Hi Tracy and Kirsty, you have both got some fabulous WIP’s and FO’s. I absolutely love watching the both of you as it gives me so many ideas what I would like to make. Thank you so much ladies I look forward to the next one 👍🏻🫶🏻🥰 x
Hello from northern MN where I live in the woods on a lake and raise Leicester Longwools and Wensleydales. Love the detailed descriptions of what you do. You each have your niche of interests and skills and such a wonderful balance. You really make an extraordinary team. Thank you so much.
You two are so unassuming…..as you continue to knit, crochet, spin, etc. etc. etc. Kirsty, your spinning rivals what I see from Spincycle yarns! And, I love the experimental shawl. I just watched episode 247 of Fiberchats where Irina interviews two women who are publishing a book for knitting tech editors. It was very interesting and encourage you to watch. I would LOVE to see you publish the shawl pattern and agree with Tracy that the colors are exquisite. I would also urge you to publish patterns for those itty bitties you just produce with what looks like no effort. Tracy, I am knitting my granddaughter a garter blanket for Christmas holding two strands of fingering. However, I LOVE the blanket you are making from Laura Penrose’s pattern. Thanks for the reminder. The purple yarn you received from Kirsty…..I tried to reach through the iPad screen!! Wishing you both a zen couple of weeks! 😊 🧶
Another lovely episode ladies! That shawl & cherry socks are so creative!!! Kirsty - Andrea Mowry said on one of her podcasts that brioche in superwash will spiral like you are experiencing. I had that happen with her Old Port Hat - it was fine in non-superwash wool, but my second cast on using superwash spiraled. I don't recall her explanation but it was in her episode around end of May for her Spring Hat KAL 2023.
I so love how you bounce off each other and are so happy for each other when you've created something special. Tracy your v neck is amazing. The colours suit you so well and it really does make you think of autumn. Your cherries are stunning too. Kirsty your shawl is gorgeous. You would never know and to be fair 'who cares'! I want to knit it - its the perfect size for under a winter coat especially if you have a hood which can make everything bulky. Thank you for bring us so much inspiration and being happy smiley people 😊😊🤩🤩🥰🥰
Tracy, some amazing socks! Good for you for figuring out how to make the cherry stitch count work. The colors are perfect. They will be so much fun to wear. The crocheted v-neck is going to be so much fun for you to wear. Kristy, the hand spun is so pretty. The purple you gave Tracy is so my colors and it made me jealous and excited to see it knit into a project.
So glad to have been directed to your podcast via mousesmakes. Such a lovely watch and some fabulous knits. I’ve always got socks on the needles so I’ll try and remember your kal xx
Thank you again for another wonderful episode 🙂 Always so enjoyable to spend time with you both while I knit along. Both your projects are always so inspirational! I hope your family is recovering quickly from COVID! Take care xo
Thank you! Ah yes, I think most of the yarn in my stash is s twist, I might have to spin something the opposite way! Hope you are having fun with your knitting! 💕
Hi from Colorado, USA! I found you gals because Jana and Allie BOTH mentioned you! Yay! I am so thrilled to find you! I also have a prodigal podcast. 😂🤣. I post about once a month. The Purled Nest is mine. I wish mine was a entertaining and wonderful as yours! You are both such talented makers. And your banter is just a pleasure to sit in on. I knit or weave along as I watch and I am currently binge watching all of your episodes. LOL! Cheers!
Yet another fabulous podcast …so many beautiful creations….and the promise of a free pattern…just to make people smile …well done my lovelies …did I mention that I’m so very proud of you both 🤗❤xx
My harlow knitted up with the same lean on the stitches, but once cast off it straightened itself up. Thanks again for a lovely update, you are both so inspiring x
Ah Thank you! Yes 2 long videos in one sitting was a bit much 😂 but we love sharing what we've been up to with everyone so it's always worthwhile for us! 💕
Tracy, think your son needs to start taking vitamin C and Echinacea to boost his immune system over the winter! Bless him. Lovely podcast ladies, love the shawl design Kirsty, you are so clever.
Thank you so much Karen 🥰 unfortunately my Son has PFAPA Syndrome ( Aphthous, stomatitis, pharyngitis and cervical adenitis syndrome) so it doesn’t matter what vitamins he takes there’s not much help, he was in remission for 8 years and unfortunately it’s seems to have just started up again xx
Love watching you both!! Except that it costs me money each time!! Just can't resist - you knit so many lovely things and inspire me to make so many new things. Bought the Alter Knit book a couple of weeks ago and just ordered Knitovation from Amazon 😬
Brilliant podcast! I buy wonky veg all the time so a wonky pattern wouldn't bother me🤔 it's beautiful as are all your makes. You are both inspirational thank you 🥰🥰
Another great podcast! And Kirsty I love your shawl/scarf design it’s the perfect shape for the type of shawl that I like and I would knit it wonky I don’t think it’s noticeable and it’s lovely!! Would love to knit it!
I knit 2 Harlow hats and the second one did what yours is doing. I research it and the only explanation I found had to do with the twist of the yarn which is something Kirsty may understand being a spinner. I don’t think there is anything to be done about it. It’s still a nice hat. Love your episodes!
Thank you Hilda, that's so helpful to know. I will look into this further, it's very interesting that it's only happening with certain yarns. Hope you're having a a great weekend! 💕
Was thinking about you whilst knitting a rib....the problem you had with the rib slanting one way when knitting in round..just watched ysolda teague podcast 3..near the end she gives a comprehensive explanation..various issues to think about. Interesting for us All who knit in round. Hope it is of interest xgwyn
A fantastic podcast! Tracey I've had the same issue with some Woolyknit products which were 'sliced' at short intervals. Mines was in the DK Warth Mill 500g balls in the shade Harvest. You get 5x100g balls and I got cut bits of 2 metres for a long time when working with those. My other colours were ok so I thought it must have been a one off. I think your Alpine Bloom is stunning in those colours and can't wait to see the finished product
Thanks so much 😊 sorry to hear you had a similar problem with woolyknit yarn 🙁 So with the measuring handspun I weigh it, I count the individual strands and I measure the skein. As its a circle I times the length by 2. I times the strands by the length of the skein. That gives me the meterage then I divide that by the weight of the skein and times by 100, this let's me know if it's closer to a DK or sport etc. I hope that makes sense 😁 I havnt found a quicker way to do it. I found this way works well for me to know how much yarn I have to use for projects. I pay more attention to these measurements than I do the wraps per inch. If my explanation is confusing, please DM me on Instagram and I'll try and and demonstrate it with some of my finished handspun 💕
OMG thank you so much and that makes perfect sense. I've written this all down and will attempt it with my first hank. I'm not a maths person so was always wondering how people were managing to calculate their handspun meterage. Thanks for explaining it so clearly ❤❤❤@@woolandwishes
Love your podcasts!! Y'all are so fun to watch!! Love all of your makes. I do have a question for Kirsty. The hat you're wearing, does it at all have 3 colors in the same row?
