Wanna know what makes the situation you described worse? If they control a Sharding Sphinx. Whenever an Artifact Creature the Brudiclad player controls does combat damage to an opponent, Sharding Sphinx spits out a Blue Thopter. 2 months 12 days and 12 seconds of asking for Emry, Lurker of the Loch. MaldHound has the uncanny ability to roast commanders I've run into lately. I too laughed at my opponent playing Brudiclad, expecting a platoon of 2/1 Myrs. What I got was them turning their 30 treasures into dragons from Dragonmaster Outcast. Man hit me with more dragons than in all the books of the Inheritance cycle combined.
I'm just disappointed it's taken this long. He seems to have a niche but outspoken following compared to most commanders. Personally, I've been considering testing the waters with Veyran in the 99 for my dragonmaker of choice.
All of my friends check under their beds for Karn-struct tokens before they go to sleep. Not because they’re particularly afraid, but because those things just end up everywhere
As someone who has played Brudiclad, he actually sucks, because people are actually reading cards now. I play anything fancier than fucking Blues Clues and the table hits me with seventeen board wipes and a nutshot.
As a monored/Izzet player, slow roll the shit out of your opponent. My group sees Ojer Axonil hit the field and I am seeing G-d quicker than I can cast Shock.
Bootyman was the reason I got into magic. Been my main squeeze for 6 years and drawing a hand is like popping the cork off a 40 year cabernet and taking a deep whiff. Even if I were to stop playing and sell my entire collection, I will never part with the Booty Warrior.
I just had a deck idea that I have to build now Brudiclad Eldrazi (Scions) Free mana every turn, plus it turns cards like Ral’s Reinforcements (2 mana for 2 tokens) into “pay 2, make 2 treasures” Eventually just build up enough scions for one of the new funni eldrazi (which you are now legally obligated to make a video on)
I did a similar thing with treasure generation. Most scion/spawn generators sadly only care about ETB/cast, which isn't super useful for Brudi. Also, never play him expecting him to stick for more than a turn, learned that from my years of playing him.
Honestly, my friend's Brudiclad deck is one of my favorite ones to play against in our group, just to see what happens. One time he turned his board into an exponentially increasing number of Thopter Spy Networks.
Didn't expect my Brudiclad roast to include Bionicle references lol Thanks Mald. Brudiclad is my scary deck in my pod, nobody expects Grand Architect to multiply and gank them.
A friend of mine has this deck and his goal is to make as many copies of food fight as possible and honestly every time I get domed for 80+ after a frankly silly turn I just feel proud of him.
My boy finally had his time in the spotlight❤️ also if you want the stupidest brudiclad tech think about what happens when you have 9 academy manufactors
try Nanogene Conversion! it'll give you a good head start if you have any creatures on board at all, especially if one is a creature token as it'll let you make all the myrs you make into brudiclads.
As someone who’s piloted this deck since it came out, my one card tip for you is to play the card Hour of Need. It’s a blue and two colorless with a strive cost of another blue and colorless for each other target and it allows you to exile target creature and its controller creates a 4/4 angel token. So for five mana you can take out your opponents biggest threat and create an army of angels for yourself at the same time. The card is basically unplayable anywhere else but very swingy here
I've never heard of this one before! I've used Pongify and Rapid Hybridization for clutch attacking options before, but this has evasion... that's amazing. Throwing this in the Brudiclad spellslinger I'm brainstorming, for sure.
Brudiclad is my favorite combo finisher in my dragon deck Theres a cheaky little combo with the sentinel wurm where every dragon cast makes 8 treasures, a copy of the dragon, and 2 dragon tokens Finish it with earthquake dragon and then drop brudiclad, move to combat and turn every token you control into the earthquake dragon copy You recieve an army of at least 11 earthquake dragons that have haste
I remember building a deck with krenko, brudiclad, and helm of the host. If i started my combat step with merely 3 tokens on the board, by the start of my next combat step, i could swing with over 1000 tokens
This deck is 100% my pet deck because of all the shenanigans you can pull in regards to your cloned tokens having haste. Some of my favorites include - stacking mystic reflection on Myr Battlesphere, which causes the 4 myrs that enter to also be Myr Battlespheres which create 16 more myrs that you can then turn into battlespheres - making copies of smaug so that they die to legend rule and give you 14 treasures (extra spicy with academy manufacturer) - making copies of lords or creatures that buff themselves if there are artifacts or creatures with the same name (personal favorite is Filigree Attendant) - krark-clan ironworks - shared animosity
There and Back Again making Smaug, then turning all your tokens into him, then getting that many-1 times 13 treasure tokens due to legend rule is always fun, and horrifying to be on the receiving end of.
Smaug is such a funny wincon, honestly. Everyone in my playgroup started saving their enchantment removal for it, though, so I've taken it out... for now.
Friend of mine made Brudiclad a sort of group hug deck for early game. He gives us treasures and the like then all of a sudden he makes one dragon token and has 18 of em swinging at us.
Brudiclad belongs in the 99 of my Saheeli deck. "Oh, you've got a bunch of treasure and thopters? Ok I guess." . . . "When did you get 15 Blightsteel Colossi on the field."
that one legendary smaug token that makes 20 treasures on death is WILD in brudichad, you turn all your tokens into smaug, legend rule off everything, and get 20x the tokens for next turn :)
I like doing this deck with 0/0 Construct tokens that get +1/+1 for each other artifact. It kinda gets a Karn sub theme going, though I don’t run Great Creator. It could though.
Lets not forget the secret commander of this deck, Urza Because who doesn't love making an instant army of tokens that get bigger for each artifact you have
I made a Brudiclad deck and wound up playing against a Rhys deck. I copied all their things which included a bunch of mana dorks and Rhys, which is infinite tokens since the dorks had haste and Rhys copied himself. I didn’t even mean to go infinite, I just wanted to make a bunch of myr.
I love this guy he's one of my main commanders, when I bought the red blue 2018 artifact deck after one game and I immediately swapped the Planeswalker Commander for this guy and I have made it my mission to every game try to make a army of bane of Bala ged and exile my entire opponent's board before blockers are even considered I even bought a second copy of him just for my xyris the writhing storm deck to become a non-partner partner Commander for a rule zero game with adrix and Nev twin casters so I have two different Commander options for the game parallel lives on a commander and a commander that lets me turn all my tokens into a copy of any other token I control so I can have a bunch of clues food treasures gold and just one or two good token creatures that are big and boom I have a decent army as long as they're not legendaries although I do have helm of the host I can throw in the deck just to make copies of one of my three optional commanders although I do have essix Fractal bloom in the deck so at the beginning of my turn thanks to from beyond so I can make a copy of one of my other big creatures and then when combat comes around turn everything into that big dumb creature
Brudiclad is one of my favorite commanders. I had a really janky brudiclad deck that just wanted to make 5/5 dragons out of treasure tokens. I want to put a new list together for the commander
I've been personally brainstorming the idea of a Brudiclad spellslinger deck. I want to surprise my playgroup when they're expecting the usual Brudiclad shenanigans and instead get entirely different Brudiclad shenanigans.
I love the other chaotic things Brudiclad can do, like say if I were to make a token copy of possibility storm I can make an army of possibility storm tokens or even just hive mind tokens.
Used this boy to make a "Luck Bobblehead" deck (named "Bobbleclad") where after making a token copy of it with Bclad and 20-30 random tokens on the field, I'd usually just win the game or at least have 50+ tapped treasures (fortunately Luck and Charisma head both produce a bunch of tokens too!).
Got a friend who loves to play this card and try to go full spaghetti monster with this guy. And considering you can have non-legendary copies you can see where this is going...
Roodaka. Those "armor pieces" are boobs, and everyone knows it. The whole plot line that years was about your body changing and feeling strange urges, too...
This deck is the biggest case of "it sucks until it doesn't"

I'm just disappointed it's taken this long. He seems to have a niche but outspoken following compared to most commanders. Personally, I've been considering testing the waters with Veyran in the 99 for my dragonmaker of choice.
also gotta say, it's at least a little satisfying when I *do* get the win with the 2/1 myrs. never underestimate the power of an expendable 2/1/
@@leopardbunny They're twice as deadly as 1/1s!
my favorite thing to do when I had brudiclad was make a bunch of Utvara Hellkites. good times
All of my friends check under their beds for Karn-struct tokens before they go to sleep. Not because they’re particularly afraid, but because those things just end up everywhere
So long as you acknowledge there are hot ones this judgement will stand.
As someone who has played Brudiclad, he actually sucks, because people are actually reading cards now. I play anything fancier than fucking Blues Clues and the table hits me with seventeen board wipes and a nutshot.
Treat him like a sorcery rather than a creature. It helps him a lot. So does copying creatures that make more tokens.
As a monored/Izzet player, slow roll the shit out of your opponent. My group sees Ojer Axonil hit the field and I am seeing G-d quicker than I can cast Shock.
Oh, also try creatures that do things when they die. Scuttling Doom Engine and, of course, Wurmcoil Engine to name a few.
Bootyman was the reason I got into magic. Been my main squeeze for 6 years and drawing a hand is like popping the cork off a 40 year cabernet and taking a deep whiff. Even if I were to stop playing and sell my entire collection, I will never part with the Booty Warrior.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who got sucked in thanks to the Clad Lad specifically.
That Bionicles reference hit me in the gut. Such a great toy line
I just had a deck idea that I have to build now
Brudiclad Eldrazi (Scions)
Free mana every turn, plus it turns cards like Ral’s Reinforcements (2 mana for 2 tokens) into “pay 2, make 2 treasures”
Eventually just build up enough scions for one of the new funni eldrazi (which you are now legally obligated to make a video on)
I did a similar thing with treasure generation. Most scion/spawn generators sadly only care about ETB/cast, which isn't super useful for Brudi. Also, never play him expecting him to stick for more than a turn, learned that from my years of playing him.
Everybody's a gangsta, until Sythis, Harvest's Hand hits the table on turn 2 with extra mana to spare...
Honestly, my friend's Brudiclad deck is one of my favorite ones to play against in our group, just to see what happens. One time he turned his board into an exponentially increasing number of Thopter Spy Networks.
I wanna know the secret of how he got the enchantment token.
Didn't expect my Brudiclad roast to include Bionicle references lol Thanks Mald. Brudiclad is my scary deck in my pod, nobody expects Grand Architect to multiply and gank them.
using a blue mana dork as a wincon is one of the many joys of playing Brudi
Although he said no, it's only because it wasn't one of the cute ones🤔 1:25
A friend of mine has this deck and his goal is to make as many copies of food fight as possible and honestly every time I get domed for 80+ after a frankly silly turn I just feel proud of him.
I wanna know how the hell he got 80+ copies of an enchantment...
My boy finally had his time in the spotlight❤️ also if you want the stupidest brudiclad tech think about what happens when you have 9 academy manufactors
academy manufacturer and this telchor engineer are a match made in heaven
I was gonna build this to see how many brudiclads I could get on the field at once (and then obviously invest in extra combats)
try Nanogene Conversion! it'll give you a good head start if you have any creatures on board at all, especially if one is a creature token as it'll let you make all the myrs you make into brudiclads.
Throwing this in the Brudiclad spellslinger I'm brainstorming, for sure.
my favorite commander, and one of my favorite characters, kool lore
I recently got a FMK for The Watcher in the Water and immediately imagined your making a video of the card.
Brudiclad is my favorite combo finisher in my dragon deck
Theres a cheaky little combo with the sentinel wurm where every dragon cast makes 8 treasures, a copy of the dragon, and 2 dragon tokens
Finish it with earthquake dragon and then drop brudiclad, move to combat and turn every token you control into the earthquake dragon copy
You recieve an army of at least 11 earthquake dragons that have haste
"Can Brudiclad get it? No"
I see that you have chosen to live the half existence of a coward.
"Congratulations you have been a victim of propaganda" hahahaha. Your one liners are always on point
Some of my favorites include
- stacking mystic reflection on Myr Battlesphere, which causes the 4 myrs that enter to also be Myr Battlespheres which create 16 more myrs that you can then turn into battlespheres
- making copies of smaug so that they die to legend rule and give you 14 treasures (extra spicy with academy manufacturer)
- making copies of lords or creatures that buff themselves if there are artifacts or creatures with the same name (personal favorite is Filigree Attendant)
- krark-clan ironworks
- shared animosity
Have you tried copying Academy Manufactor itself, yet?
Also if you want a more reliable and flexible, if less powerful, alternative to Smaug, try Atsushi!
"It's a Bionicle and not one of the hot ones" one of the truests statements ever
Irenicus' vile duplication, now an army of flying brudiclad are there making more
Me, on my way to use one copy spell and suddenly have 37 Guttersnipes:
Coruscation Mage!! It copies itself!! And can use any noncreature effect!
There and Back Again making Smaug, then turning all your tokens into him, then getting that many-1 times 13 treasure tokens due to legend rule is always fun, and horrifying to be on the receiving end of.
Atsushi is a great alternative, as well! Cheaper, more reliable, and flexible, if not as powerful.
Very glad to learn that my favorite Magic RUclipsr is also a Bionicle fan.
I love this, Smaug, and aggravated assault.
Maldhound hinting that he is also a Roodaka simp is the validation and reassurance I needed today
Played this deck, was fun making some goblins, turning them into Smaug and then having a ton of mana
Smaug is such a funny wincon, honestly. Everyone in my playgroup started saving their enchantment removal for it, though, so I've taken it out... for now.
This further cements my hatred of blue and "copy/clone target" ANYTHING.
Love the reference of the non-euclidian mass :D
Bludiclad can't get it. His clone army, on the other hand...
How do you think he gets so many of them?
I wish Raff, weatherlight stalwart had just a bit if red in him for this guy.
THERE HE IS.
He may not be able to get it but I’m definitely for it
Friend of mine made Brudiclad a sort of group hug deck for early game. He gives us treasures and the like then all of a sudden he makes one dragon token and has 18 of em swinging at us.
Brudiclad belongs in the 99 of my Saheeli deck.
"Oh, you've got a bunch of treasure and thopters? Ok I guess."
. . .
"When did you get 15 Blightsteel Colossi on the field."
Oh that's why you wanna play it with idol of oblivion. Now I get itttt
Asking once again, sir, to light up Scion of the Ur-Dragon. He's a funny lil' guy
I used to play this deck it was one of my scariest thanks to an interaction with Helm of the host
that one legendary smaug token that makes 20 treasures on death is WILD in brudichad, you turn all your tokens into smaug, legend rule off everything, and get 20x the tokens for next turn :)
I like doing this deck with 0/0 Construct tokens that get +1/+1 for each other artifact. It kinda gets a Karn sub theme going, though I don’t run Great Creator. It could though.
Lets not forget the secret commander of this deck, Urza
Because who doesn't love making an instant army of tokens that get bigger for each artifact you have
I made a Brudiclad deck and wound up playing against a Rhys deck. I copied all their things which included a bunch of mana dorks and Rhys, which is infinite tokens since the dorks had haste and Rhys copied himself. I didn’t even mean to go infinite, I just wanted to make a bunch of myr.
Once more I beseech the Lord of Roasts to take a crack at Eight-and-a-Half-Tails. He's my favorite commander.
GIVE ME OVIKA, ENIGMA GOLIATH
I love this guy he's one of my main commanders, when I bought the red blue 2018 artifact deck after one game and I immediately swapped the Planeswalker Commander for this guy and I have made it my mission to every game try to make a army of bane of Bala ged and exile my entire opponent's board before blockers are even considered
I even bought a second copy of him just for my xyris the writhing storm deck to become a non-partner partner Commander for a rule zero game with adrix and Nev twin casters so I have two different Commander options for the game parallel lives on a commander and a commander that lets me turn all my tokens into a copy of any other token I control so I can have a bunch of clues food treasures gold and just one or two good token creatures that are big and boom I have a decent army as long as they're not legendaries although I do have helm of the host I can throw in the deck just to make copies of one of my three optional commanders although I do have essix Fractal bloom in the deck so at the beginning of my turn thanks to from beyond so I can make a copy of one of my other big creatures and then when combat comes around turn everything into that big dumb creature
I was and still sort of am a Lego kid, and I'm not ashamed to admit that every time I see this card it does sound like the most fun deck ever
gonna need a list of the hot bionicles now
Hey look, my Shark Typhoon made a 6/6 Flying Shark. Hey look, now all my Tokens are 6/6 Flying Sharks.
I rlly want him for my gimbal deck, this guy rules
Behold a dozen plus blightsteel colossuses!
In my goro-goro and saturo deck Brudiclad turns all my treasures into 5/5 flying dragons.
what tf do you mean "hot Bionicle's"
You know damn well which ones
The hot ones
Roodaka. Those "armor pieces" are boobs, and everyone knows it. The whole plot line that years was about your body changing and feeling strange urges, too...
I never thought I would actually suggest people find a religion ☠️
Lego gives a second meaning to the phrase "bricked up"
This was the card to give me my first Commander Moment (tm)
Making an entire field of darksteel juggernauts out of nowhere just hits different
This commander works really well with a commander called Urtet, Remnant of Memnarch
Its fun one ive had army before of platinum emporuim, ancent stone idols, and sharding sphinx to name a few of the scariest
I have decks with this card in it, I've brewed a deck with him as the commander, and until this video, I did not realize that first line was there.
This with dollhouse of horrors is a fun combo
As a Riku of Two Reflections player who once got to recur, kick, and copy Rite of Replication every turn, I couldn't be prouder.
Autism awareness
Me when Helm of the Host into Brudiclad Waterfall
Try Quantum Misalignment, Irenicus' Vile Duplication, and Nanogene Conversion!
