Just hearing Sidra talk normally, and not in the context of an edited tiktok video, her just being herself and talking about her background in a western country, made me respect her a lot. It's great to see that she was willing to hear, empathize and trying to understand the other perspective and even just her admitting that she has a lot to learn. The whole thing felt like it was honest and she was speaking from the heart. Major appreciation to Sidra. I think, Sidra is how we all were at one point. She believes that Islam is correct, and right now I feel like she's in the phase that she thinks "no Islam can't be wrong." However, her just straight up saying that "I'm sorry for my religion" makes me think, she's on a journey that we all went through. Regardless of her religious affiliations, I think we can all appreciate that she is not a person who advocates all the inhumane things in the dogma, much less like a certain "and we are proud of that" apologist. I do think that the fundamental dogma needs to be reformed, and if her interpretation is helping people follow a much less violent, more friendly religion then I'm all for it. This is why I now support Sidra and Ghamdi. Although, I do think she needs to look in some of her own personal biases like homophobia.

I'm an ex-Muslim but I wanna make something clear. Just because someone is a Muslim doesn't mean they support EVERYTHING in Islam. More like, they support the majority of it which is why they choose to follow it in the first place. Just because someone is a Muslim doesn't necessarily mean they are closed-minded and support the shitty things in their religion. (I'm not saying ALL muslims are good or bad, depends on the person) You can't blame Muslims for the rules of their religion, rather you can criticize the religion itself. People who choose to react immaturely to the criticism towards their religion just show their true colors. Most importantly, we should not fight about it, rather talk things out and try to understand people's perspectives and choices and understand where they're coming from, and respect it. There's a mature way to deal with things. Everyone should always look from an "outsider" perspective at things. People automatically assume "ex-Muslim" means bashing and just hating Muslims in general. I wish more people would see this video.
Many of the peaceful ones are blissfully unware of the intolerant, violent and misogynistic parts of their beliefs. But you seem to acknowledge that there ARE such bad aspects of that religion.

@@Clover-wg5xx Here's something to think about. We like talking about Nazis because it's comfortable, right? We know about the Holocaust, yea? What if i told you that Muslims oppressed Jews for centuries? What if I told you that the Holocaust pales in comparison to what muslins did in india? Now, tell me something. If you went to Nazi Germany, after they had won the war (alternative history, I know), and you asked them about their doctrines, what do you think they would tell you? I wager it would be one of these things: "We are only protecting and furthering our nation", "We wanted peace but we were pushed", "They (the jews) asked for it". Better yet, let's say Nazism spread to the world and you went to, say, Argentina, and you asked about Nazism. What would they tell you? Maybe something like "What are you talking about? We just want peace". Same exact rhetoric as yours. Same. Exact. Rhetoric. Just because YOU didn't participate in the atrocitices does not.mean they didn't happen. And they happened because of islam. The quran decrees genocide and rape and slavery (and rape of slaves and war prisoners... muslims are even told to make sure to impregnate their prisoners of war too). I get that you see nothing wrong in your personal practice, but you are wrong when you say islam wants peace. You wouldn't know peace if you weren't muslim. Even as a muslim.woman, your rights are diminished to 1. That is the point. That is all.
How about malaysian ex muslims who are affected by that sharia and are arrested? Or even those who do not fast and are persected too. Islam has engrained itself in malay culture that practices are synonymous or interchangeable. Malay ex muslims still face alienation because of this
Omg I'd never thought a Muslim apologist would ever consider us as human beings... Thank you ninja mommy I have more respect for you, eventhough I may not believe in what you believe in, I hope the best for you
Apologist is to believe in something controversial. All religions have millions/billions people who disagree also millions/billions that agree. Overall, it isn't a topic that is overwhelmingly disfavored. As far as your feeling of not being considered a human being, I'm guessing this is due to the Muslims you have around you.
Did it? I mean, she clearly recognises what’s happening and her reality is nowhere close to the realities of at least a 100 million people who are ex-muslims and people who live with muslims, yet she somehow thinks islam is beautiful? Nah, bruh.

I had never imagined, such a fruitful conversation between these 2 groups. So amazing to listen to. Im almost a bit emotional and im not even ex muslim/muslim 😂 ❤
I hope this leads to her total awakening. Some Muslims are good people, but referring to someone like Muhammad as their best example forces them to live in a completely different reality and to justify the atrocities against innocent human life.
@Constantine Mithras I see Muslims like that term mangod. The name Jacob means the one who wrestled with God. Ask your imams why they still refer to Jacob by that name if they don't believe that God can manifest in the flesh as pertaining to the story.
@Constantine Mithras Muslims worship Muhammad, who according to Islam's own sources married a six year old girl and his own adopted son's wife, slottered a peaceful Jewish tribe in Medina and raiped his female captives even if they were already married.
This was beautiful to listen to. I still have reverence for portions of Islam and it's history because it's my history but I can't follow the path anymore. Seeing Muslims and ex-Muslims constructively talking to each other is wonderful and provides hope that such dialogues can take place.
Listening to Sidra, here we have an example of humility, honesty and emotional intelligence; and given how toxic these matters can become, firstly an example of bravery.

I've had several discussions with Sidra behind the scenes since this livestream and I genuinely believe she is a kind, compassionate person. I'll admit, I was slightly apprehensive myself in the beginning. But the more I speak to her, the more I realise how wrong my initial perception of her was
A religious person, no matter the faith, admitting that they had it easy and that not everyone else may have, is huge. I can respect this admittance. This is one of the things atheists see that religious people don’t see. I grew up in Muslim countries and was floored at the disregard religious people showed their fellow human beings. Same in other religious countries. It’s one of the biggest turnoffs about religion. We are fellow human beings first and foremost.

I was not aware of Ninja Mommy until a few weeks ago, hearing references to her on Apostate Prophet's channel. I have never heard her speak before. It is great to hear this conversation today. It sounds as if she is opening her eyes to more of what is really happening in the world. Now I would ask her to think about this. In yesterday's BBC there was a news item about an Islamic State (Sunni) suicide bomber who killed himself and at least 50 Shi'ites who were attending Friday prayers in a mosque in Kunduz, Afghanistan. This is not a rare, unusual event. My question: Can Islam be at peace with the world while it is at war with itself? Ninja Mommy is reaching out to those on the "other side" and seeking reconciliation. I commend her highly for this. She is a positive example for others to emulate. I hope others will.
I'm so happy to see the things you've done! All our support is with you! I want to tell something; in reddit exmuslim community everyone was like really agaist her and i feel so sad to see people judge so easily, i really realised that "whichever community you are in it doesn't matter, there is always people that doesn't respect others". Thank you ninja mommy for acknowledging ninja mommy your mistakes. Thank you for understanding that you have came across the wrong way you were so open and honest in the video. Criticising religious ideologies is crucial for societal progression nobody should be attacked, killed for leaving Islam or get death threats. Iranian woman here.
I never really agreed with a lot of beliefs ninja mommy generally has, but the video she made for iran made me cry. She is one of the few muslims i truly love and respect.
Just because she does not support lgbtq doesn’t mean she’s homophobic

Ali Dawah really made two accounts to dislike this video lol
This video was absolutely amazing, I'm so proud of both of you for the way you handled this.
(I'm not saying ALL muslims are good or bad, depends on the person)
You can't blame Muslims for the rules of their religion, rather you can criticize the religion itself.

Apologist is to believe in something controversial. All religions have millions/billions people who disagree also millions/billions that agree. I hope this leads to her total awakening. Some Muslims are good people, but referring to someone like Muhammad as their best example forces them to live in a completely different reality and to justify the atrocities against innocent human life.
@Constantine Mithras What about atheism ? We don't have to follow a religion nowadays
@Constantine Mithras this does not help ex-muslims

A religious person, no matter the faith, admitting that they had it easy and that not everyone else may have, is huge. I can respect this admittance.
My question:
Can Islam be at peace with the world while it is at war with itself?
