Jose Manuel.......de Vlaeminck ['Mr Paris-Roubaix'] rode Paris-Roubaix on 14 occasions, winning four times [1972, 1974, 1975, 1977], finished second four times, third once, fifth once, sixth once, seventh twice. He only abandoned once in 1980. He rode the famous Italian GIOS 'Blu' bikes - which until only recently was the 'most winningest' bicycle in Paris-Roubaix history!
@@thesoultwins72 what are the chances of any one man doing that well in any annual race, let alone"the hell of the norde" must have been a smooth racer/operator and with better than average eyesight that could see the sharp conererd pave's before his competetors, then gained the confidence of his abilities and just believed in himself with his wholeheart, mindful of preordained fate, or just wanted it more than anyone else and pounded himself senseless, better than the other riders p}hated or better mechanic/wheelman/and coach, too consistent to not have had some kind of advantage. The power of suggestion and belief in oneself is a powerful combination
