I was thrilled when I discovered I had been writing unknowing the beats you described in Act One - Three. I now had a map to guide my stoytelling. Thanks so much! I'm glad they are helpful! One of Harry’s biggest flaws in the first book is confidence. He’s not yet confident as a wizard (and that’s the point of the first book, to bring him into the Wizarding world and guide him closer to his destiny as the “Boy who lived.”) That’s why every step of the way, Rowling throws challenges at him that force him to confront this flaw and build his confidence. 😊
What can happen to your characters, or what has happened in their past to lead to a conflict? I'll bet there's something there with potential for a conflict. You can do this! Good luck with your writing!
