one of that because its price went so much high that it cost 1k here in the Philippines some other cubers did buy it but I just cant im rly sad and dissapointed for the price because I cant keep up with the hype😥
my tinfoil hat theory is that moyu is raising the price floor of the 'budget' line of cubes so they can justify higher prices of future flagships and get more margins out of their products.
MoYu has completely oversaturated the market with its own cubes. This is too confusing, I’m not going to set any world records so I’m just going to stick with the WRM v9 for the next year or two
