I once took a girl on a first date to see Jake live. I didnt tell her where I was taking her because I liked her and thought that, if I told her I was taking her to a ukulele concert, she'd have suddenly had somewhere else she had to be. When we got there and she found out what was going on, the only reason she didn't bail was because she was too polite. Then Jake came on and started playing. We got married a year later.
@@Shady-79 My guess would be that those two would rather jam together than disagree on who is the better player. So why can`t we do the same. Both are awesome.
If anyone would have told me they heard an amazing arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody on Ukulele I might have laughed. However, that is exactly what you have done. You gave me chills. All of my old grey hair was standing on end. Impressive use of harmonics. Amazing! Music transcends all things and reaches across borders and boundaries of race, country, language and culture. Thanks for sharing. :)

The end of this brought me to tears. Seriously, a brilliant and beautiful job! *SALUTE!* Jake proves and demonstrates the fact that there is no limit to a ukulele.
I have been playing the ukulele for over 50 years. Not quite as well as Jake. This rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody is Spectacular! Freddie Mercury would have felt so proud of Jake, if he would have had the pleasure to have seen and hear this! Magnificent! Bravo!
I went to see him, and after the show, everyone lined up for him to sign ukuleles, and I was near (if not) last...and,even though you could tell he was tired,(it was late),he signed every last uke,and I thought for sure he would sign a few,and be out the door. He's very polite and we enjoy every minute of his show.
Yes! Just saw him this week. I was standing outside waiting for the doors to open and he poked his head out the door and introduced himself. We visited for a couple minutes. What a genuinely nice person!
I saw him at the opera house in my home town, napa. And he was just so amazing the videos never do it justice until ur at an amphitheater or an opera house, its the sound and entire performance but the sound is so different and the napa valley opera house specifically is tiny and u can hear fingers move up the frets it was really cool. One of the best performers ive ever seen there.
Freddy and Queen made this a masterpiece of recording art in its day. YOU made this a masterpiece as a single instrument performance! DAMN, this is fine music! :-)
...when it's from the heart, puro vida so to speak...it undeniably always rises to the top. Excellent rendition Jake. much mahalo for sharing your gift
must be like a high to be able make that kind of beautiful sound...just to open up and fully take one of the world's most beautiful melodies and do it justice...he makes it look effortless...just so awe inspiring!
first playing of music to make me cry. I recently talked to a guy from the old kainoa ohana band, and he told me he used to play with jake. So I looked jake up, and wow, I'm inspired to learn the ukulele again.
After recently seeing the quite wonderful film, my son decided to practice this tune on his acoustic 6 string in his spare time, so I sent him this link asking if he thought two less strings make make it easier 🤪. I’ve watched quite a few of Jake’s videos over the past couple of years, and am always impressed, but was absolutely gobsmacked by this - most particularly the multiple voices call and reply in “the operatic part”
Thank you for learning to play the ukulele since you were a boy and for the journey you've taken to get to this point! Thank you for sharing your passion for music!
The world is in lockdown atm due to COvid-19 but listening to your music transports me far away from all this...extraordinary, celestial playing. What a gift you have! You've inspired me to learn the ukulele myself....
Such a great musician with...an amazing ukulele ! I guess it's not the "basic" one, it sounds almost like a mandoline and a small guitar together...beautiful ! The luthier should be proud of this masterpiece...

I just watched one of the greatest guitarists in the world, Igor Presnyakov, play this same song on a six-string cutaway classical. It was incredible . . . but THIS, Jake's rendition, was even better! More moving! More soulful! More percussive! Gave me goosebumps. And all this on what is, in effect, a 4-string "mini guitar."
Justin Thompson Fair enough. My point is that with 4-strings, smaller fret board, smaller natural volume, it’s even more difficult to play than a guitar.
Been playing guitar for 40 years, and just recently got a uke. Now I have 4. Never realized how fun they are to play

I saw Jake perform live in Albuquerque a few years ago. I bought several of his CDs at the event, because he's simply marvelous.

Amazing! Saw Jake in concert once, and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. What's with the 76 dislikes? They must be miserable people.
They probably came to see a simple strumming version. Bad for them.
or they just enjoy spreading hate
Totally agree! Miserable Republican's i would bet. This guy is amazing!
Where did you find that number of dislikes...??
This guy is an absolute monster. What a great player.
Wow! That was amazing. A friend just referred me to Jake and I had no idea the uke could sound that incredible. Well done sir!
