This is what KEITH RICHARDS said about Paco de Lucia: «You say I'm a guitar legend. You have no idea. There are only two or three guitarists who can be considered legends. And above all of them, is Paco de Lucía.»
RIP Paco DeLucia RIP Larry Coryell. Larry is a part of the soundtrack of my life. He plays on some of the greatest jazz/ fusion albums ever made. Along with Johnny Mac of course
Pioneers of shredding . Lagoya , the Montoyas , Segovia & others blazed the trail . Flamenco guitar is as lovely and tonal as it is thoroughly soulful and virtuosic . Yamandu Costa (Brazilian) living Maeatro is well worth a deep dive .
Now you're getting too the good stuff! DiMeola & McLaughlin were pretty much the 2 guitarist that paved the way for Vai, Malmsteen, Satriani, Johnson, Moore & others. Check out Race with Devil on Spanish Highway by DiMeola or something from The Mahavishnu Orchestra or Return to Forever. Still hoping you get back to The Doobie Brothers!
Oh, now. Now you’re tapping into some next level talent. I believe this tune is Mediterranean Sundance? Loved that look in your eyes as you saw what kind of talent was happening. It’s like that.
Half of it is Mediterranean Sundance. The other half, which the track starts with is Entre Dos Aguas, a flamenco rumba Paco first recorded in Spain in the 70's. I bought the album when I was there then, and the original was a traditional flamenco guitar piece. It got jazzed up when he collaborated with John and Al in 1981.
This song also goes by the name "Mediterranean Sundance". While other versions might be tighter than this marvel, Larry Coryell brings some difference to the collaboration, which makes it unique from the others, which you really must also hear.
You say I am a guitar legend. You have no idea. There are only two or three guitarists that can be considered legends. Above all is Paco de Lucía," said Keith Richards.
I recommend you Return to Forever - "The Romantic Warrior". Absolutly amazing Fusion Jazz, with Chick Corea on kb, Al di Meola guitar, Stanley Clarke bass and Lenny White on drums. Sure you'll like it and be impressed !
This song is called "Mediterranean Sundance" ... "Entres Dos Aguas" is a completely different song. Also, where is John McLaughlin? This video was definitely mislabeled. The best version of this song is by John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucia and Al Di Meola. I saw them do it live in the early 1980s and they were astounding! Much tighter than this version.
John McLaughlin(Ma-GLOCK-lin) was absent here. Paco de Lucia(loo-CHEE-uh)RIP, the flamenco player and Larry Coryell turn in a fine performance of this. I saw McLaughlin, de Lucia and Al DiMeola in 1982-3? and was most impressed and entertained by opener Steve Morse(Dixie Dregs, Deep Purple), both for his technique, and most for the harmonic beauty and great heart of his compositions. He also stood out, imo, when he joined the other three for the finale/encore. McLaughlin blew my mind almost a decade earlier touring 'Love, Devotion, Surrender', a collaboration with Carlos Santana. Carlos was Carlos. Mahavishnu JM was godly, prompting one reviewer to speak of the "sense of nobility" in his playing. Despite his flawless technique, DiMeola always left me cold, I always found Coryell more interesting, at least.
Could you please react to a couple of songs for me. I know you'll enjoy them and you'll probably be the 1st to react to them. The 1st is from a group called Potliquor and is called "Cheer" It's from 1972. Great vocal, drums, guitar, and horns. The 2nd is a Brenda Lee rendition of "If You Go Away" that is filled which so much emotion that one might end up in tears. If was released on the "Johnny One Time" LP in 1969. I really enjoy your show and the sincerity shown in your reaction. Thank you.
I'm familiar with Paco de Lucia and know he is a Spanish flamenco guitarist and a very big name. But I'm not familiar with the other two and one of them I assumed was missing from this video.
Paco was an absolute treasure !!!! Rest in Peace Maestro

I saw these guys in the Albert Hall, London, back in the day - amazing concert.
The one you want to see is 'John McLaughlin, Paco DeLucia, Al DiMeola - Friday Night in San Francisco 1981'
For Sure!
And any Return to Forever!
I hear Larry was going to be on that album but had substance issues.
Saw McLaughlin and Leo Kottke in 1978 at a college music hall I was 17 and it blew me away.
Sabicas wasn't too shabby either!
Paco De Lucia and Al Di Meola play this on the Elegant Gypsy album and it is Mediterranean Sundance.

Check out Race with Devil on Spanish Highway by DiMeola or something from The Mahavishnu Orchestra or Return to Forever. Still hoping you get back to The Doobie Brothers!
Don't forget about Coryell, he is pretty much the Godfather of Fusion. All are masters though and could listen all day!
Spain

Two amazing guitar players. Please check out the mahavishnu orchestra. John McLaughlin, Jan Hammer, some amazing jazz fusion stuff.
I've been asking for for The Mahavishnu Orchestra for ever....CHOD...gotta do it
Haciendo hablar a las guitarras unos monstruos
This is Mediterranean Sundance Written by Al DiMeola

Try Paco de Lucía with Camarón de la Isla!
Al Di Meola's album Elegant Gypsy has the definitive version of this song...It's called Mediterranean Sundance.
This song also goes by the name "Mediterranean Sundance". While other versions might be tighter than this marvel, Larry Coryell brings some difference to the collaboration, which makes it unique from the others, which you really must also hear.
Great! ..but I didn't see John McLaughlin in this 🔥
I was wondering which one was missing. I am familiar with Paco DeLucia, but not the other two.
@@bangmon1000 the other guy with glasses is a very young Larry Coryell
@@myownchannel247 Thanks.

Actually this is not Entre dos aguas, it is a mixture between Rio ancho and Mediterranean Sundance from Al Dimeola
You have to check out Mediterranean Sundance. You’re in for a real treat on this one. The live version from Friday night in San Francisco…

It's a combination of both. Only the start is Mediterranean Sundance, the rest is either Entre Dog Aguas or improvisation.
Sorry but Paco's machine gun is the clear giveaway. 50% ms, 50% between the waters
"Friday Night in San Francisco" Delucia, Mclaughlin, and Dimeola. ruclips.net/video/GG55zXKbC60/видео.html

There you go some John McLaughlin
Unfamiliar with these artist, but they are wonderful. Once again, thank you for reacting to something different.

Ese tema no es Entre dos Aguas.
PACO THE GOAT.
El tema es Mediterranean Sundance.
Please watch Al Dimeola, Kiss My Axe live!
Now you are ready for Gypsy Kings.
Think 5 guys doing this.

Bro is Paco de Lucia and Larry Coriel

I'd like to recommend checking out Yamandu Costa, the Brazilian guitarist, he's playing at this same level.....
I’ll suggest Manitas de plata and Jose Reyes. The father’s of the Gypsy kings.
Are there some music credentials from the reactor we should know about to make watching this worth it?
Escucha a camaron de la isla dicen de mi
can you do a reaction to In Trance by The Scorpions
But.... that's not Entre Dos Aguas.... that's Mediterranean Sundance...
NO HABLO INGLES Y NO ENTIENDO NI MADRE 🤣🤣🤣🤣
