Dont forget to use both dexterity and targeting, the insane ready/stow still isn't peak because you still have to ads, but targeting mods give a .75x duration to ads speed which helps a ton
I was about to mention this! Though I don't think targeting is worth slotting overall in your loadout, dexterity mods are a must for double slugging! It is also said that while the Stow benefit is working, the Ready bonus is bugged for the dex mods, so it will be better once that is fixed.
@@vugolol considering for damage you're not really using anything else in the head slot I think it's worthwhile since only one copy is required to get the boost anyway
@@AutistiCat2406 considering for targeting on both slugs you would need one of each slot, that would mean you only get one slot left for other stuff. I usually run one siphon mod and one Ashes to Assets/Hands On, which would only let me use one targeting mod, so I don't know if it's worth it, also while trying both I usually just hold left click when swapping and haven't noticed much accuracy difference between the two while it keeps the same rate of fire.
A few notes: 1. Titans at least have access to Aeon Weapon Haste. It's a hassle to proc, but it's still something. Was a 0.8 ready/stow last I checked. 2. As someone else mentioned, Dex stacks on top of all that. The fools at Bungie broke it at the start of the season and either nerfed it hard or still haven't fully fixed it, though, so it does almost nothing in its current state. 3. Remember that kinetic weapons deal 15(?)% more damage than Stasis and Strand ones. You'll want to always pick Heritage unless your heavy weapon is stasis, but even then you're kinda hurting yourself with the stasis slug. 5. Quick Access Sling will also stack on top (0.9 ready stow last I checked). It'll obviously void your Boss spec, but for short burst phases, QAS can be superior if your swaps are nearly frame perfect. 5. Threat Detector! The actual ready/stow value seems to change every season on compendium so I really don't know anymore, but it takes your swaps from "good enough" to basically prenerf. Only viable on the Dragon's Shadow Hunter for obvious reasons, but it doesn't get better than this. 6. Running Slugs with Tractor is the obvious choice, but it can absolutely cook on the same level as "meta" loadouts with an ALH rocket, or a Ghorn Rotation on Hunter. Parasite doesn't work quite as well on sustained damage phases, but it remains an option.
Excellent points! And yeah I've seen on DDC that the Aeon one keeps changing so I chose not to include, what I want to know though is even if you stack QAS and Dex mods and Threat Detector, wouldn't the RPM still be capped? Or does it let you bypass it and shoot near pre-nerf speed? Also Taniks Bake comment! I know I've made it now fr haha
@@LlamaD2 You might hit RPM Cap with just slugs, yeah. It'll mostly benefit you when triple swapping with Tractor, a Rocket, or even Xeno like someone else suggested. But even with slugs, having an extra 0.1s of downtime would make it easier to adjust your aim, if you're shooting something like Taniks Head. Very situational. Not my first comment I think - altough I only appear whenever the quickswap iceberg is applicable
@penileymajorey7174if you're not raiding why do you care about optimal slug swapping? You're gonna put all this work in to kill a boss that dies in 2 rockets?
What i like to do when i use double slug is, because the rpm limits the speed of the shots, causing it to feel inconsistent, i use triple swapping with xenophage so the rpm on the shotguns feels less slow or inconsistent. Because dragons shadow negates the low xeno handling, it feels very snapy, even more with dexterity mods (This can be done on pc and controller with the right key binds)
@@LlamaD2 you should try it, I would use a soujourners tale coz both xeno and that are solar and can benefit from the same dexterity mods The key-bind change is just change swap weapon to a rotation option instead of a different key for a different slot Works very well on bosses like taniks, nezzy or the grasp ogre as long as crits are being hit
I just watched the video about this for the new update on Crodas end. Doing it in the death singer encounter. The person was also a warlock. It all makes sense now.
I remember farming a heritage back in beyond light just because of this meta. Tbh it wasn't my favorite as it felt pretty restrictive, but it was at least more engaging than the linear meta that proceeded it.
i suggest on hunter if you are with a team of double slugs actually running speedloader slacks because the buff at max stacks is pretty strong and can be refreshed just through kill and you can give it to teamates
I actually want to try this with aggressive frame seeing that Ragnhild-d Can roll frenzy which upon activation it'd set its normally crap handling to 100. Edit: Apparently the only energy aggressive frame than can roll ALH and Frenzy is Found Verdict...
Have you tried testing with speed loader slacks? Lately I have been hot swapping to speed loaders during dps phases to help out my teammates with their handling/reload speed
I wonder if I can abuse Dragons Shadow by having that one solar fragment that grants class ability energy from scorched targets, with 100 mobility, dragon’s increase to dodge regen when its buff is active and that fragment keeping that hella high handling and reload is possible, as well as on your mark
Yeah, I think so. With 1/2/3 dex mods it gives .8/.75/.7 animation multiplier, I imagine it'd be best to use one mod for each shotty's element or two mods for whatever shotgun has less handling. Then again, I have no idea if animation multiplier buffs stack
Good point, though it actually wouldn't make a difference since On Your Mark only provides 45 extra handling, and with Dragon's Shadow giving a full 100, the effect is unchanged.
I run double slug and tractor with backup plans on echtar in gotd and it does decent damage. It does suck that titan doesnt have anything to boost the swap speed tho
According to DDC Sect of Force gives +10 ready stow handling, which I'm unsure would exceed 100 like Dragon's Shadow lets you do, but worth considering at least. Best thing for titans is just to spec your shotguns into high handling IMO.
I know this is specifically a double slug video but how does slug + power weapon and a primary play out? Say if you have alh and a slug is the DPS stilld ecent because you don't need to swap every shot? Just empty mag and alh swap?
According to DDC Speedloaders give +55 handling and no bonus to ready/stow duration at max stacks, so the +100 from Dragon's Shadow and the 0.7x ready/stow is still better.

And about the handling exotic, for hunters just use star eater scales for the super then mid animation swap to dragon shadow. Welllocks stay on rain of fire the whole time and strand warlocks can stay on ophidians
This is a very well crafted video; well done. Apologies if this has been asked before, but why swap at all? Why not just dump all the ammo you have in one slug then swap to another to have it auto-reload? I’ve always wondered why that is the strat
Pre-nerf it was because you could bypass the RPM restriction and shoot way faster than intended, but nowadays it's done to raise your total damage, since it's like firing one slug but at double the damage.
