  • Overwhelming Colorfast - Toss Up
Blazing forth from Antioch, California came the mighty Overwhelming Colorfast. Along with the erstwhile Bean and Torg, the brothers Reed put both the noise and the pop in Noise Pop and drew the inevitable comparisons to Husker Du. Their first two albums are two of the finest slabs ever recorded, and this song is from their second effort, 1994's "Two Words." By all rights, they should have been as big as Nirvana, another band whose break-out record was produced by Butch Vig.

They easily made Vanilla Fudge obsolete and to be discarded. Srsly, loved OCF and played them for 25 years on my college radio show. They were too catchy and good to be a forgotten fad grunge band, most of which weren't nearly as grungy as....Cows, Hammerhead, Oblivians, Reatards and plenty more. Listening to these "cats" not on some nostalgia trip...fantastic timeless band.
