  • G`day sweet folks and subscribers to the channel 🐝 🧉
    I know there is always a lot of discussion and opinions about the Flow Hive both this way and that, so here is another chance to air them. 🥊🤣🤣😛
    The latest episode from The Weedy Garden will show you the hive from my perspective. In my opinion folks it is gentle, practical, bee friendly and clean and easy to harvest. You still need to know how to care for your bees, to assist them in fending for themselves (they are a wild insect after all).
    There is time to harvest, and times NOT to harvest. A few easy steps I take to maintain the hive are explained in this video. I have another video on my channel here: • THE FLOW HIVE - Harves... where we look at the hive on the inside.
    I am working on another video at the moment where I successfully split the hive.
    I`m open for discussion here in the comments, to hear your EXPERIENCE with the flow hive. If you are totally against them I encourage you to explain why. Perhaps we all can shed some light on some misinformation while we are here :-) Let`s keep it sweet righto :-)
    Thank you Flow for the extra footage of the beautiful bees an slow motion!
    Have a splendid weekend
    Weedy

    • @TheWeedyGarden
      @TheWeedyGarden  Месяц назад +1

      Good question. You could watch “splitting a hive” video. It will give you one idea. Another is to catch a swarm, another barter something for some bees. I would say last resort would be to buy some, but yes, you need to find a colony to inhabit your hive. They will very unlikely find it themself. There are just way too many natural locations they could find.

    I have a serious ocd about sticky things, so this looks like a great option for me. Thank you for the well-directed and clear video of how to care for these hives. I'd heard such negative reviews from local old-timers about it, but this makes me confident I could manage it pretty easily while keeping my bees healthy and disturbing them as little as possible.

    Great video. I’ve always wanted to get a flow hive I definitely will now when i get out of the military. I was wondering if you would ever do a video on cameras? I really like going out into nature and taking pictures and close but I’m a bit of a noobie

    Where I live in the forest, there is a lot of honey in the highlands. I often harvest it to go to the market to sell and use for drinking and seasoning food. ❤

    That’s awesome!! I used to be a bee Keeper but I got badly stung once , maybe this method would be safer for me
    I love how you respect their needs and leave some of their hard work to feed themselves

    My husband was studying to be a beekeeper though he got spooked by the idea of mites. Do you have any suggestions on dealing with mites and the flow hiv3?

      They are not in my area so I have no experience with them. If you really want to know, the join the live shows that Cedar from Flow does every Wednesday on RUclips.

    Good video! Wish we had that beetle trap. We lost our gives to the beetles before we knew what they were and that we had them. Miss the bees.
