- Former Uriah Heep songwriter / singer, keyboardist and guitarist Ken Hensley and his primarily Norwegian band Live Fire performing the Uriah Heep hit "Lady in black'" live at Rathausplatz, Bad Homburg (near Frankfurt), Germany on August 9, 2013.
"Lady in black'" was written by Ken Hensley and originally appeared on the Uriah Heep 1971 Vertigo Records / Mercury Records studio album "Salisbury".
The song was also released as a single and became a West German #1 hit, #6 in Switzerland. The song was covered a.o. by Blackmore's Night..

Roberto Tiranti - lead vocals, bass (from bella Italia - of Labyrinth, APD, Mangala Vallis fame)
Ken Ingwersen - guitar, slide guitar, backing vocals
Tor Arne Fossheim aka "The Rock" aka "Idrum" - drums drums drums

Ken Hensley was born as Kenneth William David Hensley on August 24, 1945 in Plumstead, South East London, England. He has played in bands on stage and in the studio since 1960 including the Gods (feat. Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones), Head Machine, Toe Fat, Weed, Shotgun, Blackfoot, W.A.S.P., Cinderella, Bruce Cameron, Ken Hensley / John Lawton Band, Free Spirit, John Wetton (of Asia fame) a.o. From 1970 until 1980 he has been a member of the legendary English Rock band Uriah Heep.

Been a Hensley and Heep lover since 1971. I know these are Ken's songs... Juts hurts my ears to hear them turned into a pseudo-metal version of the wonderful hard rock classics that they are.
It's not a pseudo-metal .... That's a normal evolution of that old time sound
