    This is just the 4th lesson and I feel like giving up-- JK. 😭😂
    I desperately want to become fluent in English and improve my grammar but this language is quite complicated and tricky that I have to put extra effort to pay attention into details.
    I'm looking forward to learn more from you. I'll be in your care during this Quarantine. Thank you so much teacher Fanny!

    Thank you for the wonderful lesson! I'm having difficulties clarifying something about open compound nouns (noun+noun). For instance, compound nouns such as "car park", "dream theater", "requirement specifications" - they all infer a plural meaning, don't they? I mean, a car park is a park where there are a lot of cars there, not just one single car (but you wouldn't say "cars park" or "cars parks"). The same should apply to "requirement specification", right? One wouldn't say "requirements specification" or "requirements specifications", even though the noun "requirement specifications" refers to "the specifications of the requirements". Or did I get it all wrong? I hope I'll get a answer from you. I wish you all the best.

    • @ShawEnglishOnline
      @ShawEnglishOnline  4 года назад

      A car park only means 1 facility.
      You still need to add an 's' to make it plural.
      Requirement specification is just 1.

      Infelizmente é uma grande limitação nossa ter um listen desafinado. Eu tive muitas dificuldades com isso aqui na Australia. Sabia a palavra escrita mas não conhecia o som da mesma. Tente usar o app "Lirics treining" é um excelente app para afinas os ouvidos aos sons das palavras em inglês.
