    Just a quick note to say thanks for your 1190 videos, I've used a few of them now. Done 23k on mine this year so doing jobs myself has really kept the cost down. Just changed the radiator plugs filters! 😃 👍

    All the parts needed, a large pizza and 12-pack and my local KTM mechanic takes care of everything in his home garage, while I watch MotoGP re-runs.

    Love your videos! Great how to videos especially for those who are a little timid about their own work! Figured I’d throw out there that an auto mechanic taught me a trick on using a piece of 3/8 hose to slide over the plug to start the threads. Seems to be an awesome trick. Worth a try, but magnet works well too! Happy riding!!!

      Charlottesville. Should get my bike within a month(haven even seem the bike yet, was sent directly there from a local KTM dealer in CA). Hopefully I’ll get it back by this year. Stage-6, Brembo M50s, upgraded wheels, arrow exhaust systems, Voayager Pro, the whole nine yards. I currently ride a Xdiavel S, but I’m planning some major cross country / Latin America trips for next year on the KTM.

    Nice 1 Mario, 1 maintenance & modification job, 50 vids 😁, I will remember this vid when it comes to doing my plugs, or to make things easier... I'll buy a new bike lol, good work mate, keep it up pal.

    • @2WR
      @2WR  6 лет назад +1

      LOL, figured it would make it easier to break them up a bit so people could pick and choose the video they need as opposed to watching a 2 hour video of me doing everything. If I wasn't filming everything I could've knocked out the air box install, spark plugs, sas delete kit, and valve check in a day. But filming at least doubles everything so it was a weekend job.

  • @triumphrider9796
    @triumphrider9796 6 лет назад +2

    That looks like almost as much fun as changing the plugs on the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT I had; I found it hard to believe it was a 4-hour labor charge, so I did it myself, only took me 4 1/2 (and the front cylinder bank took about 5 minutes).

  • @stephenpatton8690

    So this is why it cost me over £600 for my first major service, at least I'm well practiced on removing the front fairings after the weekend.
    Great video as always :D

    • @2WR
      @2WR  6 лет назад +1

      Yep. While there is nothing technically difficult (IMO) to perform in the first major service interval, it is time consuming (shop hours). Filming the process probably doubled my time.

    A piece of old water hose will feel more secure than the magnet. Also useful for reinstalling the plugs.

    Thanks buddy's question, did you notice something wrong with the motorcycle if you put the sparks in wrong order/place. I go to a non official KTM dealer to service and change the sparks plugs after that my motorcycle start overheating, can this be related?
    I already check the thermostat both are fine, I put new ones just in case but still overheating also I purged the system, still overheating.
    Can be caused by wrong spark plugs order?
    Thanks buddy.

    Do you have any kind of trick to hold the spark plug in the socket while you are dropping it into the hole?

    • @2WR
      @2WR  Год назад

      Three different methods. 1) use a spark plug socket (rubber grommet on the inside of the socket will hold it with friction) 2) place a small magnet in the top of the socket 3) use a little expanding wand with a magnet tip to lower it, then a skinny screwdriver to dislodge it once it’s in place.

      All depends on the individual. I can complete the 18k service (plugs, valves, oil, etc) for about $150 vs the $1,000-1,200 the dealer charges, so prefer to do it myself.
