Do you find these zoom sets are better in a specific offense so 5 out or 4 out one in?

I’ve noticed a lot of teams start in 5 out with a zoom action that turns into a 4 out 1 in.

NBA, I would recommend watching the Nuggets or the Warriors, college level, Purdue runs a lot of great variations.

Why run dho zoom when you can throw and chase ball screen?

True… but im trying to understand why a 5/trail man at the top of the arch would catch into dho zoom vs just come set a ball screen on anyone (1 thru 4)

Throw and chase could kill the advantage created by the pin down. The dho allows us to keep speed However run what works for you and your team@@guse34

Is it only able to run vs man defense? Seems like zones would lock down middle.

Definitely harder to run against zone. But, you can run it anywhere, doesn’t have to be attaching middle. Whatever works for you.

At lower levels the motion will move the zone and you’ll get open looks and fouls with hard drives
