Back in 1990 ,when I was 10 years old..... This band sparked a fire in me. All I can say is thank you. I was a fifth grader playing Trumpet in a high school band. five years Trumpet, three years Trombone.
"LUV DA BOOM"! I marched during this performance! I can't believe how time has flown. I will tell you this, it took us several takes before we came up with the final march taping. We started that afternoon and taped well until the dusk hours. Memories.
I missed this when it first was aired. Thanks for putting this video of my school's band on line. The Sonic Boom of the South was, is and forever will be one of the best in the land.
Wow ,I'm glad you had the tape. This was also my introduction to Motown . Within a year,I would watch this as a little kid with my brothers many times .Somehow ,I can only remember as the beginning part where Whoopi was on stage. If I still had the tape I'd upload , but I'm glad you did. Thanks for uploading.
BAAABY!!! THEM J-SETTES FIRE! BACK WHEN THE SONIC BOOM HAD A WHOLE NUTHA SOUND AND CLEAN SHARP LOOK!!!! WHEN THE BOOM WAS "THEE BOOOOOOOM" ..and the TWIRLER!!! I forgot we had twirlers. #THEEiLove
I followed your career for quite some time. I kind of miss Marvin Yancey. Your former drummer Ricky Sparks are from the same neighborhood in New Jersey.

I am a fan of the drum majors. No one and I mean no one steps like them
