Depends of the fruit season, if peach fruit is not available, you may also substitute peaches with either strawberry, or mango fruit. I've tried both, strawberry shortcake and mango shortcake, both came out just as yummy!

Three layers of fresh peaches? that could work too. I usually add peaches proportionate to the amount of cool whip and the size of the sliced angel cake.

Did you put cinnamon or nutmeg on the peaches?

For this peach shortcake recipe, no cinnamon or nutmeg added, just freshly cut fresh peaches.
I have another peach recipe, it's called peach cobbler, I added ground cinnamon on the peaches and cooked it. The peach cobbler recipe is also in this channel.
