The a-ha channel is the official RUclips home of the Norwegian Pop trio a-ha, who achieved global stardom in 1985 when their debut single, “Take On Me” from the album ‘Hunting High And Low’ topped the charts in 36 different countries on its way to becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time, and the 5th most streamed song of the 20th century. a-ha struck chart gold again with “The Sun Always Shines On T.V.” and “Cry Wolf,” and recorded the theme to the 1987 James Bond film “The Living Daylights”. This was supposed to be the last single ever to be released by A-ha. Now in 2023, they're still here with us. Hopefully not retiring yet, once again!

Man, have these guys ever written a bad song? The answer is no. No, they haven't. Just an another amazing track from the most melodic band of our lifetimes.
well i got almost all of their albums. I must say that i rarely dislike any of their songs on their albums. For an example their album Minor Earth Major Sky, i only disliked "barely hanging on" but even this song is still listenable to me eventhough i find it a weak song but still listenable sumtimes hehe.
another example their album "memorial beach" i only disliked "between your mama and yourself" and even this one is still listenable, so yes they rarely have a song that is bad

These lyrics are some of the most profound for A-ha, including, 'acknowledge the bell you cannot un-ring' How many of us in our middle-age know (with a sense of sadness) that this line makes so much sense? I love these guys.
This song is sad in so many ways because it represents the end of an era for people of my generation who have matured through our twenties, thirties, forties and now into our fifties listening to this band's melodious and often poignant music. When we watch this video, with its flash backs to the early days of A-ha, with the three guys looking so obviously emotional as they record it, we too are transported back to our youth, to a time that is gone forever.

AMAZING! My favorite band in the whole world. Have been a fan since 1985 when I heard Take on Me on the radio. I was fascinated by them then, and am still fascinated in 2020. They are the soundtrack of my life. Have seen them twice in concert. Amazing trio.
Mine too, thier sound is very emotive, it seems to resonate deeply, they have been an obsession when I was younger, now I'm married with children and still like thier music, it almost centres me back to being me, but also I feel a sense of sadness almost unrequited love🌹

Can't stop listening to this song... It's majestic.
It is certainly up there with the other great songs, when I was young I used to write crazy letters to them about each song, I used to love those that they didn't release out of the album. Like Looking for the whales, The swing of things, so many others, scoundrel days.. Those that are too 'heavy for public consumption' in thier own words, for me they were creativity unleashed, gone wild, reached the summit. I think Paul knows how to handle Mortem's voice, let's it run, such a wide range he has, and Magne brings the rock and roll, not to mention the depth of meaning that Paul brings with the ideas behind the songs. I don't know if they realise thier own sound, I think this creative mix can happen when you there is tension and contrasting ideas, exactly why they perhaps do not see eye to eye musically, or maybe they do, what ever it is, the complexity is brilliant 💜
I can finally watch this without being sad. Thanks, a-ha, for giving us more of your music. ❤️

I remember being criticised for being an a-ha fan at school in the 1980s, because it was so much cooler to like Simple Minds or Depeche Mode (who I also liked but not as much) yet over the years A-Ha have matured like a fine wine and I find myself to be just as pleasantly surprised by their talent today as I did over 30 years ago. Man...has it been that long?

Ditto...saw them once in Shepton Mallet...sneaked around the rear of the venue with my little sister and found Morten, Mags and Pal rehearsing.....we fell silent...what a moment when Morten turned around and saw us....smiled and left us to our moment. A beautiful memory.

The cool thing of this video besides the great tune, is the fact that the director of the vid is Steve Barron, who did their first vid 'Take on me'. For that reason, I believe A-ha is so unique in dedicating this final vid the way they did. I thank the three of them (Morten, Mags & Päl) for sharing with us the best music we've ever heard. I can't believe that 10 years has already gone since that farewell song and that's great that A-ha is still going on.
Yes, their emotion is so obvious. I'm sure they must have had a a few little disagreements and spats along the way, but few and far between; otherwise this parting would not be so emotional. They were loyal, true friends in the best sense of the word, and that's why this is so hard. What a gift they have given us over the years with their beautiful music.

30 лет назад сказала бы, что влюблена без памяти! Была очарована А-ha с первого просмотра по ТВ!Сейчас скажу, что не разочарована! Чудесные интеллигентные ребята с прекрасным вкусом во всем! Оказывается, можно сохранять популярность без скандалов, наркоты и заносчивости. Вот что значит настоящий талант! Нашим "звёздам" есть чему поучиться! Кстати, моим дочкам тоже нравится эта музыка!
