I was in a situation similar to this where I was pulling into a parking lot and a pickup truck suddenly backed up and I ended up hitting the trailer hitch and they kept trying to say it was my fault. I bought a dash cam so I'm never in a situation like that again.
All I know is that this is going to be a great but sad video😢😂

Logan, I have studied criminal justice and law, and I have a bachelors degree in the field so I can lend my advice real quick.
The officer claimed he is gonna write what happend as is, with emphasis of you in motion parking while the other person opened their door. You had already googled this but yes, she is at fault for not paying attention to her surroundings. The cop may have said "this is a parking lot and it's everyone duty to be careful", or whatever, but the thing is here that doesn't completely apply because there is no way of anyone predicting a door being opened so suddenly, meaning the likelihood of someone stopping before hitting is very unlikely. You were following driving rules while she wasn't. You can easily claim you were being responsible while parking, yet because of how so sudden the dooring opening was and how close to your car it was, you would not have had the time to react, so no matter how many times she tries to put you at fault, The situation clearly shows one person wasn't even paying attention.

In my opinion, the lady is at fault. If she claims that her door was already open while Logan was trying park slowly, the damage should have been at the side of her door and could have detached her door completely (I'm I pretty it won't because he was going slowly). But since the her door was damaged from the edge, it is most likely that she opened the door while Logan was already slowly moving to his parking space. If her door was completely open, I'm pretty sure Logan or anybody would wait until her door would close. But it might be that her door was most likely closed and thats why Logan tried to park there.

If her door was already open it would've damaged the front of your urus, the only way that it could've popped your tire is if the corner of her door hit it. She obviously opened the door right before you parked and the corner of her door hit your tire and fender

It’s hard to pin blame on who since I wasn’t a witness but that lady should’ve looked to see if any car was trying to park. The lady claimed Logan was speeding into the parking spot but only Tito can assess that. Either way, it’s more the ladies fault if she swung the door open
