Sir William Crookes is most noted for his discovery of thallium and his research in cathode rays. He was an exceptional experimentalist, a laborious researcher and meticulous observer. Crookes was considered remarkable for his industriousness and for his intellectual qualities, and his discoveries were foundational, changing chemistry and physics as a whole.

To be known to posterity for a small dark space.
