Looks great! For cold cider, I'd say making it carbonated is the way to go (I love sparkling apple cider in hot summer weather) so I'll try your recipe and put it through my soda stream at the end, we'll see if that works : D
How was it?
It was very good! I'd suggest making sure to strain it really really well, as clear as you can - atleast for me it tasted kind of funny when i made a batch that was carbonated AND had bits floating around xD but overall a success
I was so afraid it was going to be a silent video where Chef Mar takes us on a trip to his local Seven 11
One of my fondest memories as a child was going to the local orchard in the summer and fall to have fresh cold or hot apple cider. I look forward to giving it a go :)

Hey, I just wanted to thank you for all of your videos. I love Genshin Impact, and want to try everything! However I have a post-Covid disorder called parosmia that makes most things smell/taste like rotting garbage/corpses. Sometimes I cry a bit watching because I miss eating delicious foods so much, but honestly, I have some hope watching your videos that someday I may get my taste back and be able to try these delicious recipes.

Put it on a stove instead (cuz no pressure cooker) and I've used pretty much this recipe before. though I've experimented a lot. Apple cider is a big thing where I grew up. my current style uses chai tea bags too (gives it some zing)
Or sometimes I just buy the Mayador stuff from Dollarama. That tastes great.
Could you try Albedo's Special or just the Sunshine Sprat I think it's called

This may be the best homemade apple cider you’ve ever made.
This reminds me of Saudi champagne. I don't remember the exact measurements, but you mix apple juice, ice cream soda with sliced apple, orange, lemon and some mints. Serves cold. I like to let it sit for some time to let the flavours mingle and it has very refreshing taste.

Apple Cider is actually a slightly alcoholic beverage since it possesses a degree of alcohol equivalent to 2 to 5%. It is made from the fermentation of apple juice and is usually consumed by minors as well (excluding children of course !), due to the low percentage of alcohol, just as the vinegar somehow (between 0,5 and 3% for the most alcoholic, therefore even children can consume it in salads and so on) ! :))
The genshin one says a non alcoholic drink.
@@ChefMar Yes absolutely you are totally right ! ^^ That is maybe why this is less flavoured than the original xD Genshin seems to be really careful regarding alcohol with minors !

What if you dilute the cider with sparkling water or tonic water to give it a lighter color, as well as give it a crispier feeling.
Will that sort of improve the taste for cold cider?

I have a quick question: If I use too much water can I boil it down to get a stronger flavour later? I've never dried making my own cider and it looks fun.

Personally, I wouldn't want it any sweeter. BTW, I used crude sugar instead of white sugar. At times, I think it's better. The same goes for palm sugar, honey, or maple juice. The question is just which of them...

Its funny because where i'm from, we tend to argue about cider by saying "that's not alcohol that's a soft beverage".
But its actually an alcohol.
So i still dont know if cider in genshin impact is litterally a non alcoholic beverage, or if people use the same hypocrisy as we does.
Lol in europe cider is an alcoholic beverage. In North America it's a drink for special occasions during winter that is non alcoholic. Sometimes used to sober up actually. This is a North American Apple Cider.
Guess I better go apple picking after seeing this :-)

Hi. Thank you very much vor the video. Would it be possible to ask you for some reference materials for making non-alcoholic beverages and mocktails. Some of the people I know, myself included, don't like alcohol but we still want to make something festive/exotic looking for drinking on occasions.
Just made this, it was pretty good, but next time I would add only half an orange, or maybe a couple more apples. It was just a pit too orangey to call it 'apple' cider imo

You fooled me. I expected you to add more sugar, cook it and add some yeast to it and ferment it... (In my language Cider refers strictly to an alcoholic beverage made from apples)
BTW: have you ever made any alcohol yourself? I made banana wine for a school project. (those were different times I guess. LOL)
You can make alcohol from pretty much any sugar source, but some give it a very distinct taste: grapes, crude sugar, palm sugar, honey...
