I wanted to leave a bit of my experience. I am also an American who applied for the UK Fiance Visa. I decided that I wanted to keep my passport during processing. I needed to send over additional information, one of them being proof of intent to marry. My fiance and I had a hard time looking up exactly what we needed. My fiance ended up sending an email to the registrar office in the city he lived in. In his email he stated that he and I are wanting to get married and asked what is the best way to set up an appointment for our marriage notice. The Registrar Office reached back out within a few days. I then downloaded that whole exchange of the emails as a pdf and then I sent it to the decision Maker Centre. The following week I received an email stating that I was needed back at the VFS Center (where they took my finger prints at the original appointment). The email said that a decision was made; I needed to bring my passport, receipt, and a copy of that email. I was excited but nervous because I was hoping that they would tell me if I was approved. I went back this past Monday and they took my passport, receipt, and the copy of that email. I stood in the hallway and they gave me my package. Be prepared for them not saying anything. Here's some advice, if you don't hear anything, everything is going fine lol. If you do see an email respond right away. So if you receive that email as I did, that means CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE BEEN APPROVED! 😊😊😊 I DID NOT hire a lawyer during this process. We did take our time to make sure that everything was perfect because we were afraid of things going bad and them saying no. Which meant that we would have to pay for the whole thing again to give it another go. If any of you are going through this process make sure to relax. Like American Girl in UK said, they will leave you in the dark and it could be a stressful process. Take care of your mental health and overall wellbeing because it can be rough at times. Just remember that it will all be worth it to be with your forever partner 🥰🥰🥰
My partner will be applying for this visa to come and join me now that we are engaged. I just wanted to say what a great video. Very informative thank you 😁😁
Hello, thank you so much for making this video. my partner is currently applying for a fiance visa too, and I just wanted to know what evidence you submitted to prove you intended to get married? i am just confused because i can't book anything with the council until after my partner is here? i have got some emails with wedding vendors etc would that be sufficient?
Hello, thanks for this video. I was wondering, what was the date you put as your planned date to travel to the UK? And did that impact your visa decision? Was the date in your vignette the same as your planned date to travel to the uk? Thank you!
Sorry for missing this comment! Yes you'll be given a window of time to travel. They'll contact you if you haven't left in about 2-3 months after getting visa.
Thanks for your reply! I have so many questions and there's so little information about this visa out there. I would love to have a chat with you, as you've gone through the experience already and might give me a bit of guidance 🙏
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences... your video was the only video that I could find that helped me the most and confirmed my doubts.. thank you thank you so much. Hope everything goes well and quick for you and your fiancé for your marriage ceremony :)
I'm glad to hear this was helpful! I also struggled finding helpful information. Thank you! Will be making a video soon on the spouse visa now that I have that 😊
Thank you SOOOOOO much for this video! It was so helpful hearing someone's experience, and especially the thorough evidence section. Seriously, this is such a huge help. Me and my girlfriend are trying to figure this our right now (me moving out there) so I'll be referring back to this throughout the process. I do have one question, if you don't mind. At any point did you get a lawyer or legal advice for anything, or did you all just figure it out on your own?
I'm so glad to hear this was helpful! No legal advice just lots of researching and trying to find any info out there which there wasn't much for Fiance 😅 uk visa on reddit was helpful too. Best of luck!
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊Did you manage to get a provisional date from the registry marriage office? If you did how you did it and what was the documents you showed entry clearance officer to confirm your marriage date in the uk? and did you book a marriage hall and what was the cost to get marriage hall and registry office. Please reply
Hi When mention the canva slideshow Do you do separate slidshows for different categories? Like one with photos of you guys And the other for messages and calls And other for documentation? Or.... is it all in one slidshow?
Thanks for your video. It is so helpful. I have some question for that visa. When you applied visa what did you put your relationship status? We are more than 8yrs couple but Long distance Relationship. We met while I was living in UK.
Absolutely love this video and your other one, suuuuper helpful and easy to follow! However, I was just curious (and this might be a silly question), but do you still have your US citizenship rights even though you’re living in the UK? Or will you be giving up US citizenship status completely? Thanks again though for posting such a useful and reassuring video!! ☺️ And best wishes to you and your partner on this new adventure! ✨
I'm so happy to hear this was helpful and easy to follow! Nope you still will be a US citizen. The process of UK citizenship will go like this: fiance visa - spouse visa (2.5 years) - Spouse Visa renewal (another 2.5 years) then I believe you can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain and go through British citizenship process. Even when that happens, you will still have dual citizenship. You could revoke U.S. citizenship if you choose at that point but I'm not sure the full criteria of that. Best wishes to you and yours too! 💕
Hi and thank you very much for this helpful video! :) You mentioned that you were in the relationship for about 2 years but required evidence is just 6 month - 1 year? Me and my partner have started dating a year before Covid and now it has been another more than 2 years, what would you recommend please?
Just show the recent 6 months of payslips and bank statements. For relationship evidence just show screenshots of a few texts, call/video logs, a few photos together and any plane tickets
Hi ! Thank you so much for all the advice it was so helpful! I would like to apply before the end of the year but currently waiting for my partner to get new accommodation. I will also be applying outside the UK. Can I ask you to confirm how long they actually kept your passport for after doing your biometrics ??? I wonder when I should start my application as I originally wanted to spend Christmas in the UK but I wouldn't be able to do that while they're still working on a decision.. the 2023 processing time isn't clear, the uk government website says 24 weeks but many other web sources mention 12 weeks or 30 working days. Also wanted to ask, while you're downloading files on the application, can you save and come back to it another day ?Anyway thanks again! 😊
You don't get your passport back until they make a decision on your visa, then you will find out if it was approved or not if they've put the visa in the visa section of your passport. They unfortunately won't tell you via email or phone 😪 Processing time is about 3 months now outside of the UK which is better than it was at the time I made this. So I believe it's about 60 working days. Yes you can save and go back, I did that multiple times when uploading before the bio appointment. Also keep in mind they are increasing the fiance visa cost now unfortunately after 5th October I believe. I don't remember the exact price though. There's a chance you could get there in time for Christmas if you apply soon. Best of luck 💕
Hello,,I have a question,, what Will I do If my fiancé is living in the UK and is not working,,I am the one who is working and I want to live with her there permanently.
How thankful I am to have watched this! ❤ Do U have any advise on going on the route of proving the relationship of the 2 year process thing. You touched on it briefly. Any more info?
Glad it helped! The Unmarried partner visa would be part of the requirements for living together for 2 years. I think the only circumstance that would even qualify for that would be for example if a student was studying abroad in the UK and started a relationship with someone while being there and eventually living together for 2 years. There might be something else I can't think of but I'm pretty sure that's the only way to be apply for that one. If this sounds like your situation, definitely check the gov.uk website on requirements for Family Visas 🙂
hello dear, thank you so much this is very helpful. i just needed to ask when your visa is approved do you get notified or do you only get to see it in your passport or do they get to tell you when it is rejected? another question when you have applied for a visa and there is a document missing do they notify you to submit it or do they just reject it ,with no communication? thank you so much.
You will get notified that a decision has been made however they don't tell you the answer, so unfortunately you won't know until you get your passport back. I actually didn't recieve my decision made email until AFTER I got my passport, I only found out there was a decision and that it was being sent back to me since I called them. I have heard though that some people get a rejection email so not sure when that would be sent out. They will email you if a document is missing like they did for me . No problem!
Thank you very much for your video. Could you show us the template you use for the relationship evidence? Thank you. I am already working on the visa with my partner. :)
Hello American girl in UK this video has been incredibly helpful so thank you very much! I did have a question though! My fiancé and I are engaged but we have no pictures of it happening. What other evidence do you think would suffice? Ring receipt? I'm not really sure what to do for that part! Any help is greatly appreciated!
Ring receipt or wedding dress receipt would suffice perfectly! Please check out my newest video on update to family visas that may happen if you haven't heard the news.
Hi, I just had a quick question, can we use the nhs, like seeing a gp after paying nhs surcharge but before the decision has come? Applying for spouse visa within the uk? Please let me know, I would really appreciate it. Thank You
I wasn't able to see a GP until after I paid the NHS fee for the spouse visa. Here's the video on that ruclips.net/video/29_5Yg7fbb8/видео.htmlsi=FCZz8y41FVd7k_NH Hope that helps!
Hello, sorry me again 😅. When you showed proof of flights for example, can you just take screen shots of the emails/flight tickets or does it need to be in a pdf form? X
Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I just found out that my visa was approved! I had my bio appointment on 5/26/23 and the processed application email was sent on 7/7/23. The recommended shipment offered on VFS Global is now $80. I went with your advice and skipped the text messages. They are absolutely worthless. You won't find out if your visa was accepted or denied until you have your passport in your hands. There is absolutely no other way of knowing! You could have zero contact with immigration and still be denied! Hearing nothing does NOT mean your visa was approved. Also, for those of you applying from America, be aware that after you finished applying you will be told to print out a checklist. This checklist will require you to sign and date it. There is also a spot for an immigration officer. Do not ask the USA immigration officer to sign it. That is for the UK immigration officer to sign once it has been sent in. Idk why they don't clarify that on the website. I just looked at the checklist and they didn't even sign it anyways. So don't let that give you a heart attack like it did me. Also, I did upload 16 years worth of relationship evidence. No one mentioned anything or batted an eyelid. If you want to send a lot go ahead but it's unlikely they will look at all of it! You all need to listen to her when she says to take care of your mental health through all of this. This is life changing stuff. I was so anxious and nervous these past few months. I was shaking opening up my passport package. I wanted to say thanks for answering my questions and being a good support for all of us. Good luck to all of you! I guess I can be the American girl in the UK soon :)
Congratulations Gabby! 💞 I'm so happy to hear that and process so quickly. Thanks for adding the information about the checklist also. I feel like they keep adding more to make it even more confusing 😅 I was also shaking when I opened the package for my passport with Visa. It's so stressful! Just curious, what travel date did they give you? I've heard some getting it further out
@@americangirlinuk Thanks! I was actually going to ask if you got a letter in the mail with more details about where to go from here. My vignette says it's valid from 7/25/23 to 1/25/24. Will I have any other contact from anyone? How long do I have to pack and go????
@gabby8568 All I got was the decision email I think a week AFTER already having my visa 😅 I don't believe any other correspondence was sent to me. I heard from others that they will contact you if you haven't traveled to the UK around 3 months after your valid date to see what's going on. I'm glad you won't have to wait too long to travel there 💕
@@americangirlinuk I'm so glad you told me that haha! I have yet to receive my decision email LOL! I'm sure it will be sent soon then. You scared me when you said travel dates. I've already started planning dates for putting my two weeks in at work and buying my plane tickets. I thought," Oh goodness. Now I'm going to have to rearrange my plans." Thanks so much!!! :)
Hi American Girl... Your video is extremely helpful... Thank you so much! I have questions hopefully that you can help based on your experience... Would be grateful for your responses, thank you so much for your time. 😊 1. Before your arrived in the UK and during your visa application, where you required to provide any documentation showing you have not been married before? 2. When giving notice for marriage, did you give notice once in the UK? How long did it take for the visit to the registry office? Do you need to state a date on the visa application about a date when you intend to have the marriage officiated? 3. Did you provide in the supporting documents any venue bookings? 4. Did you provide venue bookings details to UK registry office? 5. I want to have the marriage performed at the registry office, do you know if this is acceptable? All the best. A. I.
If you have been married before, then you have to show documents of divorce. You can mention in your cover letter when you'd both like to get married or if you do have a date booked then show receipt of booking/venue. I made a video about giving notice on my channel you can check out, yes it's done within the UK once you've moved in 🙂 We also got married at the registry office so this is no problem at all. You don't have to have a large wedding or venue. Glad to hear this helped, no problem!
@@americangirlinuk thank you so much for your reply... I've not been married before so I did wonder if we both have to obtain any legal document to prove we haven't been married before. We're not looking for big wedding, just the registry wedding will be so will mention this on the supporting statement. Some of the videos on YT from immigration solicitors suggest that you need show you have booked a license venue as evidence? Just the non refundable deposit alone is not worth it if you don't know when your visa will be accepted. I've viewed your video numerous times... It has been extremely helpful.
Hi dear, thanks for this helpful video❤. I have some qsts please, can my fiancé get the marriage appointment from the home office by himself, or should I be there with him to get it? And how long does it take to get the appointment? Thanks in advance
Do you mean the biometrics or do you mean the marriage notice appointment? Biometrics is in your own country (or his if he's applying) Marriage notice appointment you both go together in the UK. Hope that helps 😊
@@americangirlinuk thanks dear for your reply, yes I meant the marriage notice appointment. I have another qst please, can I get back to my country after we get the marriage appointment from the registry office and travel again to the Uk 7 days before the marriage appointment? I think the fiancé visa is multiple!?
Hi there, my partner is applying for the fiancé visitor visa for the uk from the US she resides in Florida but right now is staying with her brother in Fresno. Her residency is Florida can she do her biometrics in Fresno or does she have to do biometrics in or near Florida? Any advice is greatly appreciated
Hello❤ I will also be applying for the Fiance visa. We already have a date set for October 2024. We have been paying for the venue and the registrar and all that. We are so excited but I have such panic attacks when thinking of applying. Do you know if I can come back to to states after we get married and apply for the spouse visa? Will the home office take my passport again or do I have to quit my job and basically move as soon as I arrive to get married?❤❤❤
You are allowed to visit the states yes after getting approved for the fiance visa and moving there to the uk. Are you applying for the right visa though? It sounds like you want to remain working in the states? The fiance visa is for anyone who is moving permanently to join their partner in the UK and no work is allowed on this visa until after you get married and get the spouse visa. Spouse visa you'll then apply for within the UK but they wont take your passport again. Sorry if any confusion and I know how stressful it can be on your mental health 💞 I'm going to have a spouse visa video uploaded soon once I finish editing it. 😊
@@americangirlinuk oh no I am applying for the right one. I will be living in the UK with my fiancé. I might have asked in a weird way 😌. I just want to be able to fly back to the states after the wedding and while waiting for the spouse visa so that I can pack my stuff in boxes and ship them out
@Nattie Rose I think since you'll be on the fiance visa and they won't need your passport for the spouse visa then I don't see why you shouldn't be allowed to travel. 🤔 But you might be better off traveling after you get the spouse visa within the uk. Maybe check the reddit page ukvisa for an answer just in case!
Thank you for doing this ! You’re guide has been so helpful 💕 We are thinking of hiring a solicitor with the application. I wanted to ask if you included savings or your fiancés savings in the application ? He’s earning £18,600 per year. Sadly I’m unable to work as I have a health condition. But if he includes saving details ‘ would this help with the case ? Also I we only met once is that enough? Many thanks hugs 🤗
I think he would need to meet that amount of 18,600 after taxes as well to qualify but definitely look into that more as there is that savings option but I believe it's a pretty big amount he'll need. A solicitor may be a good idea for this even though it would be costly. Check the Gov.uk family visa page for more information but as we know it doesn't go into much detail. I recommend going on reddit under ukvisas to also see what others have shared about this financial requirement before you hire the solicitor. As long as you have met once that will be enough 😊 (me and my now husband met once when we went through this process) I hope this helps and best of luck to the both of you 💕
They didn't ask me much actually from what I can remember. They asked why I was here and I told them I'm on a fiance visa, so he checked and that was it!
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊What did you write in your email to the marriage registry office for a provisional registry marriage booking what response did they give you. Please reply 🙏🙏🙏🙏 because I'm going to apply next month GOD willing
Thank you for this! My American fiancé and I are about to apply and so concerned we may miss something as we are not having solicitor help! Did you also need proof of intention to marry? For example a provisional wedding date or enquiries about wedding planning etc?
Not required but I would recommend at least a couple photos of your engagement and if you do have something booked or wedding dress receipt, include that too. I mentioned in my cover letter what our intended wedding date would be so you can also say that in there. Have your fiance take their time and give themselves a full day to apply 🙂 depending on when they get a bio appointment after applying, they'll usually have some time in between that appointment to get all the evidence uploaded unless they're doing in at a visa center.
@@americangirlinuk Thanks so much, will include those for sure. I know you said you used Canva (also helpful and I have joined up!) did you lay your photo and call log proof in a photo type collage? Is it ok to submit this way or more structured in a document with text included to explain?
@MissKimisha Canva was very helpful! I would keep it simple, photos of us and text and call/video log screenshots were like a collage of 2 maybe 3 per page so it's not hard to read the text. (I over submitted and sent in about 2 years worth of call logs and texts since I misunderstood the requirements so don't over do it like me 😅) Keep it short and sweet, file size will be restricted anyways with the self upload. Hope this helps you and hope you'll be together soon! It's the biggest relief after its all done 💕
We just submitted and after seeing ur video i am anxious as you told about letters and u need to be engaged means we are enaged but we don have any photos of it coz it was so random place when we met but there are some mention of marraiges in our chat history and the statement of facts which we gave them in visa application will it be fine or not
If you haven't had your bio appointment yet and you did the self upload, then there's still time to submit proof of engagement. This can be photo of you both, engagement ring receipt, wedding plans, even wedding dress receipt if she got one. Supporting letter(s) from family and friends is also helpful. The most important thing aside from the financial information is proof of engagement. If you mention in your text messages about engagement it could help. I'm not a solicitor though so hard to say if what you sent will be enough to prove.
No we appointment the lawyer from london we gave him our photographs like just where two of us are together! And he said its fine! And as statement we said we gonna ger married and ! As intention to get married we gave them merton regitraion office mail where they said it can be only possible once i am in uk for 8 days then after that we can register the marriage!!! Will it be fine!! I already gave my biometric on 12th on feb
Hello. I’ve got a letter from my work stating I work there and everything. But she’s unable to write my annual earnings as I don’t have a salary, it’s an hourly rate. She’s written how much I get paid an hour and my contract hours a week. Will this go against me as there’s not a annual amount written? She says she cannot add this figure and the visa people should work it out themselves. I have bank statements and wages to back up my earnings also. I’m now worried about this
This is completely fine, as long as they have shown your hourly pay. This was the same for my now husband as he was paid an hourly rate. As long as you have the letter, bank statements, and wage slips 😊
Is there a templrate for the family and friends evidence of relationship? I read they can write a letter for us to add in the application. Thanks a lot
I didn't use a template, I just made sure they stated their name and relation to us and the date. Then gave a short character reference to our relationship 😊 I had them do this all by email and then just screenshot them
did you use vfs global for the biometric appointment? I have troubles right now applying for the biometric appointment without paying a hefty price. thank you!
I think it was, but it was just the only immigration place in my city near me so I didn't have much choice. Try to check appointments for further out to see if they cost less
i live by premium only and the prices are astronomical! it sucks that vfs global doesn't provide an actual human to ask for help. if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for vfs global?
@Patricia McLaren I did the free self upload service which is an option after the application so I didn't pay for the in person application service. I can't remember what my biometric appointment cost was or if it was free in the states. In the UK when I did my spouse visa biometric appointment I was able to go for free on a Sunday morning but all other regular work days had different prices ranging £20-£50 for some reason.
Hey. Sorry more questions 🤣 for the proof of address, was your fiancé able to put your name on the rental or did he just get proof that the house was suitable for you? I live in a council house, which is under my mums name, but also states that I am living there. They have said they can’t write my fiancé is living there at the moment because he isn’t in England right now, but they can write that the house isn’t over cramped and is suitable. Will this be fine or will this be a problem?
Yes that's correct, your fiance can't be put on it until they are approved to live there with the visa. It needs to be a letter as mentioned that states the address, number of residents, and number of rooms to show it wouldn't be overcrowded. Also a supporting letter that your mum is in support of your fiance living there if your mum is the one on the lease. Hope that helps 🙂
Hi American Girl in UK... During the visa application, did you provide Bank Statements from your part (USA), some videos suggested so but I don't see the logic if your fiance the sponsor is required to show income including the bank statements. Many thanks again A.I. 😊
No I didn't, maybe they were using the savings route although I'm not sure. The fiance living in the UK has to provide the bank statements and payslips since they'll be supporting you since you the applicant won't be able to work while on the fiance visa. Hope that helps 🙂
How formal do the letters from friends and family have to be? Do they need to state their full name, address and number or just their name? Can it be typed or does it need to be written. Thanks so much for all this info!
Just straight and to the point letters, nothing too long. If its hand written, it will need to be scanned and saved as a pdf for the self upload. I had my family do emails as that was easier to make pictures from 🙂 They just said their name and relation to me with email address showing. They can include their number if they'd like, but no need for address. No problem!
And what if we just gave photos of urs and but no picture where we have ring or anything just together photos hotel booking where we stayed and flight ticket for both of us where we met.and out chat no letter from anyone just out statement of facr like why this relationship is important and and attached one mail where we tried too book marraife avenue and they replied partner have to be in uk for 8 days will it be enough
Found this video really helpful. Will be applying for fiance visa soon to get my American fiance to join me here in UK. Our situation is very similar to yours. We are going to use an immigration solicitor to cut out the stress of it all and we're currently in process of choosing best deal. One solicitor's are offering a deal to do both fiance and spouse visa for us. I was wondering how you got on with your solicitor for spouse visa? Would you recommend full help with both or would more basic help from them for part 2(spouse visa) be adequate? Is most of the evidence you need to submit for spouse visa not the same evidence you would've used in fiance visa?
Thats great you'll be able to use a solicitor! It sounds like fiance visas are also being processed much faster now, not as long as mine was with that time frame. I don't think it's necessary at all to hire a solicitor for spouse visa, once you've done the fiance visa it's very straight forward for all parties. I put at the top of my cover letter for spouse visa application that I'm switching from fiance visa to spouse visa so they could see it right away. They mostly just want to see the marriage certificate for that and I even included a couple wedding photos. I'll be making a vide soon on that. Best of luck to you both!
@@americangirlinuk Thanks for the advice, feel more prepared now for what to expect . So good to get some tips from someone who has already been through both these visa applications. Much appreciated 😀
Once you received your passport and visa back were you free to travel to UK from that point? My fiancé had her bio appointment 4 weeks ago, we’re told current processing time is 12 weeks. Just checking if we’re good to go once visa is approved and returned or if we then have a further wait until travel over will be permitted? Like a future date when fiancé visa becomes active from?
@unluckyluciano1096 they will put the date of when you can travel on the visa vignette which is in the back of the passport. The date will be based around when you said you'd like to be married. My travel start date was 2 weeks after receiving it. 😊
Hi American girl I need your help, dose my fiance over seas have to inform the local authorities in her country that she is getting married to a u.k citizen? Thank you
Depending where she lives she will have to let them know yes, you can do this before giving marriage notice in the UK. United States didn't require this. Hope that helps 🙂
Did you fly over to the UK and then apply for the Fiance VISA? Getting ready to leave the US at the end of the year. I don't think you mentioned that in your video. Thanks :-)
No you have to apply within your own country but you are allowed to visit the UK if you opt to keep passport for an Additional fee. You'll have to send them it once they need to make a decision though. I'd recommend applying soon if you're moving the end of 2023. I believe priority service may be coming back too. 🙂
@@americangirlinuk I am going to London in November. Then returning home, we are to schedule something earlier. So that we have a history started. I already added the call logs and text messages in Canva. The latest I will stay in the US is until March 2024, depending on how long it’s takes to process the paperwork. Thanks again for this tips, cause I had no clue. 😊
May I ask that you need to go to the UKVI head office to collect your visa and passport when you get it or they sent you back related to your address please?
You choose either of those options when you apply 🙂 you can also choose to keep your passport but then you would need to send to them once they need to make a decision
You have to prove you're engaged in order to apply. My now husband and I were long distance for a while until we finally met in person and then we got engaged. Then after applied 😊
I'm slowly getting through the fiance visa application. I noticed it makes you checkmark a box that says I will provide documents showing evidence that I lived with my partner for two years. This doesn't apply to the long distance relationships. How did you get around that or did you just go ahead and check the box and continue? Thanks!
Oh that's weird, I don't remember that being in mine, but I think they've made some changes to the applications as it also had something like that in my spouse visa application I did recently. I think it's because they group it all in one rather than separating it more and just assumes everyone has already lived together. I just put in my cover letter something like that "I will provide evidence of living together and paying utilities once on the flm marriage visa." Also clearly state in your cover letter you are applying for Fiance Visa. I know it's so confusing but I hope this helps!
@@americangirlinuk Thanks! I get what you mean. That's how my fiance interpreted it as well. It does make it confusing having different visas grouped together in one application lol! Your videos are very helpful. I have a notepad I'm writing everything on while I watch your videos. It has made my life so much easier! Thanks again!
Sorry may i ask your im in relation with my uk fiance for over 4 years now we had our engagement in my country in 2020 so we planing start our visa process next month and we have an age gap do you think its a problem with that
Me and my now husband are also in a pretty big age gap and I was also worried they would judge that, but it didn't seem to effect us getting approved 🙂
I unfortunately did not receive an approval email until after I got my passport, which is crazy! I contacted UKVI through phone and they told me a decision was made (they aren't allowed to say if it was approved or not) and then it took 13 working days for me to finally get it. As I explained in this video, I can't emphasise enough to check your visa tracking number. I started checking my label a few times a day once they told me it was a decision was made. I woke up one morning to check on the 13th day and my label said it was on the way! 🙂 hope that helps and best of luck to you 🙏
hi american girl i just want to ask cause my fiance and i are planning fiance visa but we we are in one year relatioship only is it possible to apply...thank you very much
Hmm good question, I paid for it myself so I'm not sure but I think there is an option about applying on behalf of the applicant. I'd look more into this or check UKvisa group on reddit
6 long months 😪 my bio was March 30th and recieved my visa in the post by I think October 19th. I heard they are moving along faster now with processing and there should now be an option they send to you in email to pay extra for priority service if I'm not mistaken. You used to be able to pay for priority when applying but they are still catching up from back log I believe. Best of luck to you 💕
Hey. I am earning above £18,600 a year, but with an hourly rate, not a salary, is this still okay to apply with 6 months wage slips and bank statements or would I need to earn £18,600 first to prove I reach that amount yearly? Also, my partner is required to take the English language test, do you know if this can be taken multiple times if failed?
I'm unfortunately not sure how that works for the English Language Test 😕 and as long as what you make hourly would equate to that total cost per year then you will be ok. Just make sure to also include letter from your employer stating your position, how much you make hourly, and how much that totals for the year. Backed by proof of wage slips and bank statements 🙂
I’m applying for the uk fiancé visa right now and it’s asking for proof that my fiancé and I are unmarried partners. I wanted to ask what you used to prove that. Please and thank you ♥️
Thats asking because unfortunately the application doesn't differentiate between fiance, spouse, and unmarried partners. Just make it clear in your cover letter you're applying for fiance visa and wish to live and get married in the UK. Best of luck 💕
@@americangirlinuk That was my guess. I did mention our intention to get married in my letter. I also submitted a marriage ceremony booking confirmation. Thank you for the advice!
@@americangirlinuk Girl! I just realized that I still have the checklist that I was required to bring. It states and asks me to sign it at the appointment but they never asked for it and I totally forgot. did you have to submit that signed checklist?
@Liya it says to sign it? I don't remember my checklist having a signature area for the bio appointment. I don't remember them taking it either, I think they just scanned the confirmation booking qr code. If you're on instagram can you send me a photo of what it looks like? @adrianathecapricorn
@@liya1509 May I ask how you were able to book a marriage ceremony before getting your fiance visa? I enquired about this and was told I needed a single status certificate, birth certificate, and my fiance visa before I could do so.
It probably won't be until March or 120 working days. Check your tracking number on the mail label as this is most reliable than the email. Did you get the email that they recieved it and is waiting a decision? If not I would contact them at their phone number to make sure they have it.
There's no NHS fee for Fiance Visa. You won't have medical until you apply for the Spouse Visa which you will then pay for the NHS fee. 🙂 Try to get any medications in bulk before your move with the fiance visa
You have to be in a relationship and engaged with someone in the UK to apply for Fiance Visa. Then the Spouse visa comes after you are married in the UK.

The United States doesn't require an interview, I don't believe most countries do them anymore since covid but they may ask for a phone interview which they did for us which was just questions about each other. All the evidence was uploaded in the self upload area as pdfs or jpegs which comes up after you pay for the application.

I am a dual national (UK and Pakistani). I am a British Citizen (by descent), currently residing in Pakistan. My spouse is a Pakistani national. Is it possible that we BOTH can go TOGETHER to UK instead of spouse going after 6 months (on spouse visa) of my arrival in UK? I currently hold a UK job offer which will start in March 2023. Also, I am a permanent resident of Pakistan and I have not lived in UK as I am a British Citizen by descent. Is there any chance that this is possible? Please guide.
I think she may be able to apply on ILR as a partner dependent on your work visa as long as you can prove marriage and having lived together, but I think you would have needed to be in the UK. The information is a bit confusing but she may need to just do the spouse visa. Priority service I believe is coming back as well so she could get it faster. @@americangirlinukso you mean it’s possible for us to apply for a Uk fiancé visa right after we meet once? And we’ve only been dating for like 8 months now
Not sure what you're implying? I didn't get any extra privileges other than not having to do the English Language test. I waited 7 months, and we even had to do a phone interview which is very rare I heard.

@Victorinoff Hernandez they don't state to use pictures but you definitely should show a couple of you after getting engaged or even ring receipt 🙂 As for address, include in your cover letter that you will be moving in with parents after visa approval and have parents you'll be living with write a supporting letter saying you both will be living with them, the address, and number of bedrooms and family members in the home (to show you'll both have your own room and that it won't be overcrowded) Check the UK Visas reddit page for more advice on this as there's tons of info on there from others asking similar questions.

FIANCE & SPOUSE VISA INCOME REQUIREMENT CHANGES TO £29,000 BY APRIL 11TH 2024
I DID NOT hire a lawyer during this process.
Thank you for sharing your experience and congratulations! 💕

Hello, thanks for this video. I was wondering, what was the date you put as your planned date to travel to the UK? And did that impact your visa decision? Was the date in your vignette the same as your planned date to travel to the uk? Thank you!
When can you enter the UK after getting a decision?
Thank you for sharing!
Is there a set time you have to travel to the UK after getting your visa confirmed?
Sorry for missing this comment! Yes you'll be given a window of time to travel. They'll contact you if you haven't left in about 2-3 months after getting visa.

Thanks for your video. It is so helpful. I have some question for that visa. When you applied visa what did you put your relationship status?
We are more than 8yrs couple but Long distance Relationship. We met while I was living in UK.
Thank you my friend 🙏💯👍
For the fiance visa do you need to have already lived together or have joint accounts or anything like that?

Do U have any advise on going on the route of proving the relationship of the 2 year process thing.

You will get notified that a decision has been made however they don't tell you the answer, so unfortunately you won't know until you get your passport back. I actually didn't recieve my decision made email until AFTER I got my passport, I only found out there was a decision and that it was being sent back to me since I called them. Hi American Girl... Your video is extremely helpful... Thank you so much!
I have questions hopefully that you can help based on your experience... Would be grateful for your responses, thank you so much for your time. 😊
I made a video about giving notice on my channel you can check out, yes it's done within the UK once you've moved in 🙂
We also got married at the registry office so this is no problem at all. You don't have to have a large wedding or venue.

As long as you have met once that will be enough 😊 (me and my now husband met once when we went through this process) I hope this helps and best of luck to the both of you 💕
What kind of questions did immigration ask you when you came with a fiancé visa?
@12thfailtrader97 since you have a lawyer then I would go with their advice 🙂
Hello. I’ve got a letter from my work stating I work there and everything. But she’s unable to write my annual earnings as I don’t have a salary, it’s an hourly rate. She’s written how much I get paid an hour and my contract hours a week. Will this go against me as there’s not a annual amount written?

@@americangirlinuk thank you. it still costs the same. cheers!
i live by premium only and the prices are astronomical! it sucks that vfs global doesn't provide an actual human to ask for help. if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for vfs global?
Hello American Girl in UK!
Have you been asked to show a return ticket at the airport please? 😊
Or you just used a one-way ticket only?
When I moved with the fiance visa it was a one way ticket
Hi @americangirlinuk
Did you show on your fiance visa application a one way flight ticket?
Many thanks
Hi American Girl in UK...
During the visa application, did you provide Bank Statements from your part (USA), some videos suggested so but I don't see the logic if your fiance the sponsor is required to show income including the bank statements.
Many thanks again
@Unlucky Luciano also should add of course they will want to still see financial proof so the 6 months payslips and 6 months bank statements.
@americangirlinuk thank you may god bless you
Did you fly over to the UK and then apply for the Fiance VISA? Getting ready to leave the US at the end of the year. I don't think you mentioned that in your video. Thanks :-)
No you have to apply within your own country but you are allowed to visit the UK if you opt to keep passport for an Additional fee. You'll have to send them it once they need to make a decision though. I'd recommend applying soon if you're moving the end of 2023. I believe priority service may be coming back too. 🙂
@@americangirlinuk Thank you so much 👍😊
@@tammyjohnson8873 Make sure you meet at least once as per the requirements. Best of luck and no problem!
@Tammy Johnson so exciting! Is it your first time meeting in London? It's a lot of work and waiting, but worth it ❤️
May I ask that you need to go to the UKVI head office to collect your visa and passport when you get it or they sent you back related to your address please?
You choose either of those options when you apply 🙂 you can also choose to keep your passport but then you would need to send to them once they need to make a decision
Did you have to pay for a Healthcare surchargeas part of your application?
No, that isn't until you apply for the spouse visa once you're married. 🙂 you'll be without medical and health coverage while on fiance visa.
Hi, what if we are not yet engaged as she lives far away from me, but we have met in person?
You have to prove you're engaged in order to apply. My now husband and I were long distance for a while until we finally met in person and then we got engaged. Then after applied 😊
@americangirlinuk I see, as I said we met in person but not yet engaged, I can't find this requirement on gov uk in order to apply for Fiance visa

Daca lovely fane, fish all processed?😮 20:50 20:55 .
Hello unfortunately my visa rejected 😭😭😭😭
I'm so sorry! Did they tell you why?
omg why? what happened later?
Hello again, sorry to ask , Do you know any consultant recommended for the fiance visa to the UK?
I don't know any one personally sorry!
@@gabby8568 so glad to hear it's been helpful 🥰 no problem!
19 years age gap (I and my fiancé)
Could that affect my visa application please?
@U. F. Bénie not at all, as long as your prove you're in a genuine relationship 😊
How long did it take from your approval email to you actually getting the visa, the timeframe ? And is there anyway to know how long will it take
I unfortunately did not receive an approval email until after I got my passport, which is crazy! 🙂 hope that helps and best of luck to you 🙏
hi american girl i just want to ask cause my fiance and i are planning fiance visa but we we are in one year relatioship only is it possible to apply...thank you very much
Yes as long as you can prove you're in a genuine relationship and are engaged 😊
@@americangirlinuk thank you so much for the reply
Hey there, quick question - can the sponsor pay for the fiance visa on behalf of the applicant or does the applicant have to pay themselves?
Hmm good question, I paid for it myself so I'm not sure but I think there is an option about applying on behalf of the applicant. I'd look more into this or check UKvisa group on reddit
The sponsor can pay for the fiance's visa 100%
How long did it take you to know you got approved from the time you did your biometrics?
I'm currently waiting on a decision for my fiance visa.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@americangirlinuk okay thankyou so much! 💕

Can you apply while you're the UK?
I applied for my finance Visa in September but i don't rcv any approval email yet
It probably won't be until March or 120 working days. Check your tracking number on the mail label as this is most reliable than the email. Did you get the email that they recieved it and is waiting a decision? If not I would contact them at their phone number to make sure they have it.
How much is the NHS fee for fiancé visa?
There's no NHS fee for Fiance Visa. You won't have medical until you apply for the Spouse Visa which you will then pay for the NHS fee. 🙂 Try to get any medications in bulk before your move with the fiance visa
Daca lovely are you peace send some things words?❤
hi, the video is very good. I want to go to England with a fiancé visa and get married there. Can I apply for a spouse visa after marriage?
You have to be in a relationship and engaged with someone in the UK to apply for Fiance Visa. Then the Spouse visa comes after you are married in the UK.

How are you Visa information for uk
Is there an interview for UK fiance visa? And how did you submit the requirements?
The United States doesn't require an interview, I don't believe most countries do them anymore since covid but they may ask for a phone interview which they did for us which was just questions about each other. All the evidence was uploaded in the self upload area as pdfs or jpegs which comes up after you pay for the application.
@@americangirlinuk and how did you prove your relationship is genuine? Did you provide some proof like photos together, screenshots of conversation and others? And did you show it the UK Embassy?
@Camila Divina Yes I mention all that in this video if you go to the relationship proof timestamp 😊 we didn't need to contact the UK embassy.
I'd recommend reading through Gov.uk requirements. www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-family/partner-dependant-work-visa
Did you get a BRP when you received the fiance visa? 😊
No BRP for Fiance Visa, I recieved a BRP after Spouse Visa
Is there a required length of relationship prior to applying UK fiance visa?
Nope, I thought there was but there isn't. As long as they see its a genuine relationship with intent to get married in the UK and remain there.
