Bofuri is (currently, because it's definitely gonna change this year with the masterpieces that Solo Leveling and Frieren's anime adaptations have to be) my 5th favorite anime of all time. In the Isekai category, it's only beaten by Mushoku Tensei, which is one of the most beautiful, dark but not edgy and deep isekais out there, and Tensura, which is by far the best power fantasy because it's not about how the protagonist is gonna destroy his ennemies, it's about how him and his army are gonna destroy his ennemies and their armies, and that's waaaaaay cooler (and the city builder theme is also really cool, not forgetting the world building which is really great for a first try training series. Yeah Fuse, the author, was just writing Tensura for training.) Anyway, Bofuri is a really cool and light-hearted anime about a cute noob lucking her way through a game balanced like my mental health and having fun. No dark themes, no complicated plots, no ennemies, just friendly rivals and fun. (And cute yuri if you want to.)
i just take this anime as contras to SAO. in SAO the developer has total control of the game while in Bofuri the developer totally lost control of the game due of existence of Maple.
