    Jamaica is bless with many hard working young men, Rodney 24 year old farmer from Nain in St.Elizabeth is one of them, on electrician by profession, but a Farmer at heart, so Rodney gave up his job as on electrician to take up farming, he has been farming for five years now and he has come up with very innovative ways to help make farming a little easier for him, however he needs help with some aspects of farming. Farming is in the blood of every Jamaican, but the people of St.Elizabeth have different kind of love for Farming, hence the name the bread basket parish of Jamaica.

    yes not a lot of young people are not into farming. i think its naive. farming is life. the grocery stores get their produce from farmers. so farmers are the true rich! rich with life!

    tell him to grow on trellises ( vertically) that way he gets more space to plant and they are more accessible

      yes. I literally just said that. He would not have to hunt around, they would be cleaner and he could see exactly where they are so reaping would be much easier.

      I didn't know much about Cucumber and how its plant or reap until Rodney explained it to me, you should do a backyard farm.

    I used to put a trellis for mine after watching this I am going to let it grow on d ground l will get more but I will spread fallen dried mango leaves on d ground

    Interesting to see gardening in another Caribbean country. The biggest difference is that Jamaicans don’t need to think about snake hiding in your garden. I uploaded my first video a couple days ago. Way to go, looks beautiful🎉

    Shan..when I mention that the young generation is not attracted or interested in farming,i didn't mean every young person....obviously Rodney is very passionate about farming, which is wonderful in itself to try to inspire a lot more young people....that's why I said that I would like to invest in the farming projects.

    goodm my brother thank you for being acreative person this is what the creator of heaven and earth want to see human plant their own food healthy food you are a child of the most high god .We appreciate your hard work.The politicians need to wake up and smell agriculture and local food and support the grassroot people the is the only way out of corona challenges caricom have fail the caribbean people for year i call on them to support solar drying technology using a solar dryer to make salt and smoke fish trapping the sunand putting it to work creating job and feeding the nation in hard to deal with time like fruits could dry every thing and market human confused you have local hurbs or bush for medicine all they want to import lost vision so adios.

      Hi, oh sure! fortunately the only creatures we normally see are small bugs, because its a traditional way of farming Jamaicans are normally cautious, but we don't normally wear any protective gears.

    quick question. wouldn't this be much easier to run an arbor and let the cucumber run OFF the ground?
    That way the cucumber plants would run better longer and be easier to reap because you would be able to see all of them .
