@@misterknightowlandco Exactly, sounds like BOSS are just Perfect in general since they do sound Great AND are Pro level Quality too. I think some might take that for granted but it's never been lost on me.
Very Cool, Thankyou. Sounds Amazing. I have added "Booster" Pedals to each of my Pedal Boards, so awesome, brings everything to another Level. All the Best, Cheers
I love the tone of this pedal. Great playing too BTW. This pedal is superb for single coils. They react totally different than humbuckers. This really helps them come into their own at different levels of gain.
In the context of your rig, that Boss booster made a lot of sense. It made your lead tone cut through the mix better than I've heard it do before. The caveat is, of course, that I'm hearing this through the internet, with all that that entails... Wether or not it'll make sense with Carina and John in the room with you... I've no idea.
I have to say i so happy i came across Cicci and Dave. The two most interesting musicians i've heard for the last twenty years for sure! And your weird sense of humor really appeals to me! ᥫ᭡
Thanks for showing this one! Could you pair it with the Boss CE-2W and show us that setup vs the PastFX CE-1 clone for achieving John's tone? I have the PastFX and I'm wondering if I should sell it and get that pair of Boss Waza pedals.
@@thedavesimpson How do you not have a Boss chorus pedal? It is literally the most important pedal on Frusciante's board. PastFX makes one, plz order it and compare!
@@NytronX He has the PastFX (or at least he had one and did a video on it already). I was asking him to compare the PastFX CE-1 clone to the CE-2W + BP-1W combo to see which is better at replicating the actual CE-1 for John's tone.
I see what you did there with the title, I'm giving her all she's got, Captain! She cannae take anymore. The hulls been breached and I don't ken wit tay day, big man!
Great stuff Dave! I know boost don’t normally have a tone control but I think this would benefit from one personally, too much treble in my opinion. Great video as always though!
Sounds great paired with my wampler pantheon which is a bluesbreaker style pedal, I made a review vid and a vid trying to get the John Frusciante tone on my channel but the way I’m using it is to boost my overdrive pedal for an in between gain stage. Really cool pedal, here’s hoping a for a full reissue of the CE-1!

If you still have your PastFX CE-1 preamp, can you do a comparison with that and the BP-1w for John's tone? You got really close with his tone when the BP-1w was used on its own!
Boss gear is definitely damn good and for a lot of their pedals aand gear not crazy expensive. Great demo Dave and man your playing is awesome! Thanks for another good one mate.
Hi Dave and I hope all is well in YOUR world. Yet another great review for "the people of the tube" to relish,. I recently picked up a Golden Plexi on your recommendation and must admit it's an awesome pedal. What are your thoughts on the DS1 compared to the DS2 and also have you ever reviewed OR used any Sonicake pedals ?.
this pedal looks interesting, but i have my mxr cae 404 line driver for this, it also pushes my rat to fuzz if i need it mid performance, also being short on money is a great way to kill GAS xD, anyway great review Dave, explaining how it would be useful live or recording and its good and bad things, thanks!
Bit of Villanova junction going on there. Cool... Boss eq pedal blew me away.... Infinity. Great vid Sustain is the name of the game. Is it ok on a solid state Amp.
Does Playing Boss BP-1W make anyone else really happy? Boss BP-1W is quickly becoming my favorite pedal. It's just so beautiful and sexy. Practically free and the second you drop her on the board that chill ass mofo gives you a Rich Dark Gushing Robust tone.. And you also get this cute little 1/1 feedback response usually too harmless to be forgotten. But more than that, the Boss BP-1 is just so positively alluring. It comes on the board like "do you want to cast a spell?" and I'm like "yeah BP-1W i do want to cast a spell let's do this shit" and when she attacks she's like "SPELLS ARE FUN" and I'm like "yeah they are SO FUN." She doesn't say some bullshit macho shit like "I will destroy you" she's just like "nah spells are fun and voodoo spooky.” And she looks so happy. I mean this is an inanimate object that literally brought my guitar to life by magic. It understands it's life is a temporary magical gift and the dude is just fucking loving it. I mean just look at her face she’s just so happy and cute as a button. I am literally never sad when Boss BP-1W is on board. IDK if she's gonna ever make it into the pedal HOF or not, but for now she a super dope chill pedal.
hey Dave. Can it produce a clean boost into overdrive/distortion without having too much effect on overall levels. For example if I want to have more saturation and sustain during the solos but not necessarily sounding louder compared to the rhythm tone
i once had a boss pedal many years ago ..was in the 80s but i forgot what the effect was , i only had an amp .little , not much else really ,and i thought maybe the boss will give me a better noise ,after all my guitar was very cheap ,an old £40 electric guitar from argos , so i thought that the boss would be the answer to all of my problems , however The threadbare equipment can't twist with the promise...it was still a noise , feedback i could not control .neighbours complaining ,,screaming and banging on my door , windows and walls ,there was nothing , absolutely nothing i could do !! It was then the ill guitar met the zany equipment.
love your playing, Dave!
What an amazing performance Dave!
👏👏👏👏👏
You are very talented and melodic. It is a pleasure to watch you playing.
when he hit those higher notes on that intro solo, it sent chills down my spine. awesome!
Just can’t beat Boss pedals. Incredible performance !
Boss pedals are the perfect balance of quality and price. They last forever, sound great, and reasonably priced.

Amp boost plexi ds2
