    Great video, fellas 👏 just a tip with carrying out that stag, tip them upside-down. They sit better on your pack, and a desperate hunter won't see you standing in the bush and accidentally shoot you. Really well put together with great voice over, I hope you create more. 👍

      Thanks mate, we really appreciate it 🍻 Shaun did get me to hang his blaze orange hat on the antlers for the walkout. Thanks for the advice, we will keep it in mind 👍 Also just want to say we love your channel, you do a great job 👌

    Hey mate great video, just wondering how do you know which parts of Alpine National Park are state forest and therefore available to hunters? Are there maps or something that you use? Just wondering as I plan to go sambar hunting there in the future and am aware that only certain parts of the park can be hunted.

      Thanks mate 🍻 jump on to the more to explore Vic app to find out where you can and can't hunt it's really handy. But when we are in the bush we use an app called hunt stand to track where we go. Both apps you can download areas off line so you can use them without internet. Hope this helps mate 👍

      Another quick question, where do you recommend going to enter the park and what's your typical method for getting set up? I'm yet to go sambar hunting so trying to learn as much as possible.@@wereonhereadventure6358

    great hunt lads , my only criticism it looked fairly dry the countryside i mean, I am so anti-fire in the dry weather and my agenda is for us hunters we can enjoy that life in Victoria but a few more campfires causing bush fire and campfires will be banned totally and while they are at it I'm sure access to public lands for camping and hunting will be "reviewed " I usually stop hunting end of spring and I don't start again until winters kicked in I will never have a fire when the bush is dry it's just not worth the risk

    • @wereonhereadventure6358
      @wereonhereadventure6358  9 месяцев назад

      G'day mate, I couldn't agree more you can't be too careful when it comes to fires. This was our only fire this trip and it was about 1m away from the river to cook our fish. We assessed the risk and we found it to be appropriate 👍 thanks for your comment mate

    Great trip just wish the government would realise the economic and personal benefits deer hunting has and stop culling deer on the advice of those that would have every introduced animal removed from the land scape but them selves in these areas that hunters frequently visit

    I’m confused, if you could carry the trophy why couldn’t you carry more meat? I’m not a hunter, but very interested in learning BTW.

    • @wereonhereadventure6358
      @wereonhereadventure6358  11 месяцев назад +1

      G'day mate. It just comes down to weight and how much we were capable of carrying out. We had a 5 hour walkout up the hardest mountain we've ever taken on. Our packs were already full 20+ kgs, + the meat + the trophy. It was alot. If we didn't take the trophy, a lot more meat would have been taken. Hope this helps 👍
