With Ping Blueprint being the new kid on the block, it has a lot to prove in the traditional blade category and nothing can push it more than the Mizuno JPX919. With Mizuno Golf being one of the industry leaders in this category for many years, Ping’s first attempt has been very well received due to its attractive aesthetics and positive overall performance.

2 great clubs, no difference in performance but mizuno £120 per club, Ping £190 per club. I'll take the Mizuno.
Well done! Love the format. Only thing I could suggest would be an outside comparison hitting shots. (Draws, fades, high, low). Nice to see someone in this line of work with a sense of humor!
Sounds a great idea, Lyle. Just struggle to get the numbers at the moment.
One thing no one seems to mention is that the Ping face will be much more durable over time than any of the 1025 steel clubs. My 718MBs after just a few rounds and practice sessions are beat up pretty good. The Pings so far still look nearly new. The Pings feel like sledge hammers at impact and better than the 718MBs.
Great Video Al!
The new format is off to a great start...congrats!
REALLY looking for the Wilson T2T (trademarked by myself but feel free to use it :) ).....make it happen!
Instant like. Other channels are getting away from comparison videos. Keep em coming!!!
Thanks Bobby! Well I've just created a dedicated category for comparisons :)
I hope the iron sound comparrison is recorded outside. The sound can vary alot from inside a studio to outside on a golfcourse, especially with drivers.
Love the videos as always
It is recorded outside but we're trying to improve it. Especially after hearing it, we will keep working on it
Al your narrative after every shot is hilarious! Very entertaining comparison but I'll take the Mizuno thank you.
So I didn’t know about the blueprint. Happened to see a demo yesterday and hit the 4 and the 7. I had to ask if they were considered blades because they did not feel harsh at all. I have recently ordered jpx921 tours and really had to talk myself out of cancelling the order! They both feel great. Jpx is gonna be more forgiving overall I think.
The tungsten weight is adjustable in that PING change it depending on what the desired swing weight is for the customer. So in that sense it has to be accessible.
Hi Daniel, I did mean adjustability as in, for a golfer at home. It's adjustable for the manufacturers, in that sense.
which one do you want? no, which one do you want? you choose! no, you choose! well, what do the numbers say? hmmmmmmm I like soft. soooo. PING WINS!!!!! YEAH!! GREAT VIDEO! WOOO WOOOOO!!!!!
Great video.. on the speakers, the sound is very similar but sure it is different in person. Interesting to see the same numbers for distance and spin but with same loft, most would expect that.
I am not worthy enough to play the Blueprint but I have tested the 919 Tour 7i. I know I couldn't play the 919 Tour in a 5i - so small that I would worry about missing the ball completely, but the 7i was an absolute dream to hit. So soft, so amazing
Blueprint for looks
Possibly 910 Tour for feel
But I am yet to test the blueprint.
Demo day is tomorrow though, this could get expensive
Love the review, informative and engaging as always. For me if Ping ‘hid’ that weight screw and made the heads perfect so to speak I would certainly see at a fitting if they would suit me. The Mizuno look good, but personal preference the smoother look of the back of the Ping wins. (But as another comment said the money difference is going to be their problem !)
Good review that mate. Would quite like to see you hit the 3 iron and wedge in both too though, just for the ease of the strike and the genuine feel on actual feel shots. Perhaps next time? 😉
Great video, how about Callaway Apex pro 19? Would love them thrown in the mix, would like to see how easy you can shape your shots with the irons ? And a bit of turf interaction with the clubs
Top man
Cheers mate
Thanks, John! Yeah, I hope to get round to the Apex :)
what shafts were in the irons ? just interested! great Video
Alex, just goes to prove that these companies are all very good at what they produce performance wise and it really does come down to what we as the consumer like from a look, sound and feel view point. Oh and cost.
Nail on the head, Rob
I could run away and cry! That was awesome. I’m liking how Ping came out with a two iron. Would you be able to review that?
Information was great...enjoyed this very much.
Thanks so much, Jim
Another great review thank you !!!!
Nice format! Looking forward to more Toe 2 Toe. When is that Garmin G80 review coming?
Where are the Ping Blueprints manufactured?
Ide like to know how the i blade feels in comparison to the blueprint and is it more forgiving please Al !
The feel aspect, I play the Wilson V6 irons and it is like the JPX, when I hit the center its like a hot stick of butter, when I miss hit the center, it feels like I just hit a rock. I prefer that.
Great review,
Can you please compare the Mizuno JPX919 tour against the Titleist T100
The Blueprints are short - in shaft length. The Mizuno standard on the JPX is longer. Did you notice nearly 1/2" length difference? Obviously you can order what you want. PING says they shortened the standard length for the Blueprint for "control". Translation - these are small-headed. :)
Great video, I was like to see more of these videos. It would be cool if you could do these reviews in a bracket format to see what the overall winner would be. If you're just going to test two products, please, if you could test a wedge, and long iron out of the set as well.
Thats a great point about the weight on the blueprint irons; if the weight isn't adjustable we don't need to see it..
I slowed up your swing Al cause I’m creepy like that. Looked spot on to me. When I start thinning irons it’s usually caused by being a bit flicky at impact.
Haha! You can slow my swing down as much as you like, mate. Just don't show it me
Awesome job keep the great work 👍
The screw is removable and functional. When someone orders a different swing weight, they use the different weight toe screws and heel weights to get swing weight correct while keeping COG in middle of iron. Everyone else just uses heel weights which moves the COG towards heel.
What I mean is that it isn't required to be removed from the consumer! :)
I get it but if it’s not removable and they can’t change it. So it’s really the first blade iron that can have a center COG for the public on custom fits. I think that’s pretty cool. I haven’t gotten to hit them yet though
T2T. Like! Love the Undertaker light show. Do you have access to Miura Irons at all?
Love it Al, keep grinding mate
Great video Alex
I couldn't pick between the two clubs only on looks cause I couldn't afford to buy them to play them 😂😂Great vid Alex, Cheers
Can you do review of the i500 please I would love to see that and get your take on them
LEGO, Star Wars and an Undertaker reference in the one vid, awesome 😂
Nice AL....now bring on the P-TW! (Assuming you can get them down from the presentation glass case in your living room)👍👍😃
Haha! Need to get it past the lasers and guard dogs first
@@alexetchesgolf cue Mission Impossible theme and you dangling from ropes !
Great video Al. Any thoughts of taking Toe 2 Toe on course where golf is actually played? That may give you different results.
Thanks so much mate. Course could happen but we are unable to get the numbers out there at the moment. Waiting on a GC Quad ;)
Perhaps comparing a long iron out of each set to? Would that make a difference?
As in like you said 919 have slight more offset than the blue print? Might be something to consider
@@dalerichardson8247 Correct. I could do the whole sets but it triples the production time and we already struggle with the number of uploads. I'll see what I can do
Like the JPX 910 Tour sound and feel better. And it has better feedback on off-center hits.
Totally agree with on the screw
Yeah, not a fan of that
T2T with the Srixon Z- Forged, maybe? Excellent video!
I'm a Mizzy fan, but the little extra forgiveness with the PIng makes it a winner with me....
What about price? Mizuno JPX 919 Tour are $500 to $700 cheaper that Ping Blueprints. That cam make up a lot people still on the fence.
But which one would you play (practice, tournaments, social) for the next year? My money would be on you choosing the Ping.
nong mar it would have to be Mizuno!
Nice one big guy! I play Mizuno so I’m biased. Good job Ping. Ok Al, which sounds better: 1 Metallica or 2 Iron Maiden?
Haha Thanks, John. Never really been a big Iron Maiden fan so Metallica everyday! haha
What shafts were in the two of these?? The same one?
Correct! exact same shaft
👍 first vid I've seen Al and a liked it good on ya A👌⛳️⛳️⛳️
did you ever do an m6 rocket 3w review?
Not the M6 but did the M5
Well you did the wrong one then
How about cf16 vs cf19
How do you beat the Mizuno? Great irons. Price is right too. The question is how does Mizuno make it better for next year? lol
Love your vids man would love to play a round with you keep it up and good luck
Alex this was a awesome review..👏👏👏👏.. More toe to toe test please. Maybe a Blueprint vs MP 18 blade... Grear job Alex , best on you tube.. 🏆🏆🏆👏👏🍻🍻
Beautiful swing crazy distance! Are you 6ft 4? Just trying to figure out how you get a 34 degree 7 iron swinging at 100mph and traveling 200yrds lol great video btw
I do this at golf box but in reality, this distance drops to like 155-160m and not 175-180 that the golfbox trackman picks up. I think they have it set to go further to increase sales
@@wazzagoog1337 seriously?
@@stephenblack9843 Yeah, legitmately, I500's though so not traditional lofts
For the ping to match the 919 tour I'm impressed but I would still pick mizuno 👍.
Why did you refer to the JPX919 Tour as a "knife" lol?? It's a freaking cavity back! The Blueprint is WAY smaller and an actual knife!
What's the price difference.
Not sure 100% but I know the Blueprint is much more expensive
Another funny vlog. Funny dude
James Brewster thanks mate :)
shot 1?
Have to agree with the screw in the toe on the ping just looks silly. Was hoping these were going to replace my s55 irons but not now , that screw just looks silly. I'll stick with the s55s for another year.
It's an interesting one. I know people that like the visible tech but not for me
Na not me, not in this style of a club.
It's the difference between me purchasing this club and not.
Ps keep up the great work, love your videos 👍👍👍
Another good one
Thanks mate
Will look forward to other toe 2 toes. Drivers, hybrids, wedges etc.
Thanks, Anthony
Niiiiiice! Shot 2 sounds more crisp to me though...
NICE
Mizuno all the way
Shot number 2.
NICE one
The way you speak down about your swing and ability id expect the ball to end up in those tree's either left or right but nope, straight followed by straight 😂 talented player you are 👍
Thanks so much, Steven.
less offset one for me. my misses are going left. I even preferred 0 offset
I'm with you mate
I prefer feedback from my clubs . I want to feel my miss hits. So I had chosen the 919 Tour.
BTW something that would be awesome is make an actual strawpoll for sound, and looks, and then reveal the winner in the next episode.
Sounds like a BRILL idea
"The tension you could cut with a JPX 919 Tour". Lmfaoo. Even though the PING Blueprint is sharper.
Great production quality! Maybe do an on-course comparison also?
Thanks very much, Victor. We are putting a few hours into it and hope to keep improving
def, number 2 sounds much more crispy!
I agree
agree, BP sound #1. 919 sound #2
Oh, I prefer the 919 haha!
Good comparison. I’ve hit both of these clubs on Robbo’s site, could hit the Blueprint but not the Tour! Argh
both great irons. well done.keeping with the same line, how about an i500 v. 919forged. power iron toe to toe!keep the great vids coming. hilarious and informative.
I’ve hit both.. for me, the i500 was 10-15 yards longer but felt clunky, especially in the longer irons.
I prefer soft as butter and a muted soft sound. I played the Lee Trevino blades with GOLF VLOGS UK and they were so soft I could have married them. I can't stand rock hard irons.
So do I, Simon. Don't think a firm feel suits a muscle back
Hmmm I’m disappointed you didn’t go up against the T Rex! Great video
Haha! Brilliant
It's not called toe to toe because you hit them out the toe is it 😂
#nothingfeelslikeamizuno is not just a saying but a way of life to some of us 👍
My choice is #2.
You should test the Ping vs The Mp18 that is a real blade
I wanted to but the JPX919 is more recent
I got a combo 919 tour 5 /6/7 and mp18 8/9/pw and I don’t consider the 919 blades but sorta of mb
They sound similar
Tried to get the audio as good as possible as they don't sound the same - will keep working on it
Do p760 vs callaway apex pro
I'll try my best
Perhaps some may not want a free trip to go to the Dominician Republic right about now, especially Americans...😬 Great video though as always!
Thanks mate.
I have just seen that! This was filmed about 2 weeks ago!
@@alexetchesgolf No worries bud. I totally get it. Great video as always.
Shot 1
There’s no such thing as bad clubs from the top manufacturers these days. I personally think the blueprints are the most ugly blade I have ever seen and the clicky feel isn’t for me but then I’m biased because I bought Tour 919 a few months ago. They are also a shedload cheaper than the ping. #nothungfeelslikeamizuno
Timmy, you need to go to Specsavers,Blueprint ugly, please
They are awful looking for a blade this years Wilson, Mizuno, Calloway and TaylorMade all look way better there's a bloody black screw in the bottom for gods sake. @@cliveg8350
I love personal preference! haha
Dude don’t be modest your swing is awesome.
Mate where is my car. Forget the holiday 🤣👍🏌🏼🇦🇺
Didn't you get the car?
The JPX919 Tour is NOT the "big dog" in the playground lmoa. It's a freaking cavity back!!!!! The MP20 would be the "big dog" in the playground.
Damn’t, I was wrong
no.1: JPX
no.2: blueprint
noooo....
Tour for looks.
Me too!
"Just like the Undertaker" :)
DEAD MAN WALKING
Shot 2
NICE
I prefer shot number 1
I have hit both, and I give the blueprint look and sound, the 919 feel and performance.
take that back actually , for performance I prefer the 919s for long irons, cause there a bit more forgiving, but I like the smaller profile of the short irons on the blueprints
2 is blueprint
Blueprint because they don’t make the 919 in lefty 😤
A perfect start to my day, having breakfast while watching Alex T2T two Stunners!
Both Irons would give a Golfer a bump in their pants, but as I couldn't hit either of them I don't really mind which one is the Winner.
PS I never knew that Irons were made out of Lego, you learn something every day with Alex!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha! Thanks bud. Always appreciate your comments
Cracking fun toe 2 toe review Alex as always enjoyed it mate, as soon as you see the Wilson blades you will cream your jeans and have an affair Ha ha
Haha! I have seen them and hit them at the show. I like them, but wouldn't say they're my favourite
