My hot take: the scariest thing about ROOM is that he's in pain. There at the beginning it looks like he's seizuring, and he does that same jerking movement in 'They Don't Know.' Something's physically coming over him that he can't stop and can barely endure. Meaning, *he's not gonna be in control of whatever terrifying thing you think he's gonna do to you.* The kind of pain that's ready to attack anything that moves, burn anything it touches. It evokes this nauseating cocktail of pity and terror in the viewer. As humane people we're supposed to have sympathy for anything suffering this much, and we almost do, we almost get there, and then ROOM looks us in the eyes and reminds us what he is. Favorite video in the series by far
@@natalelomas2848 I feel its just the way he expresses love in a realationship in relationships hes probably had past trauma qnd accidently pushed people away so when some seeks him in either love or freindly he kinda freaks out the irradic moving and jerking is just his anxiety of losing people and in the they dont know its just him being frustrated because he doesnt know how to approach people atleast thats how I see it. What he means by fear is the fear of losing people as well as love to the person. Hes a good person he just doesnt know the answer to this barrier. So in turnhe wont loose control its just a fact he cant express himself with people trying to turn away from him so when he tries to avoid this he only scares people off more causing more frustration in him.
My theory for this video is that it's about the loneliness of lacking love/connection with others. The narrator, Room (people seem to be using this name for the triangle head dude), says that he has "seen of it" and "heard of it", meaning that Room can recognize something but hasn't experienced it for himself. The thing that Room is talking about is "drawing near without reprisal", i.e. getting close to someone without them responding in a hostile way. "Bridging the chasm" also refers to the same concept, as forming a relationship with someone removes the distance between people. These lines are actually describing love. Room has tried to find love, seeking out someone who he wants to become close to, but he is immobilized from his own self-doubt and fear. So the only possible way for love to develop is if the other person approaches Room. In doing so, this person must "detach themself from those with everything," which refers to the people who Room thinks of as happy and fulfilled because they have experienced love. If Room's crush (for want of a better word) comes to him, they will see both love and fear in his eyes, emotions which Room considers to be one and the same. This all ties in to the video's title, too. Of course, I could be completely wrong, but I just wanted to share my guess at the possible deeper meaning. I absolutely adore this video, especially how it ends -- it gives me shivers every time.
The angle at 0:48 is legitimately incredible and is so unnerving, I’m amazed more blockbuster horror movies don’t use it. and the fact that you animate all of this yourself?? pls keep doing what ur doing

Well, since no one seem to have done it, I've reconstructed the track myself. But I can't post the link here, RUclips automatically deletes my comment without any warning.
Why do I get this weird sensation like this practically unrecognizable, humanoid, distorted caricature of a person with a triangle head speaking to me through the voice modulators from Nier Automata is actually a kind of okay person who wouldn't actually do any real harm to me if I met him? Normally in this situation you'd feel unnerved, right? But I feel like he's not dangerous, especially given the range of comments about people's interpretations.
Love this & having played Automata I definitely agree with this analogy. If what others said can be taken literally, this “creature” who is so far gone in their own loneliness could be considered a robot for “lacking emotions” having never grown close to love another person. The thought of love scares them, that fearful adrenaline of growing closer to someone “without reprisal” (hostility). Tldr; they wouldn’t hurt you, they long to be understood but can’t bring themselves to be vulnerable & be abused
It’s because it’s not horror, in fact I don’t think it was never meant to be. This series shows characters unhinged by the constructs of any clichés of story telling, anything we would expect to deliver is contrasted by something pure in that is completely original. In this pure form it is able to represent things that the characters are going through the same things we are going through, stress, anxiety, peur, all of it and they are able to give answers and advice on how to be better. It’s not a horror series, just the most unhinged PSA of all time.

My family also has a history of depression, which sadly was passed down to me but these have helped me see there is a way though. You have changed me with these videos and brought me peace. Question, does your videos have an order to see or a story behind it? I'm asking cuz if I rememer good, you're making a kind of project that were previously a graphic novel and, because is a bit confusing your character's designs in animations I'm a bit curious about that
I’m starting to believe the triangle-headed man from the quarantine video is not the same as the one we see here. The first - who I’ll call “A” for convenience - debuts in the quarantine video. His body is featureless save for a pair of eyes, and he speaks in whispers, sometimes with long, unnatural gaps between syllables. The second - B, as I’ll refer to them - is the one we see here, as well as in the “They Don’t Know” video. They have a slight amount of extra detail, most notably in their face and hands. Their hands are actually visible, as opposed to A’s entirely pitch black appearance, and they seem to be wearing a mask of some sort, which is eerily similar to that worn by the angel in Prelude. Another distinction between the two is the way they speak. While A speaks in whispers, B speaks in a more low, deadpan voice. Now for my theory. Judging by what’s presented in this video, most notably the shot of A sitting on a throne, I’m of the assumption that A is a sort of symbol of perfection, not necessarily a god, but a picture of what everyone should strive to be. As seen in the Daily Routine video, A appears to have originated as a simple being before casting away everything that chained them down, they were free to live as they saw fit. They were free. B saw this happen and desperately wanted to do the same, to become as free as A was. But no matter what they tried, nothing would work. Just watch the first seven seconds of this video and tell me that’s not somebody unleashing all of their pent up hatred at the gods that forced them to live in this cruel and torturous world, constantly tormented with visions of what’s just out of reach, like a pig hopelessly chasing after a carrot dangling before their eyes, the gods are the ones holding the stick it’s tied to. I need sleep.
they are the same, an art on the creator’s twitter shows B’s white mask peeling off, displaying the face of the entity in the Daily Routine vid. same character
Nice work brother; glad to see a new one from you, fuckin love that character you’ve created. Stoked to see me more, your stuff rly inspires me, you and breadman are definitely my favourites
No work of art has kept me in that area of having a vague idea of what's going on and its deeper meanings, but not enough for me to move on just yet as I still want to understand it fully, keeping me invested in it possibly forever. The key to real mystery is not having something to solve, it's making someone want to solve it.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love" - 1 John 4:18
I discovered you through your "They don't know video" a few weeks ago. I must say, I peur, peur, peur, peur your art. I've always love horror but also surrealism, and everything weirdcore etc and I'm always glad to find gems like you. Having words to describe certain kinds of aesthetics and atmospheres with all the "aesthetic" and "-core" trends to express what you like is really nice, to be honest. This is pure, beautifull Art. First, you see Triangle-Dude is twitching and swinging with his Body parts, mumbling random Words, then suddenly, he losses his calm and screams out of desperation and used his "Power". (His eyes shone which indicate it) Second, after the Scream, quick short silence with upcoming Ambient blowing wind. Afterwards, the Movements in the Complex/Stairs while the eerie Music plays. The most interesting Part of it, is during the movements in the Complex/Stairs, while Triangle-Dude describes about a Feeling, which in the end was "Fear". However, what he truly describes was about "Love". (For a full explanation, please look up username "MagPious", about his Theory, in which I fully agree with it) What also to be noted is, at 0:19, 0:28, 0:33, 0:52 and 1:01 there are grayish moving patterns which could to determine his doubt, thou at 1:10, 1:12, 1:17, 1:24 and 1:26, these black Stairs could mean similar, since the Path goes only down like "going deeper into the Darkness". Lastly, the Grave at 1:04, the moving Hands above the ceiling at 1:13 and the mysterious Creatures at 1:28/1:30. The Grave has been known, that this is his "Home". In the Video "Consequences.", where Triangle-Dude describe it "empty" and "cold". The moving Hands above the ceiling have yet to be revealed of their meaning. Since in the Videos "Zoning Ordinance" and "I_met_a_beautiful_angel" have also some Hand movements/position for a specific meaning. The mysterious Creatures are hard to recognize from their Black/White appearance, yet you can see them heavily breathing. Overall, the rest explains clearly the connections with the other Videos, _ Boisvert has created in the past. And I'm really fascinated by his work.
i've watched this video a bunch before, because I just like it's style a lot, but now it's been years since I've first watched it, it's incredibly late at night, and re-watching this made me cry. 2024 has been a hard year, and it really feels like some version of Room has been haunting me, or something "I have sought you out- but it is to no avail. I am immobilized." that really struck me in the heart this time
This creators work gives me the feeling of playing one of those old pixel point and click games. How to animation will give the feeling of human movement, but it just doesnt feel right. The sudden jumping of some frames. It gives me a amazing uneasy feeling. I love it.
Maybe this isn't the message that is being conveyed, but to me, it sounds like he's describing the type of feeling you get when you anxiously meet someone for the first time. Like the "butterflies in your stomach" feeling. Someone that you'd regard them with high admiration, like a crush or some idle with a very esteemed reputation. As if overwhelmed and unworthy by their presents, you become mesmerized, flustered, starstruck, or most likely in this case, petrified. I mean the title helps hint to the idea.

This all ties in to the video's title, too.

the only words i could make out from this scene is "my urge" "this urge"
@@valorrequiem6482 still an interesting theory
agreed

No work of art has kept me in that area of having a vague idea of what's going on and its deeper meanings, but not enough for me to move on just yet as I still want to understand it fully, keeping me invested in it possibly forever.
The key to real mystery is not having something to solve, it's making someone want to solve it.

Anyone else hear "Passanger" and "Take my advice" ?
i love this style of animation
This is the kinda stuff that gives me the chills, like.. no jumpscares usually, just really creepy videos
I'm guessing that you're French, and if you are, it makes me even more happy because it seems like we lack those kind of content here. I only used Patreon one time but you make me want to explore that website more.
I fucking love this
it makes my stomach churn and it uneases me the way it damn well fucking should
I dont know who this is for or why it was made, but I love it
concise yet vague
poetry backed by outlandish visuals
it makes me feel like a sinner
This is pure, beautifull Art.
First, you see Triangle-Dude is twitching and swinging with his Body parts, mumbling random Words, then suddenly, he losses his calm and screams out of desperation and used his "Power".
(His eyes shone which indicate it)
Second, after the Scream, quick short silence with upcoming Ambient blowing wind.
(For a full explanation, please look up username "MagPious", about his Theory, in which I fully agree with it)
What also to be noted is, at 0:19, 0:28, 0:33, 0:52 and 1:01 there are grayish moving patterns which could to determine his doubt, thou at 1:10, 1:12, 1:17, 1:24 and 1:26,
these black Stairs could mean similar, since the Path goes only down like "going deeper into the Darkness".
The name of the triangle dude is room

We need a horror game based on this art style

i've watched this video a bunch before, because I just like it's style a lot, but now it's been years since I've first watched it, it's incredibly late at night, and re-watching this made me cry. 2024 has been a hard year, and it really feels like some version of Room has been haunting me, or something
"I have sought you out- but it is to no avail. I am immobilized."
that really struck me in the heart this time
This creators work gives me the feeling of playing one of those old pixel point and click games.
I mean the title helps hint to the idea.
ive been searching for someone with a style similar to mason lindroth and i found you, love your stuff
When Garou awakens
Strangest thing was that one of those images were in my dreams before I watched this.

Who immobilised my boy. Get ready for these hands
The way this looks is how derealization feels.
I SERIOUSLY LOVE SO MUCH THIS IS COMPLETELY AMAZING: DD
this evangelion angel lookin a bit different

Incredible work! And sick aesthetic, ngl
This is interesting, i'm getting Joel G vibes from this style, well done!
Love this stuff, I’ll consume it by the handful
I’m constantly waiting for the nastiest gnarliest black metal chord to drop during all of these
Every phrase sent chills throughout me. I genuinely do not know how you are this talented.
just accidentally clicked on this video with no prior knowledge of what it could be but now I am creeped out and intrigued. if the comments are true, I hope this does become a rpg game, it’ll definitely bring back a genre that was lost a decade ago.
I REALLY love this Character! More Please!
