    Hi! Do they each have a different stretch factor? I have only used bamboo string so far and love the texture although individual threads can get annoying if they bump out a bit, but thinking for shelves for plants or plant hangers if there is a stretch factor then which is best to use? Thank you for sharing your knowledge on all things macrame! I am just getting into it :)

    Thanks! Do you ever use jute? It was used quite a bit in the 70s for macrame.

    Long question. Let's say I a pattern with 4mm 3ply but I only have 5mm string. Am I still going to use the same conversion to go up as say 4mm 3 ply to 5mm 3 ply? I ask because I did one tutorial where they used 3mm 3ply and I used 4mm string so I did the upgrade and I wasted so much
