    5:36, I personally prefer the EL-1 because its so well integrated with the R bodies and have a solution for using the profoto and having the EL-1 on camera wirelessly trigger the profoto. You just pickup a phottix receiver, sync it with your el-1 4 digit code, check for green led (means the flash and receiver are connected), then mount your profoto trigger to the phottix and hang it on your b10's light pole and SHABANG you get to have your cake and eat it too! I recently had two profoto A2's at a b-day event triggered that way and it was swizzeeet!

    At 1:50 Vanessa said the R5 turns a 135mm lens to a 200mm. Her R3 does that (crop-sensor) so 1:1.6. The R5 is a full-frame camera, so 1:1. Other Canon crop-sensor mirrorless cameras include: EOS R100, EOS R50, EOS R10, and EOS R7. Sports guys love these for the extra reach out-of-camera. Sounds like Vanessa loves them for reaching into reception dance floors. I’ve never thought of that. Very cool idea.
    Wonderful channel. Vanessa could still take outstanding photos with a $500 set-up.

  • @RayValdezPhotography

    I use the r3 with the 28-70 at weddings now. the low light is better and the files are smaller so it takes up less drive space. the r5 i use the RF100 for ring shots and small details only in prep and the EF105 1.4 sigma on the R5 for ceremony and cocktail I use RF28-70 but if the RF85 very nice if there is room for it and if the background is kinda cluttered, ugly and i cant back up a lot i will try to use the rf50 1.2. For lights I bring 3 A1X and 1 A10. I use magmod on all of them and I have grids, gels, scoops and the dome thing. for outside and off camera lighting I will use the b10 if kinda cloudy or getting dark and the b10 plus if it is harsh ugly sunlight. I use a reflector for the light if the strobe isnt overpowering the sun or a manny ortiz BD if I can over power the ambient. I forgot to add i use the 15-35 just from wide room shots and thats it but that is of the lowest priority on my shot list.

      I've recently experimented with the lens taking pictures of myself (head to tummy) with the camera on a tripod and me triggering the shutter remotely. f/2.8 gives a good result with decent bokeh, f/5.0 gives some background context (immediate items are decipherable but still blurred, far items still blurred significantly), f/8.0 gives even more context (immediate background is almost in focus, far items are decipherable but blurred)

    I guess a change has been made in your bag. Your secret jewel 135mm is now RF one. For quite some time I'm in a dilemma over buying a RF 70-200mm f/2.8 ( I've got an EF 70-200mm f/2.8 mk 2 that's a gym dumbbell) or a RF 135mm. I love the versatility of 70-200mm lens but the weight holds me back from using it more often. The new RF version of 70-200 is considerably lighter and compact. On the other hand RF 135mm is even lighter and it goes down to f/1.8 but lacks the versatility. Whatever I decide to buy I won't make a mistake. Thank you for making another great video. I like your videos for posing wedding couples.

    I love the 135mm too. I don't use 1.6 crop mode. Since it's a digital zoom, I don't waste time switching from full to crop mode and back again. I just zoom in (crop) in post. Helps me concentrate on getting the shot, instead of concentraing on the mode my camera is in.
    To each his (or her) own. Still waiting for the 70-135mm f2.0 so I don't have to buy an 85mm f1.2.

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy Год назад +2

      See for me it takes me more time to crop it in post, but also because I use Freedom Edits and they do all of my editing, it’s better for me to do it in Camera so that I don’t even have to communicate things that I want cropped closer and post at all. It’s already done :-)
      That being said, I absolutely have forgotten that I was in a 16 crap mode before and it screwed me a little bit so you might just be better in your approach than I am!
